Hyperglycemia is another term for high blood sugar. It is normal to have a spike in blood sugar after a meal, but chronically high blood sugar causes severe health issues. When we consume healthy sources of carbohydrates with plenty of good fat and protein, the glucose from the meal enters our blood in a slowly, and the pancreas responds by secreting a measured amount of insulin. Insulin shuttles the right amount of glucose into the cells and it is used for energy. There is not excess insulin running around in the blood stream to promote inflammation. We avoid “sugar highs” and “sugar lows” with balanced blood sugar throughout the day. We can easily go 3 hours or more between eating without experiencing sugar cravings or feeling shaky, irritable or tired. Since blood sugar imbalances perpetuate inflammation, stable blood sugar reduces inflammation and helps balance hormones. Because stable blood sugar means no sugar or carb cravings, even stubborn weight starts to melt away with balanced blood sugar levels.

Regardless of your age, sex, body measurements - the blood sugar value considered normal are equal for all humans. Fasting blood sugar should never be greater than 126 mg/dl - beyond that is diabetes. If it is greater than 110 mg/dl - that makes it pre-diabetes. Your hair fall can be due to common factors like vitamin deficiencies, thyroid etc. You need to get it checked.

Well in any case the news is not good. PP in all labs is above the limit. Fasting on average is also high. This is classical presentation of Increase level of sugar in blood, aka- Diabetes Mellitus. You shall see a qualified physician around and start your medications at the earliest. The difference is lab reports also varies depending upon what food you had during that same week. Please start the medicine as early as possible. There is nothing to be afraid you will have to take medicine and a simple per day is nothing to have a normal life. Rest your doctor will advise you on examination. You can also follow: 1. Walk for 30 -40 min in morning and evening. 2. Have low quantities of sugar, rice, potato and anything sweet. 3. Take small meals avoid over eating. 4. Try to keep yourself occupied in some work or other, anything of your choice. 5. Have lots of salads comprising of stuffs advised by your doctor.

I recommend to control your sugar level 1) a healthy and well balanced diet having regular meals. Divide your meals into 5 to 6 times. 2) one teaspoon of methi seeds soaked overnight in 100 ml of water is very effective in controlling diabetes 3) good fats such as omega-3 and monounsaturated fats (mufa) should be consumed as they are good for the body like olive oil 4) diet should be high in fiber. Let whole grain cereals & flour, salad vegetables, green leafy vegetables & fruits.

diabetes one has to take anti diabetic drugs or insulin injections as advised, and also observe dietary restrictions, exercise daily for more than 1 h and avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk food and pastries. Mr. Lybrate-user, it is possible that there is fungal infection on the prepuce which may be causing those cracks. It is essential to check your blood sugars, if there is high glycosuria that can cause frequent infection. So keep blood sugar in good control like fasting closer to 100 mg and pp 150 to160 mg and hba1c%<7. This would avoid repeated fore skin infections. Circumcision could be good option but glucose control is most important.
