Hi I will prescribe some harmless but effective flower remedy available in homoeopathy shops. Try to buy original medicines. Mix 3 drops of gentian + 3 drops of white chestnut + 3 drops of gorse + 3 drops of cherry plum. Mix these with 100 ml water and drink it every morning and night.(same dose) on empty stomach.

Hi lybrate-user, this habit of eating inedible and non nutritious substance is called pica in medical term. This is often seen in young age between 15-25 yrs. Females are mostly affected. Underlying iron, copper of zinc efficiency may be a cause. This kind of habit leads to malnutrition which can cause changes in skin and hairs. Psychological cause are, poor parental caring, lack of maternal care and unhappy family situation. During pregnancy this kind of behaviour is often noticed. It may also be an expression of underlying compulsive behaviour. So I would request to consult with psychiatrist and dermatologist. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, the given tilted eye looking may not be a symptom at all in case of the social phobia. But as you got 63 percentile marks in your social phobia test, we can address it as social phobia. Social phobia is fear to be in public situations, feeling anxious or nervous to speak to strangers, entering into a crowd etc. If you have all these symptoms, I suggest you to consult a psychologist for psychotherapy treatment. Take care.

Hello sir, My problem is I am feeling sleepy every time I am not concentrate on my study's Give me solution what should I do?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Please go for a complete medical examination to find out he cause of your sleepiness. If you are sleeping well at night, there may be other causes for this extent of sleepiness. In the meantime, you may follow these recommendations to improve concentration: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem-solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning, at least, five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position, you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There is some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food. You may also include these noted foods that are good for your brain health: Brain-Friendly Foods MIND stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. But the MIND approach “specifically includes foods and nutrients that medical literature and data show to be good for the brain, such as berries,” says Martha Clare Morris, ScD, director of nutrition and nutritional epidemiology at Rush University Medical Center. You eat things from these 10 food groups: •Green leafy vegetables (like spinach and salad greens): At least six servings a week •Other vegetables: At least one a day •Nuts: Five servings a week •Berries: Two or more servings a week •Beans: At least three servings a week •Whole grains: Three or more servings a day •Fish: Once a week •Poultry (like chicken or turkey): Two times a week •Olive oil: Use it as your main cooking oil. •Wine: One glass a day You avoid: •Red meat: Less than four servings a week •Butter and margarine: Less than a tablespoon daily •Cheese: Less than one serving a week •Pastries and sweets: Less than five servings a week •Fried or fast food: Less than one serving a week.

How can I increase my memory? I forgot things after sometime. Please suggest me. If.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Stress can foil concentration and learning ability. Although concentration is different to memory, they can affect each other. Concentration precedes memory. If you are under stress your concentration will go for a toss, then naturally memory will be totally foiled. So meet with a counselor to take care of the stress and your memory will happily return. You can follow these simple rules in the meantime: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. Hello sir/ madam I'm shafi 22 year old I want to quit smoking please give me a solution thanks.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Habitual smoking or chain smoking increases the Tar content in our lungs thus decreasing our lungs Air spaces called Alveolar sacs.Due to this decrease in air spaces,we cant exert much as our lungs cant carry more volumes of air due to decreased lung spaces. This leads to shortness of breath when we exert thus loosing our stamina. So to increase stamina, the first and foremost thing a chain smoker should do is ti quit smoking cigrattes and start doing morning cardio exercises or breathing exercises to increase lung spaces. It sounds very easy but my friend it is not that easy as it requires a lot of Determination and will power because you will have to face a lot of challenges while quitting this habit and you must have to be head strong.Once you quit your smoking habit, the things will automatically becomes easy for you. Homoeopathic medicine DAPHNE INDICA 1X( Wilmar Schwabe India) Chew 2 tab 3 times daily AVENA SATIVA Q ( Dr RECKEWEG) Drink 20 drops in 20 ml fresh water twice daily To start with start early morning Brisk walking for 30 minutes and breathing deep while walking. ALOM VILOM PRANAYAM daily for 15 minute any time during the day. Report after 30 days

You do not mention that do you have any mental stress in past few days. If there is any then you can tell us. Till then try to keep yourself calm and relaxed with relaxation therapy and meditation. At bed time or whenever you feel irritation and mood swing starts deep breathing and count 20-1 with every inhale and exhale. Then starts thinking that I am relax, I am calm and I can do everything, and also I love my self. Try it regular basis and you will feel better.

