She is suffering from severe abdomen pain followed by irregular periods, fever and cough and cold. Last 2 years back ...
Thank you for your query lybrate-user ji A pelvic infection generally causes lower abdominal pain, burning and painful urination, fever and sometimes shivering in the patient. Currently you should get the patient treated for the infection, but first she will need to get a urine examination done to confirm the diagnosis .A routine, microscopic and culture of the urine needs to be done. Irregular periods may need to be addressed once her acute infection is taken care of. For further details you may consult me through private chat.

Advice For A Breastfeeding Mom

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Agra
Advice For A Breastfeeding Mom
Health advice for a breastfeeding mom

Breastfeeding mothers need to be conscious and aware of their diets. How the mother eats is how the child gets its nutrition. While they do not need any major changes from what they were eating during the pregnancy, a few adjustments are advised. A few basic adjustments in daily routine are enough. They are:

1. Eat very well - Eat a balanced diet to suit your health. Remember, first it is important to meet your nutritional needs. Only when you are eating well would the quality and quantity of your milk be ideal for your baby. Do not diet under any circumstance. We understand you wish to lose all the pregnancy weight soon, but remember, you child is your priority now. When you diet, your body will start drawing on its reserves. This will affect milk production. By dieting, you will also lack the amount of stamina you need to take care of your baby. Be aware that feeling extra hungry during breastfeeding is normal. Your body is working around the clock. Eat small meals at regular intervals to keep your hunger satisfied, your weight concern at bay and your body strong.

2. Don't count your calories - Not until you are breastfeeding. You need at least 500 calories more than you did when you were not breastfeeding. Don't let this shock you, your child will be feeding off you. There are other ways to regulate your weight and lose the extra pounds gained during pregnancy, do not compromise on food at all.

3. Do not rush to exercise - Consult your doctor and ask for suitable exercises for your body. You might have stitches which are yet to dry, so don't be hasty. Get your workout regime planned professionally and under guidance.

4. Do not avoid fats - Eat healthy foods and opt for good fats. Foods that are good for you and for milk production are a big yes. Foods which do not contribute in any positive way can be done without. They will only harm you in the long run.

5. Avoid alcohol - Stay away, and if you do want to indulge consult your doctor. An occasional drink is usually okay, still it is better you abstain altogether until you stop breastfeeding. And if you do have a drink, feed at least after two hours.

Yes iui is absolutely safe procedure, and you can go for it if you don't want to wait to conceive naturally. It will cost you around 6000 without medication, as use of medicine depends from person to person according to the finding and cause. It has not side effects as its close to natural conceiving, in this process semen is washed and directly inseminated into partner's uterus, no surgery and anesthesia is required.

Can Inverted Nipples be a Sign of Breast Cancer?

Doctor of Medicine, DGO
Gynaecologist,
Can Inverted Nipples be a Sign of Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is a type of a cancerous infection that develops in the skin cells of the breast. This condition is more commonly diagnosed after you have skin cancer and is more common in women than men. There are certain signs to identify this disease, which are as follows.

1. Breast lumps - Lumps are patches of skin that occur due to the thickening and swelling of the skin. Breast lumps is a very common phenomenon for women but that does not always lead to a breast cancer; however, frequent and reoccurring instances of the same increases the risk of breast cancer. A breast lump is easily identifiable through the naked eye as it looks different from the surrounding tissues.

2. Blood discharges - The nipple is one of the most sensitive areas in the human body. In case of women, it is meant to emit milk during pregnancy, in order to feed the infant externally. A probable symptom of breast cancer can also be a frequent discharge of blood from the nipple without any visible damage or injury.

3. Breast changes - If you are experiencing any visible changes in the size, appearance or shape of the breast, then it is an indicative sign that you may have breast cancer. Thus, it is of paramount importance that you observe, touch and physically examine your breast regularly for changes. If there is any major change detected then it is advisable to consult a doctor.

4. Inverted nipple - The tip of the nipple is generally bulging and pointing outwards both in cases of men and women. But sometimes the tip of the nipple is pushed inside due to excessive suction caused by the skin tissues present inside the breast around the nipple area. This suction forces the nipple to grow inwards which is abnormal and might harm the breast and skin in various ways.

However, apart from these main symptoms, some other signs are also there that increase your chances of being diagnosed with breast cancer. They are redness or pitting of the skin over your breast like an orange, peeling or scaling of the pigmented area around the nipple, dimpling of the skin on the breasts, and such others.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

My mother is 47 years old and she is suffering from uterus fibroid about 6.5×5.5 cm in size. Is hysterectomy is only option of this problem? please doctor reply me as soon as possible.

Surgery depends on the symptoms and location of the fibroids. If symptoms are severe then surgery is the best option.
