Hai I am suffering from asthma from childhood it self it stokes me if I change the location or any place and night time. If I take the medication suggest by the doctor I clam down I am using aerocort rota capsules cipla as a medication. Pls suggest me the ptmenant cure for this thank you for lybrate.

MD(Ayu), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bhavnagar
I strongly recommended start ayurveda, as allopathy only subsides. Actually asthma is a vata dominant disease. In monsoon it may be increased. You have not given detail history & symptoms. Bt main treatment mentioned in our ancient text are mild purgation, massage, steam & oral medication. Stop causative factor like curd, day sleep, over eating, to eat without hunger, excess drinking water, sweety, salty & sour food. I am suggesting you 3 things 1) drink only half boiled water. Don't take unboiled water 2) ginger + turmeric- 2 2 teaspoon with old honey, before food 30 min 3) bishop weed seed+ cumin seed 2 2 spoon, whole seed after breakfast n each meal. Give follow up.

Hi doctor. My age is 28. I got tuberculosis before 1 year. After 9 months of treatment everything is ok. Before my treatment I drunk and smoke regularly. After treatment I do not want to smoke. But I just want to drink alcohol. So can I drink 1 time per month. It is possible?

MBBS, DNB (Respiratory Diseases)
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
It is good that you don't want to smoke. Kick the butt (of cigarette) forever. In regards to drinking alcohol, It is not advisable in general but socially in limited quantity is ok. That said, your life is in your hands, drink socially and drink responsibly. Once a month is ok but drink 1-2 pegs only. Lastly, Congratulations on winning over tb.

What medications are best for the treatment of asthma? What are their side effects?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello. Bronchitis/ asthma can be treated well with homoeopathic medicines completely without any side-effects! only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for sometime. Keep taking your already on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take bakson's astha-aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.

MBBS
General Physician,
You are having allergic bronchitis or pharyngitis do warm saline gargle regularly have homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin c thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevents infection. In the mean time you can have a tab cetrezine as and when required. It will be alright.

I have dry cough at last night. I have taken tusq tab in morning. So what can I do for this?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
For dry cough.Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough.(1 tsp thrice daily) -Productive cough:it brings up mucus from behind the throat or the lungs. These coughs should not be suppressed to the point that they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. -Get chest xray done if cough lasts for more than a week and consult doctor immediately.