Dear lybrate user, I understand that you are in pain. You are feeling very sad and worthless because of the breakup. Please understand that there is only one person on this earth who knows you very well - and that is yourself. If you think you have some weakness or faults then try to improve upon those. But do not let others pull you down. Love means respect. If your bf did not respect you, then that was not love. According to you, he had ego problems which means, for him" he" was the priority all the time. His needs and opinions were important than yours. He did not value you as a person. We human beings, live in a society and have various relations. It is very important to maintain relations with your friends and relatives, irrespective of your intimate relation. Even if you have lost your friends, try to connect with them again, make new friends. If you wish you may open facebook and whatsapp accounts. But instead of connecting with people only virtually, try to make some real connections where you are comfortable being yourself and are able to share your worries and feelings. If you want others to love and respect you, learn to love and respect your own self first. Take charge of your life. Don't depend on others for your happiness. Take care.

Hello lybrate user. Not feeling fresh after getting up from sleep, feeling less energetic and tiredness throughout the day may normally be present if they are occasional once a while in a person's life. But if this is the story which is being repeated almost everyday for atleast 2 weeks or more than it needs a close evaluation. At your age having persistent pervasive low mood and lack of interest, lack of concentration, forgetting things, lack of concentration, constant tiredness with having headache or head heaviness may be signs of depression. Other thing which we neet to rule out here is any organic cause for the symptoms. So I suggest you to get your thyroid function test, hemogram and mri brain done. You need to get evaluated closely by a psychiatrist and if there are other signs of depression present you may be started on anti-depressants with expecting good amount of improvement in a month of start of medications. Hoping the best for you. Take care.

How to increase concentration power, as I can not concentrate more than 2 minutes.

You are probably under some form of stress. The migraine headaches indicate that as well as that there could be reasons for the stress to stem from unexpressed anger. Are you aware of any such feeling pending expression in your life when you look back to even childhood? You could discuss these matters with a counselor and see if together you can both identify the reasons for the stress. Apart from that you can do some of the following to improve memory and concentration. Although concentration is different to memory, they can affect each other. Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. Brain Power Boosting Exercise Tip
1. Aerobic exercise is particularly good for the brain, so choose activities that keep your blood pumping. In general, anything that is good for your heart is great for your brain.
2. Physical activities that require hand-eye coordination or complex motor skills are particularly beneficial for brain building.
3. Exercise breaks can help you get past mental fatigue and afternoon slumps. Even a short walk or a few jumping jacks can be enough to reboot your brain.

I am a 25 years lady got married at the age 18. From then up to now I and my husband relationship is not good, he always says your mind is not matured and you don't know how to cook so he hates me . Is my problem will be cured by counseling session. I do have many complaints with him. I can attend only on Sunday. Will I get the appointment on sunday

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
I think that your husband is not being fair with you. Maturity and cooking are not connected, and even so it is not reason enough for him to hate you. Since this is becoming serious, you must seek the help of a marriage counselor soon. I suppose you are aware that, ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’! Cooking good food can quite satiate a man that he is happy and content. Now it has been 7 years since you are married and I think that that is good time to learn or improve your culinary skills. If not do attend some cookery classes or buy some books that can help you do better. If you have not tried to improve your skills, I can understand that your husband is upset though not enough to hate you. Ask your mom or neighbors or friends for their favorite dishes and serve up some mouth-watering food and see what happens. Since you mention that you have a lot of complaints about your husband, there may be other issues that are bothering him and you, and he may be using this as an excuse to blame you. There are counselors who work on Sundays too and you can avail of their services to correct the problems confronting your relationship soon.
