YES, it can be diabetic neuropathy. long standing diabetic complication. the symptoms are pain, numbness, tingling or burning sensation particularly in lower limb extremities. there are many good medicines to provide relief, but remember the thing which benefits most in the long run is tight glycemic control.

For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in fat and high in fibre. Avoid bakery products. Avoid too much rice and potato. Avoid fried stuff. Avoid chocolate, cakes, ice cream, soft drinks and fruit juices. Eat lots of vegetables. Walk for at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week. Insulin will work better if taken in combination with diet and exercise.

One thing u can do is change the brand and see if u find any relief as metformin is a very good medicines. You can try cetapin XR 500 thrice daily. Also use tab pantodac 40 for 15 days. If symptoms don't resolve, then guess we need to stop metformin.

It will be better if you give following details Fasting, PP current levels, HbA1c%, drugs being taken for diabetes with dosage, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Based on those details I will be able to give some suggestions. Thanks.
