These white lines are due to stretch Marks due to overweight problem---------------Stretch marks are the off-coloured stripes or streaks formed on the skin as a result of swift stretching of skin or weight changes. They mainly appear on abdomen due to pregnancy or obesity. In dermatology, they are termed as Striae. They are formed due to hormonal changes related to pregnancy, puberty, hormone replacement therapy, etc. Stretch marks can be commonly seen on waist, thighs, lower backs, hips, breasts, arms, and buttocks. Cocoa butter is famous for its anti-wrinkling and anti-aging properties. It helps in enhancing the blood circulation, which reduces stretch marks. Massage the affected area with cocoa butter at least two times a day. Repeat the process for two months and notice the reduced scars. Else, mix half cup of cocoa butter with one tablespoon of wheat germ oil, one teaspoon of tea kernel oil, two teaspoons of grated beeswax, and vitamin E oil. Heat the mix until the beeswax melts. Apply it on the stretch marks twice or thrice a day. The mixture can be stored in a sealed box in the refrigerator.------------------------------. Physical Exercise One must regularly do physical exercises, like abdominal crunches, sit-ups, swimming, etc. Which tone the underlying muscles and remove the ugly stretch marks. Here are some exercises, which are beneficial to remove stretch marks: Useful Tips •Consume protein, zinc and Vitamin C rich foods in abundance. Green salad, milk, fish, nuts and citrus fruits help a lot in diminishing stretch marks. •Do yoga and other physical exercises on the regular basis. •Pregnant women should not use creams and solutions, prepared from chemicals. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

Joints pain are symbol of starting of gout which basic cause is uric acid deposition in the joints gap. It is advisable to take less protein diet have less meat, chicken, palak, paneer, tomatoes. Sir i'm 65 yrs old and having both knee joint pain because of osteoporosis for the last five years. Major problem I have while walking but otherwise there is no swelling and I don't take any pain killers. I can stand for 15-20minutes. Please advise treatment except knee replacement. Thanks

You have right to choose treatment. Doctors will advise best treatment for you. If problem is since 5 years, it's high time to get complete relief. You will need replacement either now or in a couple of years. So why do you want to increase your suffering. Knee replacement gives best results.

Exercises For Sciatica

The sciatic nerve is one of the largest nerves in the body. It goes from the lower back all the way down to the base of the leg. When there is a disorder associated with the sciatic nerve, it is known as Sciatica. 

Sciatica, however, does not necessarily need a surgery or a very elaborate procedure to fix the problem. Most commonly, it is treated simply by practicing a number of simple exercises. Here are some of the most common exercises prescribed to treat Sciatica:

  1. Reclining Pigeon Pose: There are three main forms of the pigeon pose. These are sitting, reclining and then forwarding. It is recommended that if you have very recently started your treatment for Sciatica, then certainly you should go for the reclining pose. In this pose, you are supposed to hold your left leg in the air at a right angle to your back. Then, hold your ankle against the knee. Finally, repeat this stretch with the right leg as well.
  2. Knee to Opposite Shoulder: In this stretch, the starting position is on your back side. You have to have your legs out and feet upwards. From this position, try to bring your right leg towards your left shoulder. Hold this for 30 seconds and then release and relax. Repeat this activity three times and repeat the whole procedure with your other leg. Only take your leg as far as it goes.
  3. Sitting Spinal Stretch: At the start of this exercise, sit on the ground with your legs going straight outwards and your feet flexed in the upward direction. Pull your left knee and put it on the outside of your right knee. Finally, place your right elbow on the left knee, so that your body turns to the left. Hold for 30 seconds and then relax. Repeat the procedure with the other knee.
  4. Standing Hamstring Stretch: Put your foot on an elevated surface such that it is above the floor, but not above hip level. Flex your toes forward such that your feet and legs are nearly in a straight line. Bend as far towards the foot as possible. However, do not stretch so far that you feel pain. Finally, repeat this procedure on the other side after release.

Ok, please try for the laser therapy 6 to 10 session may do some change for your back pain please don't discontinue your spinal extension exercises planks, core strengthening exercises, hamstring stretching, standing balance on stability disc or you may try for seragem for one month.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It is natural to have some degenerative changes in your lower back region seeing your age. But if you do not have any other symptoms like leg pains, numbness, weakness in legs, paresthesias ( electrical shock like sensations) and your pain is only localized to your back region, then I would think the best way to move ahead is with good and intensive physical therapy under supervision. Also kindly tell me how much distance can you walk without pain? do you take pain killers for walking? also take regular calcium medications and vitamin d as required to keep your bone metabolism intact.
