Liver enzymes are normal, c reactive protein is high -it can be due to infection/inflammation anywhere in the body, need not be due to heart or only due to heart in absence of specific symptoms of other organs, apo-1 is normal it is a fat+protein combo in blood that is water soluble and keeps circulating in the blood, in a way it reflects the good cholesterol which should be at a higher level to prevent blockages in the blood vessels, apo-b is very high -means it is a precursor of bad cholesterol in the blood that is responsible for blockages and plaque formation. Your dm-2 is under control with medication. You have to bring down apo-b by cutting down bad fats like transfats, oily food, etc which I am sure you are doing to control your dm. By increasing good cholesterol precursors like apo-1 & other apos except b (remember b for bad) your chances of getting bad fats on higher levels will get reduced. Take water with a spoon of honey (allowed for dm) with juice of a lemon every morning on empty stomach -it does burn bad fats, eat a spoon of good fats like desighee/ butter + a katori of assorted nuts every day (allowed for dm) cut down extra carbs in place of good calories gained.

Mr. Lybrate-user, there are many reasons for early hair fall. But if you have hypothyroidism then that can be one of the main causes for hair fall. Since you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, so please see that a good control is achieved with tsh levels down to 3 - 4 milli units/l. If that is not achieved, then symptoms of hypothyroidism including hair fall will not go away. In fact hair fall is the last thing to get corrected. Plus you are also over weight with a bmi of 26.98 kgs/m2. Even efforts to reduce weight also are not successful when tsh levels are high. So please take care. Thanks for the question.

Urgent treatment with intravenous glucose and glucagon injections can control severe hypoglycemia. In case of lantus (glargine) basal insulin action lasts for 24 hrs and starts after 2 -4 hrs. So we can prevent severe hypoglycemia if we start glucose infusion within 2 hrs and maintained for 24 hrs. Different insulin have diff actions.

For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.

Your blood sugar levels clearly show that you have developed t2dm, at a much earlier age. It would be better if you start treatment with insulin for first few months and control it better, later you can be shifted on to oral anti diabetics. The reason I am saying this is the glucotoxicity that harms the beta cells of pancreas can be better controlled and there is good possibility that beta cell activity revives rapidly with this treatment. Later insulin can be withdrawn and oral drugs can be substituted. Because of your younger age you have to be very careful in getting the sugar levels in good control. For any help you are welcome to ask me.

Make sure you take thyroid medicine properly and control thyroid level. You need to have a diet and exercise plan based on your BMI, age & weight and sex, presence of any diseases. There are exercises specific for each part of body like hips, thighs or abdomen. There are matters to be discussed privately. Comprehensive exercise& diet plan based on whether vegetarian /non vegetarian can be given if you ask privately. May also need to do some tests. In brief, weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/4 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. For more detailed and personal advice ask me privately www. Lybrate. Com/drsajeev. It is essential and useful to have a doctor answer your doubts online as it time spent in going to a clinic. Majority of diseases can be treated by online by consultation with an experienced doctor and does not need physical examination. You can ask me privately at this site. Regards.

Mr. Lybrate-user, your friend may be having t1 diabetes, which needs insulin injections as treatment, as in t1 dm there is no insulin produced by beta cells of pancreas. So if starts taking that plus proper diet control and some physical exercise, he should be able to improve the health. But treatment is for lifetime.

It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance.

As you have no side effects now you try to stop it and check your nose for block. Using levocet m tab will hlep in allergic block this medication provides only temporary relief. Do not use more often, use more sprays, or use longer than directed because doing so may increase the risk of side effects.
