Avoid to use pillow below your neck. Massage your neck and spine with mahamash tail and give heat treatment with hot water bag over affected areas. Do some neck and head exercise as clock wise and anticlockwise movement for5minutes.

If it looks like a dry patch, it can be pityriasis alba. It is common in children and young adults. Apply nandiderm cream on it. Eat healthy fruits. Use sun screen before going out. If you think it is a bright white patch (like vitiligo) and might be spreading, then see a dermatologist asap.

Hi lybrate-user to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem or may be Migraine headache kindly follow advises given below: you can take: 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error for any change in no. 4. We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.

My girlfriend had a severe pain in her left breast just upper left side of the nipple 1 year and 4 months ago. She consulted a doctor 4 months later. The doctor said that it may be a tumour and if not treated it could turn into a tumour and later breast cancer. So the doctor gave him some allopathic medicines and told that it would work and control the tumour. The doctor also suggested her mother to tie the knot as soon as possible. After marriage she will overcome this problem. But marriage is not happened. She took the medicine for 4 months. She got relief. But now 1 year later she got the pain again and severe pain. The tumour is hard and painful. It takes the size of a 5 rupees vaseline jar. Today the cold is enough and she has a lot of pain. Does it relate to her period?

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help for your girlfriend. Well, did she undergo any diagnostics including a mammography / biopsy? What do the diagnostics say? Should it be a fibroadenoma, it is advisable to get it removed before it causes other complications down the line. I would advise that you consult a breast oncologist this time for a second expert opinion, and deal promptly as the situation demands. For the time being, should the pain be unbearable, she may apply an alternating heat and cold treatment for couple of minutes that may alleviate pain. She needs to stay well hydrated, and take 'Amla Churna' (Patanjali) & 'Bael Churna (Patanjali- 1/2 tsp each with warm water, preferably before lunch daily for next 1 month. Simultaneously, keep her diet and lifestyle streamlined, she can take tomato soup to which fresh herbs like garlic, turmeric, black pepper, ginger, coriander leaves and oregano has been added, once daily. In severe stress and depression, you can develop aphthous ulcers or when immunity is down fungal ulcers too. Since you have some personal reasons, better consult a psychiatrist and get treated for your depression, else situation might worsen.

Dear lybrate user, hair growth occurs in cycles. Each cycle consists of a long growing phase (anagen), a short transitional phase (catagen) and a short resting phase (telogen). At the end of the resting phase, the hair falls out (exogen) and a new hair starts growing in the follicle beginning the cycle again. Normally, about 40 hairs reach the end of their resting phase each day and fall out. When more than 100 hairs fall out per day, clinical hair loss may occur. Hair loss have many causes such as:- 1) shrinkage of the hair follicles due to the influence of androgenic hormones. 2) under-nutrition of the hair due to fungal infection on the scalp. 3) effects of radio therapy or chemotherapy. 4) nutritional deficiencies. 5) autoimmune diseases. Modes of treatment for hairfall/alopecia includes surgical modes, oral medicine & local external application. The minimum duration of the course of oral medicines & external application is 6 months. If it is in normal range. You can hold it for a couple of days, and check your BP, if BP still remains normals hen you can stop. If it increases consult your treating doctors. For precautions- start brisk walking daily for 40-45 mins, Eat a healthy diet, avoid high salted foods like namkeens, papad, pickles etc, quit smoking, decrease the amount of caffeine you take.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: rest. Ceasing activity for a few days allows injured tissue and even nerve roots to begin to heal, which in turn will help relieve lower back pain. However, more than a few days of rest can lead to a weakening of the muscles, and weak muscles have to struggle to adequately support the spine. Patients who do not regularly exercise to build strength and flexibility are more likely to experience recurrent or prolonged lower back pain. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately. How to Avoid Sun Tan?
Skin colour becomes a shade lighter with proper and regular use of sunscreens because it will help you lose the sun tan. Sunscreen should be used daily, regardless of whether very sunny or cloudy day. Sun exposure occurs throughout the day. It can be through clouds, through regular glass windows of cars or homes, and even during short time spent walking to nearby shop or picking children from school bus. Try to stay indoors during 10: 00 am to 4: 00 pm. Sunscreens should be applied over exposed areas of body like face, neck, chest, forearms, hands, etc. Most cosmetically acceptable sunscreens need to be applied at least 20 minutes before going outdoors and repeated every 3-5 hourly depending on the sunscreen constituents. You need to also reapply sunscreen every time you sweat or wash off unless you are using special sunscreens which are water resistant. Use water resistant sunscreens while swimming. Even water resistant sunscreens protection wane off in 40-80 minutes and this should be kept in mind while swimming. Consider using sunscreen with atleast spf (sun protecting factor) 30. Please do not apply too little amount of sunscreens.

Fish is a good source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals.

Aim to eat at least two portions of fish a week, including at least one portion of oily fish.

Oily fish contains omega-3 fats, which may help to prevent heart disease.
You can choose from fresh, frozen and canned: but remember that canned and smoked fish can be high in salt.

Oily fish include salmon, mackerel, trout, herring, fresh tuna, sardines and pilchards.

Non-oily fish include haddock, plaice, coley, cod, tinned tuna, skate and hake.
If you regularly eat a lot of fish, try to choose as wide a variety as possible.
