Hi lybrate-user, A key step in the best method to quit alcohol is to let people around you know about your intentions. This will help reduce the surprise they feel when they see you are not drinking. In turn, it will lessen their comments of surprise, which could catch you off guard and make you want to drink. Telling those around you about your plans to quit will also help give you a support network. If your friends and family know you are not drinking anymore, they will not offer you a glass. Even better, they will give you the encouragement you need to turn down a glass of wine at a restaurant or gathering. When you let people know your plans for staying sober, it also increases your accountability. Most people will try harder to succeed in a goal if others know about it. You will not want to be embarrassed by failure and will also avoid the feeling of letting down the people you love. 2) Another important aspect that you will learn about when in pursuit of how to give up drinking wine is to choose your companions carefully. If you have friends that have a glass or two of wine with every meal, you should definitely avoid dining with them at least for some time. Some of your acquaintances are responsible for the quantity of wine you drink by doing things like saying you should have “just one more glass of wine.” These are the friends you should avoid spending time with for the moment because they will make your road to recovery harder. In the beginning, giving up wine can be incredibly difficult and if you are around people who are not supportive, it will be even harder. Instead, choose to spend time with people who do not drink or those who you trust not to drink around you. Look for friends or family members that have fun without alcohol. 3) Just because you want to know how to stop drinking wine on your own doesn’t mean you can’t use the tools around you for help. The vitamin B1 is a supplement that is a useful tool because it can make it much easier to abstain from alcohol. Thiamine is important for metabolism of sugar and a deficiency in B1 is associated with alcoholism. It is critical to the functioning of certain biochemical processes specifically in the brain. When you are deficient in this critical vitamin, you will have a much more difficult time controlling cravings. You can find this vitamin in beans, meat such as pork, rice, nuts, peas, soybeans and bran. If you do not want to adjust your diet to encompass consuming more vitamin B1 then you can simply get more from over the counter vitamins in your system to help combat your cravings. 4) Another high quality natural method to quit alcohol is Turmeric. This natural herb is excellent for detoxing the liver. It is beneficial in reducing inflammation, as well as regenerating the cells of the liver. It will also help to promote the production of bile, which cleans the liver and rids it of toxins. It is important to get this herb from an herbal supplier and not from the seasoning section of your grocery store. You will have a better level of nutrients when you purchase from a supplier over the grocery store. This herb is f in the ginger family and is in Indian dishes. When you begin, your journey to quit drinking you will find that you are going to need all the resources you have. Imagine that due to excess alcohol, you are vomiting and having paralyzing headaches. If you've felt this way before while drinking, try to summon those memories. The pain you feel is good: it's a willingness to change your habits, and that's the first step. Even if you only reduce your daily drinking by one drink, it's a success. No step is too small at this point. A mistake here is getting comfortable only curbing your drinking by one drink. Keep working on reducing the alcohol you consume. Every week, cut down the total number of drinks by at least one. If you want to be more ambitious, try halving the number of drinks you allow yourself each week. Do meditation regularly especially in the morning. At the end of the session, vow not to drink alcohol. Remember your calm mind of meditation later when you feel like drinking. It will distract you. Pick up yoga! It will help you deal with stress and calm your mind. Best of all, yoga can be done in a group setting where you can feed off of the energy of other people. Embrace that positive energy. All the very best.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Dear Lybrate user. This is a wrong concept. Cholesterol has nothing to do with stress or anxiety. Weight loss could happen due to stress and anxiety and as a general effect, whole cholesterol count could decrease. Take care.

Dear user. I understand. This is actually wrong way of thinking. I always suggest there should be at least 5 years difference between husband and wife. One factor is respect and second is age related maturity. Most important is menopausal problems and fallout thereafter. I suggest you to ignore the age difference and go ahead with marriage. Im unable to understand you symptoms clearly, however I assume that there is a prolapse of rectum from your anal canal, as self diagnosis is dangerous my advise is to see a colorectal surgeon for opinion. You may require surgery to hold back the prolapsing segment of the descending colon.

5 steps to a stress free life (part 2)


Step 2 – I am not on time … it’s alright – every step of our lives today is about completing tasks and making things happen faster and better. What we fail to realize that every thought of hurry and the associated worry is influencing our mental, emotional and spiritual as well as our physical health. Also, it is better to be late for that meeting, for the assignment or even for a meal or getting ready. But it’s worse to hurry because a hurried consciousness will further bring tight schedules on your way, because that’s the energy you radiate, which will come back to you. The more the hurry, the more people will feel the energy of it and feel uncomfortable with you. Also, remember a short term failure is a better deal than long term harm to your mind, body and relationships. So, perform the tasks of significance, drive your car to office, finish your house work and office routine and even have a busy social life, but all of it in a relaxed, unhurried and untired state of mind. This way, you will enjoy life’s moments, receive long term success at all levels and not feel the pressure of deadlines and people’s time driven expectations from you. 

Step 3 – all the world’s a stage and we are all merely actors – every morning tell yourself that I am an actor on the world stage and everything I do here is my role to play. An actor on a drama stage never identifies with his role. He knows the role is temporary and he has to return home to reality after the role is played. One of the most significant causes of stress is the thought – I am the role, which is also called an inverted consciousness. The correct consciousnessinstead is that I am a spiritual actor and the role is my act. My role is temporary and not my real self. My real self is me, the soul or being, full of qualities and powers. The more the detachment with the role, the lesser the stress when in the role, things don’t go the way I may want or expect. Also, everyone else is also an actor and sometimes their act will not be as I may expect or predict, but I remain light because I know that positive influence is easier than negative control. If I try to control the other person’s act, I will create a stressful mind, relationship and environment. If I influence the actor instead, by radiating good wishes to him, the other person will change and act positively and I will also be free from stress.

When you smoke you damage your lungs: when you smoke more you damage your lungs more: and if you smoke less you damage your lungs no less – well may be a little less. Your desire to smoke less is most welcome but it is not enough. You must quit your smoking completely and you must do it now, seriously. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest. But don’t fool yourself any smoking is harmful, and you need to seriously get on with quitting it completely and immediately.

Hello, hyperthyroidism is due to excessive circulation of thyroid hormones in body. You might need to limit or avoid foods that contain significant amounts of iodine including: sea salt and iodized salt seafood eggs dairy products plants grown in soil rich with iodine as it is autoimmmune and if you have associated celiac disease than take glutean free diet thanks.

Hi, take tab. Dolo 650 mg 1-1-1 after food for 1-2 days. Keep recording your temparature. If it is too high, do tepid sponging. Wear loose cotton garments. Drink plenty of fluids. Consume light and easily digestable food. Drink boiled and cooled water.

Six to eight hours sleep is enough for everyone better you set your routine that is go early to bed.
