Maybe the dose of antihypertensives needs to be increased or a different class of drugs used or added. The high uric acid levels can also be controlled with either Allopurinol, at doses which are adequate, or with newer drugs which are more effective and safer.

To reduce the uric acid levels in blood, you may need to limit intake of alcohol, sugary foods and reduce purine rich foods like meat, poultry, seafood and pulses. Vegetables such as cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, peas and mushroom also contain a lot of purines like Organ meats, such as liver, kidneys, sweetbreads, and brains.

Zyloric is used in condition of high uric acid which causes swelling and pain. It is not harmful if taken as prescribed. There are no serious side effects minor ones are gastric upset skin rashes dizziness taste change some mood swings. These are not seen in all so it is safe to take zyloric as prescribed.
