Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I get a feeling of having answered he same query a few days back. Your blood glucose levels and HbA1c% are all showing that you are in pre-diabetic state. Usually we do not advise any drug for this condition. But if some one is overweight, then metformin may be used. You need to adapt a modified lifestyle so that blood glucose levels remain in check. That will help in preventing development of overt diabetes or postpone it for a considerable time. You are already in grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 30.41 kgs/M2 (normal < 23 kgs/M2). Your ideal body weight should be 54 kgs. Which means you are almost 20 kgs in excess. Reducing weight will bring your blood glucose levels back to normal. Thanks.

Male fertility surgery

Microsurgery

Male microsurgery also involves specialised operative techniques for the repair of very small structures, such as the tubes that carry sperm (the vas deferens). It is commonly used where there is a low sperm count, or no sperm at all.

Microsurgery can be used to:

  • reverse a Vasectomy
  • bypass a blockage in the epididymis,
  • cure a Varicocele (swelling of the veins about the testis), which allows the testis to produce better sperm,
  • In the case of azoospermia (absence of sperm in the testes), microsurgery is also used to perform surgical sperm retrieval so it can be used for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). The genetic make up of the sperm is tested first, before fertility treatment.

Most microsurgery is done as a day surgery procedure, and you will need up to a week to recover after the procedure. Occasionally we can cure obstruction to sperm passage in the urinary tract.

My mother is 58 and she is diabetic from last 5 years. She is taking Tab Amaryl 1mG, voglitor (0.2mg 500). Recently after Dexa scan we found that her bones are getting weak and there is a high risk of fracture, she is on medicine like tab Dolo, Tab Uprise D3, Tab Calcimax, Tab Osteofos, Tab pregaba. She is also taking Cranpac-D for immunity. She is getting repeated UTI from last 4 months and each time same bacteria responsible for this is Escherichia coli. Doctor advised Septran DS after going through the Urine culture report. Bacterial infection cleared in the urine routine report but few other problems occurred. She is suffering from low grade urinary infection with acute exacerbation mostly aided due to her diabetic state. You haven't mentioned her blood sugar levels. It may be the problem area. Any such infection. If not controlled efficiently will cause it to spread upwards along the ureters and may reach kidneys causing a critical condition called payelonephritis. If bactrim ds is not giving relief you must urgently consult your physician. He might change the drug according to the culture report done recently. With good control of blood sugar she will recover as I hope.

I am 53 years old. For last 17 years I am taking Zyloric tab to control the level of uric acid my kidney and liver function is OK. Can Benzoic acid (homoeopathic medicine) lowers the uric acid. My uric acid level is always between 6 and 7. My cousin also have this problem. What is the difference between Aamvat and Vatarakta.

I am a ayurvedic doctor, so don't know about benzoic acid. Vatrakta is compared with gout and aamvata with rheumatoid arthritis. According to ayurveda you r suffering from vatarakta.

What should be the diet chart for a person with type 2 diabetes and how mch calories should he burn daily.

What should be the diet chart for a person with type 2 diabetes and how mch calories should he burn daily.
Hello, Thanks for the query. The diet for a person with diabetes is usually patient specific. It depends on weight (ideal body weight), height, extent of daily exercise, present diet and treatment that is being taken. On burning of calories there is no specific number, but daily workout of over 1 hour is necessary. Particularly with your age, there has to be more care taken to remain free from any complications.

As soon as I got up my sugar level will be more ie 112, 107, 110 like that after some time it will be less than that like 100 ,102 r 104, is it prediabetes? I am worried or else it's normal? I left taking rice in my daily routine, no tea no coffee. Only millets & oats that's all I am having. I really worried a lot. After food it's shows normal ie 135, 128 r 120.

Dear Lybrateuser, - To control your blood sugar have more of fibrous food vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, beans, sprouts, nuts - have 4-5 small meals rather than three large meals, have a light dinner with protein food in it & vegetables, take a walk for 10-15 min after dinner, have a well balanced diet with controlled portion from all the food groups as not having a particular group will lead to deficiency disease & metabolic imbalance - control weight with diet & exercise + sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep sleep & wake up time fixed.
