I'm trying to complete rid of the belly fat. What should be my diet? I'm vegetarian but eat eggs.
Start with low grade abs exercise and increase the intensity gradually. With your exercise need some life style modification especially the diet. For developing muscle we have to produce good quality proteins with exercise, In your case your abs muscles are filled with fat and through abs exercise we can reduce it and as a supporting factor eat sufficient amount of protein. Include 2 egg white 1 hr before your exercise and 250 ml milk after 1 hr of your exercise, If you are not doing any exercise start with 20 min and gradually increase up to one hour, include endurance and aerobics exercises. Properly set up food intake timing, in between meals maintain 2.5 to 3 hours gap and divide your 3 main meals into 6 small meals. If there avoid sot drinks and alcohol intake and increase your dietary fiber through vegetable and fruits, Take whole fruits instead of juice.

Hi lybrate-user, please read on to get some simple diet remedies to loose weight. 1. Castor Seed Oil - Throughout history, castor oil has been used for a wide variety of stomach health concerns, as it can coat the stomach in a thin lining, thus preventing inflammation and encouraging proper digestion. You can prepare a castor seed oil pack and place it on the stomach to soothe the painful symptoms of a hernia. 2. Aloe Vera Juice - As a natural anti-inflammatory compound and soothing agent, aloe vera is often recommended for people who are struggling with the pain of a hernia. Aloe vera can be consumed every morning in juice form, or even eaten prior to every meal for best results, and a much lower chance of developing a hernia. 3. Ice pack - When you suffer a hernia, there can often be inflammation, redness, and pain in the abdomen or groin. While this may not be the most comfortable remedy, applying an ice pack directly to the affected area can cause contraction and reduce inflammation in the body, often relieving the pain and bloating associated with it. 4. Ginger Root - When it comes to reducing abdominal pain and soothing inflammatory conditions, few things are as effective as ginger root. You can consume this remedy in liquid form through concentrated ginger juice, or you can eat raw ginger to give your stomach a healthy boost and reduce much of the pain of this condition. It can specifically protect the stomach and esophagus from the build-up of gastric juices, which can happen in the case of a hernia. 5. Alter Your Diet - Certain foods should be specifically avoided if you wish to prevent or treat a hernia. Spicy foods, acidic foods, and those that are difficult to digest should be avoided if you are at high risk for a hernia or already have one. These foods can further inflame the stomach lining and make it more difficult for the healing process. 6. Black Pepper Powder - Black pepper powder is useful for more than simply flavoring food. It has been associated with soothing stomach issues and reducing inflammation of the gut. It can also help to suppress acid reflux and stimulate healing in those parts of the body cavity that may have been compromised when the organ began to push through the cavity wall. 7. Relieve Stress - A major factor behind the formation of hernias is stress and anxiety. Excess stress hormones in the body can weaken the body’s organ systems and put more strain on your metabolism as a whole. Stomach issues and acid reflux can be affected by stress, which can exacerbate or increase your risk of hernias. Great stress reduction activities include meditation, yoga, acupuncture, and massage, as well as the use of essential oils and aromatherapy. 8 Cut Back on Exercise - Since one of the main causes of hernias is strenuous exercise or overexertion while lifting weights, if you have experienced a hernia in the past or commonly engage in heavy exercise, cut back and perform easier workouts while in recovery, or as a preventative measure. The strain involved in exercise is similar to straining during bowel movements, which can also cause hernias, so ensure that you drink enough fluids and eat enough fiber to ensure smooth bowel movements. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Hi lybrate user, take small & frequent meal (2 major meal and 3-4 small meal). Avoid taking heavy dinner. Cut or stop simple sugar and simple carbs, preserved, tinned and canned products from diet. Try to take 4-5 meals of green leafy vegetables & fruits. Take sufficient water. Start work out approx for 30-40 minutes daily like brisk walk, running, jogging, skipping, dancing, swimming whatever you like. You can also consult with a dietician for proper diet chart.

Eat a lot of Vegetable salads throughout the day between your main meals. A diet high in fibre is the best bet for healthy digestion. Eat carrots, beet root, turnip etc. Along with dietary fibre, they provide you with lots of vitamins and minerals. It will also keep you satisfied and not feel hungry. Eat all seasonal fruits (if you don't have any other medical condition). Always go for a variety of colors and make sure your fridge is always stocked with fresh fruit. Always aim to shop for seasonal fruits from a quality perspective and cost perspective. If you can, go for local and organically grown produce. Examples are apples, grapes, bananas, kiwi, papaya, guava, Pears, strawberries, mango, oranges, Kinoo, and pineapple. Pomegranate is known to promote healthy digestion. Eat it rather than drinking it's juice. Also increase your water intake upto 5-6 litres per day. Drink green tea 2-3 times a day. hope this helps.

Can a kidney transplanted patient do crunchers. please advise what's the best way to reduce belly fat.

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
Can a kidney transplanted patient do crunchers. please advise what's the best way to reduce belly fat.
After your kidney transplant, you should make exercise a regular part of your life to continue to improve your health and fitness. Your treatment team may work with you to set up a routine exercise program to meet your needs. Immediately after your transplant, you should walk as much as you can tolerate. Refrain from lifting more than 5 to 7 pounds in the first four to six weeks after your transplant. After your transplant, your doctor will recommend that you participate in 30 minutes of moderate exercise (brisk walking) a day, five days a week. Walking, bicycling, low-impact strength training or other activities may help you improve your health. Exercising regularly helps you control your weight, strengthen your bones and muscles, improve your physical functioning and increase your energy. However, if you feel dizzy or short of breath, or if you experience other symptoms while working out, you should stop exercising. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor and treatment team before you begin exercising again.
