Hi, You seem to be having mild side effects of Thyronorm. Most of these side effects will settle down within the first week. You can continue to take the tablet for the next week and see if your symptoms settle or not. If your symptoms DO NOT settle down or if your symptoms INCREASE over next couple of days you can stop the tablet and consult your doctor again. Hope this helps you. Thank you.

My mother is a BP & Sugar patient for last 9yrs. Usually her average monthly Sugar check stands at around Fasting 116 & PP 175. But for last 3months her Fasting sugar showing around 150-160 & PP showing around 180-190. Though our regular physician has changed earlier tablets and also increased the doses with the new tablets, but still her fasting sugar level is not coming down. Please suggest us something. Her tablets for sugar are: 1) GLIMEPIRIDE & METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (SR) Brand Name: GLIMESTAR M1.(1tab before breakfast and 1 tab before dinner). 2) VOGLIBOSE TABLETS IP. Brand Name: VOGLIMAC 0.3 (1 tab before breakfast/before lunch & also before dinner).

Mr. Lybrate-user kumar, the present treatment looks quite good. Fasting and pp levels are a bit high, but those can be managed by following a more strict diet and exercise schedule. I feel there is no further need to add any drugs. Her bmi is 27.55 kg/ m2, which shows she is overweight. Her ideal body weight should be 59 kgs. So all her food intake (calories) should be calculated considering that weight and extent of daily physical exercise and blood sugar levels. Even if she reduces 5 to 7 kgs, sugar level and bp will improve. So please look at that aspect rather than just adding one more drug. With regards.

I am 48 year female, am having diabetes for the past two years. Now am taking ziten 500 mg in the morning and glycomet sr in the night. Sugar levels are under control its 100 and 140 in fasting and after food. I had earlier the problem of a shaky and tired feeling when the dosage was half (i was taking only 500 mg glycomet SR in the night). From january I started taking ziten in the morning and I had no shaky feeling for two months. But now again, though my sugar is almost normal, I am still getting the shaky feeling and fatigue often. Can you advise me why its like this? I find it very difficult to manage my daily routine with this issue. I am also taking Budamate 400 inhaler at times as I have wheezing prob.

Your risk for hand tremors increases with age and can also be influenced by diseases you may have, including diabetes. A sudden onset of a hand tremor may be a sign that blood glucose is too low. However, chronically high blood glucose can also cause a condition known as diabetic neuropathy, which may lead to hand tremors as well. Your SHAKY FEELING can also be due to certain medication for asthma-like salbutamol, theophylline. In case you are taking then you can visit your physician for alternate medications.

Lybrate-user, if hypothyroidism is not well controlled, if tsh levels are not in the normal range, then efforts to control weight do not succeed. So first thing is bring tsh levels down to 3 to 4 milli units, then work on reducing weight. So please check tsh levels and come back. Thanks.
