Radiculopathy Is A disease of the root of a nerve, such as from a pinched nerve or a tumour and you have vertebral disc prolapse in C5 area and MRI and physiotherapy are needed in the initial stage and as you are young it is easily correctable .The symptoms of radiculopathy depend on which nerves are affected. The nerves exiting from the neck (cervical spine) control the muscles of the neck and arms and supply sensation there. The nerves from the middle portion of the back (thoracic spine) control the muscles of the chest and abdomen and supply sensation there..Fortunately, most people can obtain good relief of their symptoms of radiculopathy with conservative treatment. This may include anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy or chiropractic treatment, and avoiding activity that strains the neck or back. The majority of radiculopathy patients respond well to this conservative treatment, and symptoms often improve within 6 weeks to 3 months. If patients do not improve with the treatments listed above they may benefit from an epidural steroid injection.

Smoking can affect your appetite. Muscle gain is ideally attained with exercise and a proper diet. If you have hyperthyroidism, then you will have a problem gaining weight. Then there is the possibility that your level of metabolism is higher than normal due to many factors one of which is stress. So it is worth meeting with a counselor and talking about the stress and leading a more composed life.

Diabetes cannot be cured. If managed well enough, it can be curtailed to avoid complications such as kidney failure, amputation, blindness and stroke. Preventing or managing diabetes requires clinical interventions as well as lifestyle changes. Medication is only one small part of managing diabetes. The major changes come from self-care activities. There are five essential self-care behaviours that have good outcomes. 1.Diet – Consume a low-fat, high-fibre diet helps. Eat lot of fruits, vegetables (at least 4-5 helping a day) along with whole meal, cereals and lentils 2.Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. 3.Medications – Be compliant with the dosages. 4.Testing - Monitoring blood sugar and screening for complications 5.Psychology – Acceptance, coping and problem solving skills.

Gradual weight gain is always advisable. An increase in 500 kcal per day can result in increasing the body weight by 0.5 kgs per week. Objective should be to restore a desirable weight/ ideal body weight according to one's age, gender and height. To rebuild body tissues, to maintain a good nutritional status and to maintain ideal body weight are a few reasons why healthy weight gain is important.

1. If you take care of diet, do daily exercise, and bring your weight down, you can bring down sugar levels and lead a healthy life. >> >> Avoid 3 big meals. Instead take small mini meals every 2/3 hours. Take green vegetables/salad with every minimeal..>> Eat whole grain food/grains like ragi, wheat, jowar, barley, instead of refined grains like maida/ sooji/ white bread, white rice etc.>> Avoid all forms of simple sugars like Colas, juices, sweets, cakes, biscuits, pizzas, noodles etc..>> Eat fruits  with low/medium GI index like apple, guava, mosambi, orange.  .>> Do at least 30-45 mins of exercise everyday. My father has sugar
My father is 56 years old
Which particular food can be took
Please answer me to this question.
Dear, since your father has high sugar, he should follow a strict diet wherein he should restrict intake of sugar & sweetened foods like cakes, chocolates, mithai etc. He should have more of fibrous foods like fruits & vegetables, dry fruits. He should also avoid fried foods which increase weight &are harmful on such a condition. Along with diet he should also do some regular exercise like walking, jogging etc to keep his sugar indrt control.

BP medicines - pulse rate is on lower side , you are taking blood thinners also and a medicine to produce more urine to reduce load on heart due to congestive heart failure , plus you must be taking injection insulin for type 1 diabetes and a restricted diet. Take adequate amounts of potassium present in oranges , lemon , amla and drink more water and juices as allowed in your diet chart. Consult your treating doctor if need be.
