Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS

Dear, please check your tsh levels. Ideally it should fall between 1 & 2. If not, then you need to get your medication doses altered. Check again after 6 weeks of altering the dose. The only way to lose the gained weight is to follow a proper diet and exercise regime. Thyroid is a lifelong illness, so take your medications properly and you should be fine.

Dear lybrate user, protein is one of the most vital nutritional substances which are required for human body. Almost every high protein diet contains purine. This purine produces uric acid on oxidation. Excess uric acid is accumulated at the joints of human beings as urate salts. This accumulation of urate salts lead to pain & swelling of those affected joints & this condition is clinically known as gout. You should avoid high protein rich diet like mutton, chicken, beef, eggs, sea fish, spinach, garden pea, tomato, lentils etc. Also you need to take homoeopathic mother tincture urtica urens q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. This medicine will help to dissolve the accumulated excess urate salts from the joints.

I have diabetes my right leg is now knee pain heel ankle problem full what to do.

I have diabetes my right leg is now knee pain heel ankle problem full what to do.
Leg Pain If you have leg pain then you have to rule out the casues for having leg pain. First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there are no issues with the knee joint or back pain. If not if the pain radiates down the back of thigh and legs then it might be due to sciatica. Kindly consult the nearby physiotherapist. Hope you recover soon from the leg pain. Pain in the back while walking and standing Pain in the right legIf you have leg pain pls check your body weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. My suggestion would be to wear MCR Chappals which will help you to prevent the weight falling on the If you have back pain while walking and standing first of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. My suggestion would be to wear MCR Chappals which will help you to prevent the weight falling on the back. Back. And also should check whether you have flat foot on the right leg that also might be the reason to have pain in one particular leg Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness might have developed due to weakness of the ligaments & inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee Along with ultrasonic therapy, shortwave diathermy also can be given. Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. You shall do contrast bath to relieve this pain. Contrast bath is nothing but keeping in one tub hot water (bearable heat) and in another tub cold water.

Diabetes & Impotence

Hello friends,

Thanks for joining me again on lybrate And I hope my previous videos are very helpful to you for understanding your disease and for personal education about your physical fitness. Today, I’m going to touch a very taboo topic, a topic which is always discussed under wraps the topic of diabetes and impotence. Impotence is not about sterility. Sterility and impotence are two different things, impotence is the inability of a partner to satisfy its partner on sexual basic, sterility is the difficulty in the ability to have production, reproduction and that is a very important topic that I’m going to discuss today diabetes and impotence. Well, a lot of my patients of diabetes always have a query that doctor, how is diabetes going to affect my sex life, well my answer to you is yes diabetes is going to affect your sex life is not one but many ways. first of all diabetes in itself is a problem that leads to nerve dysfunction and in spite of getting stimulated some people in diabetes in later stages who got diabetes uncontrolled for very long, they start to develop a problem by the name of erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction is a problem in which after maximal stimulation a man is not able to have a proper erection and this problem actually comes up out of the nervous system problems that happen because of the uncontrolled blood sugar level well, don’t get me wrong I don’t want to imply here that only diabetes is the reason because of people develop erectile dysfunction but diabetes is a very important reason because of which people develop erectile dysfunction. The second problem that people with diabetes may develop because they can have an effect on their sex life is about premature ejaculation.

Premature ejaculation is the lack of stamina in continuing the sexual act and the culmination of the sexual act by ejaculation which is premature and this means that a patient is not able to have a sexual satisfaction with his partner and neither does the partner achieve complete satisfaction because the male partner has ejaculated and there is no further stamina left for the continuation of the sexual act. I don’t understand that these people who have these problems of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation they are more concerned about the sexual factor affecting them rather than diabetes that is affecting them but they have to understand that the core problem is the uncontrolled blood sugar, if they are able to control their blood sugar then probably they will be able have the cure and a solution to both these problems. Also, the second thing that is very baffling to me is the fact that most of the people who are suffering from these kind of sexual problems they go to quacks and people who are unqualified to the solution of their problems. well, I believe that if you confy in your doctor and go to a doctor who is qualified to handle this problem then probably you will get a better solution and a better cure of your problem rather than going to somebody who is going to provide you obscure desi medicine who doesn’t even have the qualification to cure it and in spite of that the people are streaming to these unqualified people rather than the doctor who may provide them the scientific solution to their problem ,having said that I will also like to recommend you that you can also make use of the online consults that are available on lybrate which will help you at least get a customize solution to your problem without having to go to people who are going to mess up your life because they don’t themselves know that what they are going to give as a medicine to you so don’t go to those people who are not qualified that’s my humble submission to you and I believe you will enjoy a very healthy life ahead of you and try to understand that it is actually the control of blood sugar that is paramount in the control of your sex life thank you very much and thanks for joining it.

Diabetes - Ayurvedic Treatment For It!

Diabetes - Ayurvedic Treatment For It!

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is characterized by high blood sugar levels in the body. This occurs when the glucose in the body is not converted into energy due to the impaired functioning of insulin in the body. Insulin is a hormone in the body produced by the pancreas which processes sugar in the body. Impaired functioning of the insulin leads to a rise in blood sugar levels, thus leading to diabetes.

Symptoms-

The symptoms of diabetes differ from person to person, depending on how high one’s blood sugar levels are. Diabetes exhibits various symptoms such as frequent urges to urinate, extreme hunger, rapid weight loss and irritability. Fatigue, blurred-vision and increased thirst are some other common symptoms as well. Diabetes also slows down the healing process of any sore or injury in the body.

Causes-

The cause of diabetes is linked to improper functioning of insulin. There are four types of diabetes and each comes with its own set of causes:

Type 1 Diabetes-

In Type 1 diabetes, the immune system of the body starts to attack the healthy pancreatic cells which produce insulin. This reduces the insulin production in the body, causing a rise in the blood sugar levels.

Type 2 Diabetes and Pre-diabetes-

The causes for Pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes are very similar. In both the cases, the body starts becoming resistant to insulin, and the normal production of insulin cannot make up for this. This leads to accumulation of sugar in the blood, leading to diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes-

During pregnancy, a woman’s body produces hormones which play a major role in sustaining the pregnancy to a full term. However, these hormones tend to affect the functioning of insulin, leading to a rise in blood sugar.

Ayurvedic Treatment For Balancing Blood Sugar Level-

Ayurvedic treatments to regulate blood sugar aim to get your blood sugar levels under control and improve your overall health. As they are made from natural ingredients, these remedies do not have any side-effects unlike conventional treatments. The Ayurvedic remedies are:

  1. Diet: Maintaining a healthy diet is very important to get blood sugar under control. Avoid eating simple sugars as they spike blood sugar levels; instead of opting for fiber and complex carbohydrates such as whole grains and vegetables.

  2. Exercise: Regular exercise helps in keeping blood sugar in check, as it burns calories. You can opt for cardiovascular or weight training to burn calories and keep your metabolic rate elevated. A high metabolic rate means good amount of calories burned by the body at rest.

  3. Herbs: There are certain herbs that you can consume (in different forms) to control diabetes. Herbs such as ‘neem’ and ‘fenugreek’ (methi) seeds, if incorporated in the daily diet in prescribed dosages, can be beneficial in getting your blood sugar in check. Turmeric is another herb which has anti-inflammatory properties that can treat this condition by reducing body resistance to insulin and increasing insulin production by the pancreas. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda and ask a free question.
