This includes eating spicy food on a regular or frequent basis and taking too many drugs like pain killers and analgesics which can lead to this condition. Further, one of the main causes of gastritis as per Ayurveda, is the presence of too much stress and worry, and the lack of a proper routine when it comes to eating, sleeping and exercising.
  • Symptoms: The main symptoms include appetite loss and nausea, as well as discomfort and pain in the abdomen. Gastrointestinal bleeding and blood discharge may also occur for patients suffering from this condition. Headaches and vomiting are also common symptoms of this condition.
  • Medication: There are various Ayurvedic medicines that can help in treating this condition. Sukumara Ghrita are ghee based preparations that can be taken every morning with a glass of warm milk in order to activate the digestive fires and improve the digestive powers. The difference can usually be seen in a matter of days. Dhatri Lauha includes amla juice which should be taken twice a day. Lemon juice, ajwain, amla and ginger are also helpful in such situations.
  • Lifestyle Changes: Avoiding spicy and greasy food as well as stopping alcohol abuse and smoking can help in curing this condition. One should also stay away from excessively stressful mental and physical tasks.

Insulin is the most common treatment prescribed for people affected with diabetes. Diabetes is condition where high amounts of glucose prevail in the blood for an extended period of time. However, there are some drugs that offer an alternative to insulin in treating diabetes, which are

  1. Liraglutide: Liraglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) drug that causes the body to release greater amounts of insulin so as to facilitate the movement of glucose from the blood to the cells. People with type 2 diabetes generally use this treatment. It slows the digestion process and can cause symptoms of headache and nausea.
  2. Pramlintide: It's an artificially produced version of amylin. It is taken by both type 1 and type 2 diabetic patients, facilitates slower digestion of food and therefore controls release of sugar in the blood. It can cause tiredness and nausea.
  3. Dulaglutide: This treatment is for people affected with type 2 diabetes and it is administered once a week. It causes more insulin to be released and pass the glucose to the cells. It can cause loss of appetite, nausea and abdominal cramps as side effects.
  4. Albiglutide: This treatment facilitates pancreas to release insulin and limits the glucagon hormone production. It is used by type 2 diabetes patients who have not taken well to other treatments. The side effects are skin reaction, respiratory tract infection and nausea.
  5. Exenatide: It is a drug that causes pancreas to release insulin that facilitates movement of glucose to cells. It is a treatment for type 2 diabetes and it restricts release of glucagon in the body. The possible side effects are acidity, constipation and vomiting.

Diabetes is often considered as deadly as cancer. It is a disease that requires lifestyle changes and diet modifications. It is also a disease that affects almost the entire system of your body. Whether you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, it will do you a world of good to understand the effects of diabetes. Neurovascular damage is one of the most common effects, this means that diabetes will affect the nerves and blood supply of the body.

While Type 1 diabetes makes its presence felt much earlier and is hereditary quite often, Type 2 appears later in life with age and cumulative stress. The effects of diabetes are related to the duration of the disease. Therefore, people with Type 1 diabetes are more likely to have the symptoms early on and need to learn to manage them.   3. Diabetes also increases the predisposition to urinary tract infections, which can lead to painful sexual experience due to additional vaginal dryness and itching.

People with diabetes know that making small lifestyle changes can go a long way in terms of onset of symptoms, their severity, and the leading of a normal life. Knee arthritis can make it hard to do many everyday activities, such as walking or climbing stairs. It is a major cause of lost work time and a serious disability for many people. There are 2 types of arthritis the knee joint in the human body can get afflicted with. They are:

Osteoarthritis 

The form of arthritis which, with increasing pain, slowly wears down the joint cartilages is called osteoarthritis. This form of arthritis usually affects people after the age 40. The symptoms of osteoarthritis include:

  1. Severe pain in the knee joints
  2. Pain after walking up the stairs and it subsiding once you are on rest
  3. Severe pain after the movement of joints for a long time
  4. Pain that becomes worse in rainy days
  5. Joints becoming stiff after waking up in the morning but they improve in the latter part of the day
  6. Pain which also occurs in the thighs and the genital regions coupled with joints swelling and joints getting stiff after rest.

Rheumatoid arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic form of arthritis caused because of the knee joint inflammations. This form of arthritis can occur at any age. Being an auto-immune disease, its symptoms include, but are not limited to:

  1. Severe pain in the morning
  2. Mild fever accompanying the pain
  3. Joints suddenly becoming swollen, red and warm causing, immense pain
  4. Sudden stiffness of the joints
  5. Pain that increases in cold weather
  6. Mild fever, extreme tiredness and weakening of the muscles

Doctors are still doubtful about what exactly causes the disease; but the deformation of the immune system might cause the damage of the joints, causing people who are already suffering from obesity, smokers, and women, in general, more prone to this disease.

