Hello, pregnancy can be avoided by oral contraceptive pills, barrier contraceptioves or an intrauterine contraceptive device. The indications can be decided by the doctor. Pregnancy symptoms are vague and similar to pms, hence a urone pregnancy test after 8 days post missed periods should be confirmatory.

10 Healing Powers of Grapes

10 Healing Powers of Grapes:

1. Power up your weight loss:

Exciting research led by maryanne dellafera, phd at the university of georgia found that resveratrol (particularly when combined with soy isoflavones) works on the body in two ways to significantly assist with weight loss efforts: 1) it dramatically reduces cells' ability to store fat by about 130 percent; and 2) causes fat cells to disintegrate at a rate 246 percent higher than normal.

2. Protect your heart:

In research, resveratrol demonstrated the ability to improve the dilation of blood vessels, which may allow blood to flow more easily through blood vessels. It has also been shown to relax the walls of the blood vessels, making their diameter larger, thereby lowering blood pressure, and allowing a higher volume of blood to flow through all areas of the body, delivering increased oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells. Another study found that just 10 mg of supplementary resveratrol resulted in a dramatic reduction in heart-attack risk factors.

3. Mop up brain damaging plaques:

Studies at the university of switzerland proved resveratrol's brain-protecting ability. They found that resveratrol mopped up brain-damaging plaques and free radicals, which have been linked to alzheimer's disease. So powerful is this important nutrient that it has even been referred to as 'reverse-it-all' by many health practitioners.

4. Improve brain power:

In a british study, students given resveratrol increased blood flow to their brains by 200 percent. Scientists believe resveratrol can help speed our mental responses.

5. Protect your skin from cancer:

In numerous studies, resveratrol has had a positive effect on cancer. Research also shows that resveratrol protects the skin from damaging uvb rays of the sun, thereby protecting it against skin cancer.

6. Protect your body from radiation:

What's more, this potent nutrient has even been shown to protect the body against radiation therapy when used as an adjunct to radiation treatment of cancer.

7. Turn on your longevity gene:

In one study, scientists identified resveratrol as a nutrient that activated the human gene for survival and longevity.

8. Fight diabetes:

Prediabetics given resveratrol had a 10 percent drop in blood sugar levels, according to research by the albert einstein college of medicine.

9. Turn down inflammation:

Resveratrol works as an anti-inflammatory, which may be one of the reasons it may be effective for heart disease.

10. Supports muscle recovery:

As a potent antioxidant, it supports the cells and organs in eliminating uric acid and other toxins from the body, supporting muscle recovery for athletes.

Tips to Choose the Right Doctor

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
Tips to Choose the Right Doctor

Looking for the doctor is not always easy. It is even harder when you go out of network and locate a practitioner that can meet your health needs. However, if you are prepared and informed, your will be able to choose the right one. You can also use our tips to find the right one. Read on to find out more about the tips.

1. Look for an Integrative Doctor

In traditional medicine, the objective is to find out the core cause of the disease and then prescribe the right medicine. If you have a health issue, you may want to look for a good integrative doctor. To find the right one, you can ask friends, family or your colleagues. The goal of integrative medicine is to heal a person with a certain health condition.

Make sure you go with a practitioner that has a good deal of knowledge. Moreover, the professional should use a holistic approach in order to treat you. He should find out the root cause of your condition instead of treating the symptoms.

2. Symptoms and Underlying Causes

Today, doctors consider symptoms of a condition to prescribe medicine. On the other hand, an experienced integrative physician will take into account your illness symptoms and then try to find out the root cause of the symptoms. In the end, they may prescribe the right treatment. So, before you hire one, make sure they can identify and address the underlying cause of the problem.

3. A Coach, not a Friend

Your doctor is your coach, not a friend. The doctor will let you know what to do and what not. But it's also your responsibility to follow their advice. So, during the interview, you should try to find out if the doctor is going to play the role of a doctor or coach. Remember: if the practitioner is friendly, doesn't mean he is going to act like a friend.

4. Dispensary

It's a good idea to buy medicine from the doctor's dispensary. You may want to ask each potential practitioner if they operate their own dispensary. The dispensary should not have just nutritional supplements. In fact, it should have herbal products, natural meds, homeopathic remedies, biological medicines and minerals, to name a few.

5. Insurance

You are not bound to hire an insured doctor. As a matter of fact, top integrative doctors are not insured. The reason is that the paperwork and bureaucracy may waste a lot of the doctor's time. Moreover, it may limit the therapeutic options a doctor may use. According to a study, doctor's spend more time doing paperwork than checking patients in their office.

Primary Signs Of A Brain Stroke!

DM - Neurology, MD - Medicine, MBBS
Neurologist, Gurgaon
Primary Signs Of A Brain Stroke!

A stroke, also known as cerebrovascular accident (CVA), cerebrovascular insult(CVI), or brain attack, can occur when a part of the brain is deprived of blood flow. When brain cells are deprived of oxygen they begin to die, due to which the functions controlled by that part of the brain also stops, which results in different types of disabilities among stroke survivors.

