Hi lybrate-user Allow the pain to settle first Take Physiotherapy treatment if it is persisting U need to strengthen the shoulder muscles before starting weights again Go slow Visit a physiotherapist nearby and start with the strengthening programme for shoulder.

good morning as you have mentioned your daily program just wanted to know are you doing all these things on a daily basis or you alternate them as cycling with running one day and gyming another day and please tell me are you having enough supplementation such as vitamin calcium proteins after or pre workout I would have suggested you to do back strengthening exercises and stretching exercises prior and post your workout cycling it cell give lot of stress on your back if you are riding for this distance so please distribute your load and start doing stretching exercises or show it to some orthopedician for better evaluation thank you

Harish... Backache after trauma should be investigated with X rays If X Rays already done and are normal then pain can be due to muscle contusion. In this case you need to do following 1. Hot water fomentation. 2. apply some analgesic gel gently 3. take Vitamin C supplements 4. Do gentle stretching exercises Consult if required

Hello there! My father is having severe lower back pain since Tuesday morning. He's unable to move at all. All he can do is go washroom that too with mom's help. This happened few months back too. He used Homeopathy meds and got better. He's using the meds since yesterday and there's no improvement. What can be done to give him relief? Any food to give enough nourishment to the bones? Severe lower back pain and restricted mobile can be because of muscles spasm. Apply lukewarm sesame oil on lower back and take hot water bag thrice a day. He should take complete bed rest for 4 to 5 days. He should restrict forward bending and carrying heavy weights. He can eat calcium and protein rich food for example egg whites ; Moong in any form; guava; nachani; milk etc. He should food items which are heavy to digest. If no relief in 1 or 2 days then consult your doctor for X ray. Ayurvedic medicines ; basti ; Katibasti will reduce the pain and prevent recurrence.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello doctor, I just want to ask that my hand pains whenever I lie down and type in my cell phone. I can't use my phone for more than 1 min while lying down. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Inform after 5 days.

Dear Ashish. I have read your question and understand your concern regarding heel and Knee pain. You are just 34! You have plantar fascitis problem on both heels. You will need to do stretching exercises for calf, ankle and toe. There are special exercises which will help you. Along with this, contrast bath will be helpful. For knees, you need some medicines and Knee exercises. It may be because of unaccustomed posture. You will get relief with stretching of knees and some modification is sitting.