When the knee pain is diagnosed as a form of arthritis, the following treatments are suggested:

  1. If you are overweight or obese, losing some of those extra pounds can go a long way in reducing the pain.
  2. Muscle-stretching exercises are effective in keeping the knee joints flexible.
  3. Dry needling, cupping, taping can help to control the pain and keep the joint supported.
  4. Prescribed dosage of anti-inflammatory drugs such as Tylenol, Motrin, and Advil or injections of hyaluronic acid might relieve your pain.

If regular treatments do not work, you might opt for knee-replacement surgery and osteotomy (the process of cutting a bone with the help of surgery) which might better the alignment of the knee by transforming the bone shapes.

Physiotherapy treatment is aimed at improving the symptoms of the disease (i.e. knee pain, swelling, stiffness), and you should begin to notice a positive difference within one or a few physiotherapy sessions. The main goals of physiotherapy for your knee arthritis are:

- Either sit or stand in a comfortable position for 2-3 minutes
- Bring your thumb about 10 inches in front of your eyes and try to focus on it
- Now try focusing on an object that is about 10-20 feet in front of your eyes
- Try switching between focusing on the other object and your thumb on each deep breath

We all believe that consuming fruit is an uncomplicated task that involves buying, cutting and eating the pieces. But in reality, to reap the benefits, you need to consume it at the right time. When is the best time to eat fruits?

Hair fall could be because of several reasons and could be because of some underlying disease condition or plainly because of nutritional deficiencies. Accomodate green leafy vegetables and dates in your diet. Stop consuming RO water.

Change food habites add in your food calcium vitamins and minerals proteins green vegitabales salad milk end milk products etc Do aerobic excersices yoga will help you take Ķeva Tulsi drops end one bottal of Ķeva Natural hair oil. Add 30 Tulsi drops in hair oil shak well end Massage two times. Wash hair with Ķeva daily Care SHAMPOO two times in a week. Rest Ķeva Tulsi drops take 5 drops in a cup of normal water empty stomach after 30 minuties take breakfast end evening also or 30 minuties before lunch end dinner. Avòid stress end tensions do meditation 5 minuties per day.

Hi. Looks like you suffer from indigestion. 3 main meals of the day are very important. Do not skip breakfast. Avoid constipation. Drink plenty of water. Eat food on fixed time. Some sort of physical exercise is must.

hi my age 83 and sweat a lot in this hot summer. Th bed sheets and my inner garments are wet with sweat. The urine output is less, is it okay? please advise me for that

It's normal to sweat more in summer. But one should replenish the lost fluids and electrolytes in the form of water and juices etc. Severe water loss can cause dehydration and weakness. And also less urine output can cause kidney stone formation and predispose to urine tract infection. It's advisable to avoid exposure to direct sunlight. And wear loose cotton clothes during summer and also to drink 3 to 4 liters of water per day along with fruit juices etc.

If your kidney and heart function is normal drink as much fluid as you can in summers and normally you should pass 5 times urine in a day and should not be dark coloured. Ask me if you have any further queries.

But, for persons who even avoid milk products and also don't eat vitamin B12 fortefied foods then they are at high chance for getting B12 deficiency. B12 deficiency can manifest as weakness and breathlessness due to anemia. So it's advisable to have B12 supplements in diet for elderly people and who are complete vegetarian.

I am done with pelvic abdomen scan, eye testing and MRI scan everything was normal, my doctor diagnosed it to be gastric and gave me pantocid IT tablet for 7 days. Still my problem is not solved. What might be the problem? Please suggest. I am experiencing this post dengue fever.

As your all investigations are normal it appears to be due to Gastritis and reflux oesophagitis in which gastric acid gets its way to oesophagus and causes discomfort and may be associated with Dizziness. Dr. has prescribed good medicine and you may have to continue for two months or so. Please small and frequent feeds with diet devoid of spices. Avoid tobacco alcohol completely. Involve yourself in little good physical activities like morning walk yoga or meditation. Get well soon.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Since she is on treatment for hypothyroidism, it is important to check TSH level periodically. Because if TSH is not in the expected range (2 to 3 mU/L), then most of the symptoms come back. So please check that first. If the level is higher than mentioned, then increase the dose of thyroxine. Presence of swelling shows hypothyroidism is not in control. Thanks.
