Gene Xpert will diagnose Rifampicin resistance. And it is a surrogate marker of INH resistance. Consult a Pulmonologist with the reports.

Can someone please tell Me. At present time TB PCR FOR RIF RESISTANCE BY GENEEXPERT. Can detect both rifampicin as well as isoniazid resistance both? How accurate it is in finding mdr tb.

Forecox Tablet is used in spinal B successfully if you take the full course of 9 months (or more if needed) and it is a combination of four medicines: Isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol and pyrazinamide which treat tuberculosis. This is regarding my dad. He is 57 years old. Before 5 months back my dad is suffering from cough problem so we consult with local doctor and we have done the x ray and found that there is some water (Pleural Fluid) in right lung. So then we consult with chest and respiratory specialist doctor further we done the more test for this (Pleural Fluid) like AFB Culture, Cytology,and also we have done CT scan for chest and Sputum test all are regarding pulmonary tb. But all the report are showing normal. Also 15 days back we have done the bronchoscopy also for that one report came normal and we are now waiting for next report which will come after one month. This is case history Right now my dad taking the following medicine since last 4 months:- R-Cin 600 Rifampicin Capsules Ecox-800 Ethambutol Tablets Solonex Isoniazid Tablets 300 mg PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE Tablets (VITAMIN B6) my question is how much time it require to cure this disease? Because my dad is still suffering from cough problem.

This is TB treatment which is not as per protocol and weight of patient. Also what wad report of ADA in pleural fluid, report of biochemistry an dcytology.

Mujhe intestine bdi aant me tb h gastro ne att start kia forecox benadon tablet se. 70 days mene treatment lia doctor ka behave achha na hone se mene doctor change kia md physician jinhone meri forecox stoped kr di or mujhe rifampicin 600 isoniazid 300 ethambutol 800 di hai to kya ye treatment sahi hai. Or kitne din ye medicine leni pdegi me medicine daily same time le rha hu ek din bhi miss nhi kia.

Att to be given according to your weight. Drugs are correct just check for dose. And do continue as advised and complete the course. Do consult your pulmonologist timely.

Usually alternatives are ethambutol and levofloxacin and streptomycin sometimes only isoniazid without rifampicin is tolerated.

My aunt is of weight 73 kg. She has dry cough and enlarged lymph nodes in neck. On doing fnac of neck lymph nodes, tuberculous lymphadenitis was suggested. She was started tb treatment on rcinex 600 combutol 1000 pyniza (750 mg×2). Today she has completed 2 months with above medicines. Now the doctor suggested to take akt4 for next 4 months. They have heard that after completing 2 months, one tablet (pyrazinamide) has to be stopped. Please suggest what to do and which medicines to be taken as 2 months have been completed.

Yeah that is how the treatment for tb is done. For the next 4 months she has to continue rifampicin and isoniazid.

I just got into maintenance phase in tb treatment because I finished my 2 months medication before im taking 3 tablets of quadmax now my doctor gave me 1 tablet of Rifampicin isoniazid 450 mg/400 mg a day. I forgot to ask my doctor if I need to continue drinking 3 tablets of quadmax. Do I need to take also 3 tablets of quadmax or the 1 tablet of rifampicin isoniazid only?

After the 2 months of initial therapy you need only two drugs( INH and Rifampicin) for next 4 months

I am 40 years old. I was diagnosed with extra pulmonary tb in the month of November and AKT4 was started. I am experiencing excessive pain in my knees, left ankle and right wrist. My right wrist is also swollen and I am unable to fold my fingers. Doctor's say that I am having osteoarthritis wrist, knee and ankle. After two months I have been switched to R-cinex. I want to know whether I have to consult an ortho for my pain in joints or my problem will be solved once I am cured from tb. How long does the pain persists in general.

Hi as per your infromation ,akt4 have 4 salt rifampicin ,isoniazid ,ethambutol, pyrazinamide, many times seen that pyrazinamid have side effects of joint pain, then it must be better for confirm blood test for better examination of osterarthrits and rehumatoid like cbc, esr, anti ccp test ,rf factor.
