Hi. My baby is 47 days old. Morning time she never sleeps. She sleeps only in night for 5-6 hours. But if I wake her in between for feeding she is not sleeping after that. But if I don't not wake her she sleeps continuously for 6 hours also. Please advise if can I leave her to sleep continuously for 5-6 hours?

Hello, library user, you are lucky enough that your baby sleeps in the night as in most of cases, babies do not sleep in the night & cry for the whole night. However, she should not be left for 6 hrs, continuously without feeding & be breastfed, three hourly. Inculcate your expertise to manage your baby to sleep ,thereafter. Tk, care.

Foods like peanuts, whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, carrots, hot dogs, meat sticks, or hard candies should be kept away from toddlers as they may have problem in chewing them. Give them mashed, cut and easily chewable food.

Can we take a 50 days old baby on flight covering 2 hr journey? Is it safe to take them? Because train journey is 26 hrs to the place we need to visit but we are fearing that there shouldn't be any problem on flight to the baby? Baby is healthy. Born with wgt of 2.97 kg.

Hello lybrate-user, Yes, you can take your baby on the flight. There shouldn't be any problem. Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding your baby during take-off and landing will help his ear pressure adjust and reduce any ear pain and keep the baby comfortable.

My 3 year old daughter has an pus pocket on upper gum. I consulted a dentist who told me it is a tooth abscess. I got second opinion and he said its a gum assess I am confused.

Dentist, Kochi
For an acute dental abscess that causes substantial pain or swelling, the doctor may incise and drain the abscess and/or try therapy with antibiotics. Pain medication is commonly prescribed until the symptoms can be controlled. These initial measures are often necessary to temporarily relieve the signs and symptoms of an acute abscess; however, further treatment directed at eliminating the primary source of the infection is necessary to prevent recurrence. The location of this primary source determines the "definitive" treatment options, which may include root canal treatment, periodontal treatment, or extraction of the tooth.

Initial few months bowels are irregular. No need to worry if baby is active & only breastfed. Don't use dulcolax suppositories even if the stools are not passed for 1 week. Use more tomatoes in the diet.

Mothers milk is best for baby ,give your aunt a wholesome nourishing diet ,she can add roasted cumin seeds to her diet ,give her lactonic granules with milk. If milk secretion does not increase you can give formula milk to the baby ,but proper sterilization should be maintained to avoid infection.