There are two types of strokes

  • Hemorrhagic
  • Ischemic stroke

The first is caused when a brain aneurysm or a weak blood vessel bursts. Most of the time, this type of stroke leads to death. The second one happens when a clot blocks the flow of blood to the brain. Patients suffering from stroke suffer from various side-effects, the most common ones being paralysis or loss of feeling in a certain part of the body, problem in understanding or talking and loss of vision on one side. The side-effects start showing up immediately after a person has had a stroke.

In certain conditions, blood flow to a certain part of the brain stops for only some time and hence the body suffers stroke-like symptoms which only last a couple of hours before disappearing. This is known as a transient ischemic attack (TIA). Unfortunately, the effects of a stroke can be debilitating and also permanent. Hence, it's important to know the symptoms of a stroke and rush the patient to a doctor as soon as possible. Sometimes early treatment can save a lot of damage.

The primary symptoms of stroke are as follows:

  1. Confusion and problems while talking and comprehension
  2. Headache along with alteration of consciousness or vomiting
  3. Numbness of the face, arms or legs, especially on one side of the body
  4. Issue with seeing, through one or both eyes
  5. Inability to walk with stability, including disrupted coordination
  6. Problems with the bladder and bowel control
  7. Acute depression
  8. Body temperature fluctuates, and pain worsens with movement
  9. Paralysis on one side of the body along with fatigue
  10. Problem in expressing or controlling emotions

Risk Factors:

Diagnosis of stroke

Several tests are carried out to determine the type of stroke, such as

  1. Physical examination, which involves observing the patient's overall condition.
  2. Blood tests
  3. CT scans
  4. MRI scans
  5. Cerebral angiogram
  6. Echocardiograms

Stroke is a fatal brain disease and can cause permanent damage to your system so its best to check with doctor to know how you can prevent it.

Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, also known as morning sickness, is very common in early pregnancy. It's unpleasant, but it doesn't put your baby at any increased risk and usually clears up by weeks 16 to 20 of pregnancy. Some women get a very severe form of nausea and vomiting called hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), which can be very serious. It needs specialist treatment, sometimes in hospital. Find out more about hyperemesis gravidarum. With morning sickness, some women are sick (vomit) and some have a feeling of sickness (nausea) without being sick. The term "morning sickness" is misleading. It can affect you at any time of the day or night, and some women feel sick all day long. It's thought hormonal changes in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are probably one of the causes of morning sickness. Symptoms should ease as your pregnancy progresses. In some women, symptoms disappear by the third month of pregnancy. However, some women experience nausea and vomiting for longer than this, and about 1 woman in 10 continues to feel sick after week 20. How common is morning sickness? During early pregnancy, nausea, vomiting and tiredness are common symptoms. Around half of all pregnant women experience vomiting, and more than 80% of women (80 out of 100) experience nausea in the first 12 weeks.  People sometimes consider morning sickness a minor inconvenience of pregnancy, but for some women it can have a significant adverse effect on their day-to-day activities and quality of life. Treatments for morning sickness If you have morning sickness, your local doctor or midwife will initially recommend that you try a number of changes to your diet and daily life to help reduce your symptoms. These include: getting plenty of rest – tiredness can make nausea worseif you feel sick first thing in the morning, give yourself time to get up slowly – if possible, eat something like dry toast or a plain biscuit before you get updrinking plenty of fluids, such as water, and sipping them little and often rather than in large amounts, as this may help prevent vomitingeating small, frequent meals that are high in carbohydrate (such as bread, rice and pasta) and low in fat – most women can manage savoury foods, such as toast, crackers and crispbread, better than sweet or spicy foodseating small amounts of food often rather than several large meals – but don't stop eatingeating cold meals rather than hot ones as they don't give off the smell that hot meals often do, which may make you feel sickavoiding foods or smells that make you feel sickavoiding drinks that are cold, tart (sharp) or sweetasking the people close to you for extra support and help – it helps if someone else can cook, but if this isn't possible, go for bland, non-greasy foods, such as baked potatoes or pasta, which are simple to preparedistracting yourself as much as you can – the nausea can get worse the more you think about itwearing comfortable clothes without tight waistbands If you have severe morning sickness, your doctor or midwife might recommend medication. Anti-sickness remedies If your nausea and vomiting is severe and doesn't improve after you make changes to your diet and lifestyle, your GP may recommend a short-term course of an anti-sickness medicine that is safe to use in pregnancy. This type of medicine is called an antiemetic. The commonly prescribed antiemetics can have side effects. These are rare, but can include muscle twitching. Some antihistamines (medicines often used to treat allergies such as hay fever) also work as antiemetics. Your doctor might prescribe an antihistamine that is safe to take in pregnancy. See your local doctor if you would like to consider this form of treatment. Ginger eases morning sickness There is some evidence that ginger supplements may help reduce nausea and vomiting. To date, there have not been any reports of adverse effects being caused by taking ginger during pregnancy. However, ginger products are unlicensed in the UK, so buy them from a reputable source, such as a pharmacy or supermarket. Check with your pharmacist before you use ginger supplements. Some women find that ginger biscuits or ginger ale can help reduce nausea. You can try different things to see what works for you Taking folic acid in has also been found to be useful.

Hi Mukesh. It seems you have developed a sinus after c section site infection. Your scar site should be opened and the internally collected pus should be drained. With such severe infection, plain oral antibiotics will not be sufficient. injective antibiotics with daily would dressing would be needed otherwise this infection can become even worse.
