The dryness is because of your thyroid problem.Soaps vil dry out your skin, so they r an absolute no. No vigorous rubbing of skin on face or body. Before bath, oil body with any oil be it coconut, olive. Use a soap free body wash or a dermatologically tested medical soap. After bath, pat dry within three minutes and apply moisturiser. Include dry fruits like almond, walnuts, figs, groundnuts. Have plenty of salmon, mackerel and sardine. Drink two litres of water. Have roasted flaxseeds. Avoid alcohol and aerated drinks or they vil dehydrate u more.Use loose cotton clothes. Avoid woollen clothes directly on body. Use it over cotton clothes if required. use aquasoft lotion twice daily.

Mr. lybrate-user, If diabetes is under good control then fasting blood glucose should be closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1 c% <6.8. If good control is not achieved, then many long term complications of diabetes related to eyes (retina), nerves, kidney, peripheral vessels leading to lower limb problems and coronary artery diseases tend occur early. Other than modern medicines, there are no drugs to control blood glucose levels effectively in any of the alternate practices. If you have been able to achieve blood glucose levels as mentioned above then that is really good. Thanks.

Lybrate-user, most often diabetes hardly produces any symptoms, hence many people do not come to know about it. When fully developed it may cause excess urination, excess hunger, excess thirst, unexplained weight loss and tiredness. Also passing urine in the night 2 or 3 times. A person with diabetes should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, fructose corn syrup containing products and high fat milk products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits about 100 g a day. Exercise daily for at least 1 hour a day, to avoid weight increase and improve insulin action.

I would like you give me some more details like fasting & pp blood sugar levels, hba1c level, lipid profile and medicines being taken. From your explanation it appears that diabetes control is not good. The swellings that you have mentioned are they red, pointing and painful on touch, if so they must be furruncles and on top this if you have developed foot ulcer then it is more serious matter. If you are not on insulin already, please start it straight away with your doctor's advise. If surgery is advised please get it done. Only antibiotics may not be able to resolve the matter.

Hello, Talk to your concern doctor. Management: -Meditate for at least 15 to 30 minutes each day physically changes your brain, making you less anxious, and more rational and empathetic. -Besides increasing your physical strength and flexibility, yoga changes your brain. Research suggests that in addition to reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, yoga protects the brain from shrinking with age. -Exercise daily as it would can help offset the cognitive decline brought on by aging and increasingly sedentary lifestyles. -Get enough sleep. On average, adults need between 7.5 and 9 hours of sleep each night. When you aren’t getting enough sleep, it affects your brain’s ability to do this, and your memory suffers. -Spend time with people whose company you enjoy, and who make you feel like the best version of you. -laughter can improve short-term memory in older adults. -Cutting down on your use of technology (i.e. sitting in front of your computer, phone, or tablet) for even 30 minutes can improve your brain health and help you think more deeply. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine for increasing memory - Anacardium 200/ once daily.

Hi, I'm Prabha, 36 years old. I'm diabetic and taking medicines. During the intake of medicine also, fasting blood sugar (107) is more than normal value and after food blood sugar is within the range. How to control that? What type of diabetics I'm having?

107 Fasting Sugar is in normal range. You have not mentioned PP level. Also A1C test will give confirmatory results. Type of Diabetes is Type 2 since you must have had this problem in adulthood. Your BMI is currently 39.82 which falls in Obese Cl 2. Closer to Cl 3. Your body is carrying about 32 kgs extra weight. You need to work on this and bring your weight down. Every step you take will help you to reduce your Diabetes Levels and other symptoms you are facing. I can presume you are on to some food addictions. Find a way to break them. Better to join some organised aerobic/dance/yoga classes. Eat more fruits and salads and drink more water. You are young today and you can take steps to be fitter and healthier. Never give up.

Hi, thanks for writing in to us. I have read through your query in detail. It looks like there is no problem in your brain if your mri scan is normal. However many people continue to have symptoms of vertigo due to problems in the inner ear. The inner ear contains the vestibular system which participates in maintaining balance and gait. There are tiny hair cells in the ear which are surrounded by fluid. Changes in the characteristics of these hair cells and fluid might give rise to chronic vertigo. Chronic ear infection is also to be tested. Please consult an ent specialist and get test done for vertigo and nystagmus. Hope your blood investigations are normal. Regards,

Hello. The pregnancy rate per cycle is 20-30% and this also declines with age. The mdicines that you are on are gonna help you. Just take a balanced diet with gud amt of protein that might help with hair fall and consult your doc if you do not conceive in another six months.

Mr. P lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Fasting blood glucose level is when blood glucose is tested after 10 to 12 hours of yur last meal. That is if you take dinner at 9 pm at night, then test blood glucose in the morning by 7 to 8 am. PP is (post prandial) blood glucose - 2 hours from the beginning of your food intake either breakfast or lunch. It should be a normal food intake. Thanks.
