Dear lybrateuser, -one ounce of cashews (16-18 nuts) provide 163 calories, if you eat multiple servings then it will lead to increase in weight, therefore if you are dieting & want to loose weight then one serving, 16 -18 nuts is ok -it is more beneficial to have a handful of mixed nuts- almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews as they will provide more fibre, protein & vitamins & minerals beneficial to the body.

Hi I would like to know since when does she have cellulitis and what diabetic medication is she on. 282 is a high value and can be because of cellulitis. She first needs to be treated for her cellulitis and then gradually her blood sugars will also settle.

1. Take one tablet of crocin advance sos upto a maximum of three tablets daily after food 2. Cold sponging sos 3. Drink plenty of water 4. Take rest 4. If no relief do blood examination like esr, cbc, widal/ typhidot test, blood for mp/malaria antigen and dengue antigen (ns1) test, urine re/me after consulting physician and follow the advice and treatment 5. Consult me for further advice.

hi lybrate user, PCOD is not disease ,you need to modify your lifestyle. Have healthy food, balance diet, low carbohydrates, high protein, avoid oily spicy foods. exercise daily for 40min. This will help you to regularise period, avoid complications such as diabetes, hypertension in future. PCOD is not curable but treatable. Above factors will ease your life. Don't worry about PCOD.

Eat a wide variety of foods from all the food groups, which means: plenty of wholegrain, starchy foods (carbohydrates) some protein (lean meat, fish and pulses) some low-fat dairy product (such as semi-skimmed milk and yoghurt) plenty of fruit and vegetables.

What's your last 2 fbs pp2bs level? last hba1c level? precautions you need is to regular followup as diabetes in long run can affect other organs. So get baseline serum creatinine, urine albumin, get fundus examination by opthalmologist, check your blood. Pressure, lipid profile for cholesterol level. And compliance to medicine and diet plus exercise. Consult me if any query yet.

Lifestyle Changes That Can Save You From Diabetes

Diabetes is usually associated with the insulin and glucose absorption of the body. It is basically a digestive disorder where the body is not able to transport the glucose absorbed from the food to the cells, due to a lack of proper insulin production. This makes the blood sugar level rise.

Following are some of the changes that you can make to improve your blood sugar levels and keep your condition under control:

  1. Maintain a healthy BMI: Likewise, try to lose those extra kilos that may be weighing you down and increasing your sugar levels. You don't have to lose all the weight in one go, you can do so little by little. To lose weight gradually and consequently achieve a healthy BMI, you must have more of fruit and vegetables and less of sugary items and processed food along with exercising regularly.
  2. Have a fixed quantity of food: Apart from knowing the right foods to eat and the balance that you need to maintain between the different types, it is also important to know about portion sizes and carbohydrate count. This is because among the different food classes, it's chiefly carbohydrates that influence your blood glucose levels. So, you need to keep track of the amount of carbohydrates that you've consumed in order to arrive at the right insulin dosage. In addition to keeping count of your carbohydrate consumption, understanding the right portion sizes for the different types of food is also extremely vital for better management of your ailment.
  3. Control your stress: Stress is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes. When you're under stress, your body produces stress hormones (cortisol) that can cause your blood sugar levels (and even blood pressure)to rise. So, preventing or controlling stress becomes necessary to keep your diabetes under control.
  4. Stay fit with physical activity: The first lifestyle change you can make is to increase your level of physical activity. This can help you in burning extra calories, thereby keeping your blood sugar levels in check. Spending 30 minutes a day exercising is ideal. If you're not fond of exercising or don't have the time for it, even performing simple activities like walking, vacuuming or doing your laundry can help to lower glucose levels while burning calories.

Eat lot of fruits & green leafy vegetables & drink plenty of water. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with t. Rebagen 10, morning one tab & one at night for 5 days, c. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals. Hexigel ointment on the area of ulcer. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

First of all you should take rest for 1-2 days so that your body can fight with underlying infection with its full immunity and start the below medication:- Take gelesemium 200, twice daily . Take Eupatrium perf 200, 5 drops thrice daily. Take Antifebrinum 3x, 2 tabs , thrice daily. Take Alfavena malt, 1 tsf, thrice daily. Drink lots of water and take light homemade food like dalia and khichdi, avoid oily, spicy, fried, junk and cold drinks. In case of high uncontrollable fever, don't panic you should do cold sponging to lower down the temperature.If fever does not goes then go for a set of blood tests. Revert me with feedback. How should I change my diet to reduce high uric acid level in blood without taking medicine.
Lower fat intake as excess fat reduces normal excretion of uric acid Liberal fluid intake to keep the urine dilute Restriction or elimination of alcohol What to avoid Shell fishes, red meat, mince meat, meat extracts, organ meats, fishes (sardine, roe, makeral). Whole pulses (masur, rajmah, chana, chole, etc.). Other dals are allowed Vegetables and fruits - green peas, spinach, french beans, brinjal, cauliflower, mushroom, chickoo, custard apple Diet rules Use less salt while cooking. Fresh fruits and vegetables are encouraged so the patient can increase alkalinity in the blood. Therefore, rather than attempting to find foods that are free of purines and uric acid, it's important to know how to increase the body's alkalinity, which naturally reduces the body's acidity. Fresh, non-processed foods, such as fruits and vegetables, are the way to go.
