It is good if you are taking appropriate treatment for diabetes and if it is well controlled, then it is appreciable. But looking at your height and weight it is clear that you are having grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 32 .85 kgs/M2. Your ideal body weight should be 60 kgs. Hence you are carrying 32 kgs extra weight. That it self is a major contributor for high blood glucose. Hence, weight reduction is absolutely imperative. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. IA person with diabetes if takes steroids including the ones taken for weight gain, then blood glucose is likely o be affected. To build muscles nutritious food, with adequate proteins and good exercise are more important. Taking androgenic steroids is definitely not good. Thanks.

You're taking right medicine for palpitations but medicines for thyroid do stimulate the heart. Get the dose regulated. Some cases of borderline thyroid need no medicines and are cured by good diet, exercise meditation and yoga. It's worth not taking medicines for thyroid if reports are on the upper or lower end of the range. Compare it to a borderline diabetic with sugar level as 140 fasting. The person is on higher side but can be corrected by not taking sugar. Or a low sugar patient is corrected by giving some liquid diets rich in sugar. Similarly thyroid hormones in body are present in a range.

Avoidance of high fatty food which is basically oily stuff with ghee, butter or oil is to be avoided for reduction of cholesterol level. This is the best remedy. You don't reduce anything by adding something to it. You reduce it by diminishing it from the body by means of reduction it in your diet.

Use a 100U/ml syringe (orange cap) for the 100u/ml vial or use a 40U/ml syringe (red cap) for 40u/ml vial. As long as u dont mix them up, you will do just fine. All pen cartridges come as 100u/ml concentration only. Never mix up the syringes or pen cartridges

lybrate-user, Your ideal body weight should be 57 kgs, that would give a BMI of 23 kgs. So to reduce weight, your dietary intake has to be less by about 20 % of the present, plus you should exercise for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour every day. To suggest a diet plan I should know current dietary habits. Thanks.

Protect your hands. Protection is key. Wear rubber or latex gloves when you're exposed to irritants. Choose ones that are lined with cotton. The key is to wash gently. Opt for warm water -- hot water strips the skin of its natural, protecting oils. The tops of dry hands are especially parched. Some dermatologists suggest scrubbing just your palms when washing if your hands are particularly dry. Petroleum jelly (petrolatum), mineral oil, and lanolin, all of which trap water in the skin

Diabetic control is very difficult and you need to take strict measures and add or change the drugs. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the bloodstream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. The failure of utilisation of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells results in production of less energy than normal condition. This is externally manifested as the fatigue & tiredness of the patient. This excess amount of blood sugar compels the kidney to function more than normal level in order to excrete the blood sugar molecules through urine. As a result the patient suffers from frequent urination. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. However, the patient does not need to take medicine unless his/her post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200. If post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200 then patient can take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnema sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with intake of medicines the patient need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. In order to decrease the intake of carbohydrate in diet the patient should avoid rice, sweet dishes, fruits, cold drinks, fast foods, alcoholic beverages, potato etc.
