I am 26 year old and married I am suffering from PCOD and had treatment for more than 1 year. It was suggested to do daily exercise, I did it. Last time I had menses on 11th Feb, inspite of doing daily exercise I am not able to get MC on time. It is a highly tensed situation for me. Please suggest me what to do in this situation.

As per ayurveda pcos and all other menstrual cycle related disorders are vata pradhana vyadhi (diseases) so in this state of condition when you go for higher exercise than it leads your vata vriddhi (increase level of vayu dosha vitiation) and increase your trouble. So avoid it.

Hi M'am Many a times we hesitate to speak out to our family, friends or close ones, but we easily do it with strangers According to me a many problems solve with long conversations, where we pour our heart out, doing this our mind and heart both feel light and refreshed. I suggest you to take your son to a psychologist, let him/her diagnose the level of the problem, if it can be resolved just with counselling sessions or therapies it will be wonderful, if not then only a psychologist will suggest you whether to go a neurologist or a Psychiatrist.

I want loose my wait and I want strong muscle, what is kit to diet. please help me.

General Physician,
I want loose my wait and I want strong muscle, what is kit to diet. please help me.
You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. One pound equals 3,500 calories. If you cut 500 a day from your diet, you'll lose a pound a week. People who lose weight slowly, about 1 to 2 pounds per week, are more successful at keeping the weight off. You'll also burn additional calories if you increase your physical activity. You weight-loss plan should do all of the following: •Emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products. •Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts. •Contain foods low in saturated fats, avoid trans fats, and limit cholesterol and salt (sodium). •Avoid refined sugars and processed foods. Some tips to help you lose weight: •Keep a food diary. Writing down everything you eat is critical! Noting how you feel when you eat will help you identify emotional triggers that may cause you to overeat. Emotional eaters tend to overeat. •Eat when you're truly hungry rather than when you're tired, anxious or stressed. •Eat slowly. If you eat too fast, you eat more than you need to satisfy your hunger. Your brain needs time to catch up with your stomach. •Plan your meals ahead of time so you make healthy choices. When dining out, check the menu online and decide what you will order before you sit down. Ask for dressings on the side. Opt for foods that are baked, broiled or steamed versus fried or swimming in creamy sauces. Avoid chips and bread baskets—they add unnecessary calories. •Stay hydrated. People often mistake thirst for hunger. •Eat breakfast. If you skip this meal, you'll be starving by lunchtime. You'll have more difficulty making healthy choices throughout the day. •Find resources to help you keep track of your food choices and nutritional values, and that can offer additional support when you need it.

Follow these best tips for treatment of hair fall • Add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs.. • To reduce hairfall, Practice Yogasana like SHIRSHASANA and SARWANGASANA only under the guidance of Expert. • you can use MAHABHRINGRAJ TEL of BAIDYANATH COMPANY and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. • Avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo. * Take Vitamin-E rich foods like dry fruits (Almonds, Pista etc) daily. * Apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week. No one feels unhappy and insecure without reason. Something would have happened in the past or your childhood because of which you are feeling this way. Please see a counsellor for further diagnosis and treatment. In your diet you should have vitamin and minerals rich diet with good amount of omega 3 oils. Stop consuming junk and heavy foods. Exercising the body and mind will help you too. Please read my tip on anxiety, depression and negative thoughts. Please click on private chat for a personalised session.

I have recently come to know that I have a LDL of 5.9 mmol/L which according to report is very high. I know high cholesterol means more prone to heart diseases. But I wanted to know the immediate consequences. And is it like diabetes which will carry on for rest of life. I am 27 years old.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your LDL cholesterol seems to be exceptionally high. It definitely poses a serious risk factor for coronary artery diseases. You need to take treatment and reduce it to about <70 mg /100 ml (1.81 mMol/L). If you do not take care by taking necessary drugs, plus dietary changes, then the problem can be recurring. Thanks.

Hello, yperpigmentation could be because of many reasons. So, get thorough body check up done and share the reports with me. Meantime, you can start using Bioforce's Blooume - 55 ointment (for clear skin) twice daily and also use Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen, 20-30 minutes before stepping out under the sun along with oral medication – Sepia 200/ once daily for 20 days. There after revert me back..take care.

Dear lybrate-user, You should review your thyroid levels to understand if you need further modification in the dosage. Regarding hairfall- There are few clinic based treatments which are safe and give good results with consistent efforts. Some diet changes and medications- you can get your hair back. Early intervention is advised.
