Sir. I bought a blood glucose testing device and tested my daughter's random blood sugar and it was 111. Next day morning tested the fasting sugar and it is 99. She is just 6 years old. Is this normal? Or anything to concern. Thanks.

Herpies is a viral condition, it will take it's course of time. Take medicine as suggested by doctor. See a good Ayurveda doctor. Raktamokshan (blood letting) by leaches is a very effective treatment in Ayurveda for herpies. It will give immidiate relief from severe burning.

1.Can sugar patients use safi? 2.Can 11 years {mechured girl} use safi, suffering from pimples.
Hello, Thanks for the query. If Safi has a syrupy base, then it will contain a good amount of sugar. So better to be careful with it. As regards its benefits I have really no idea. Basically according to modern science human blood is always pure form. If blood gets toxins then that would result in multiple complications and various diseases. This concept of blood purification is typically a traditional medical practice one. So I will not be able to comment on it. According to me our blood can contain any toxins or say "it becomes impure" Thanks.

Hi I am 52 years.(male) diabetic patient. Suffering last twenty years. As per blood report doctor advised me to take glimepiride 1 mg before breakfast and metformin 500 after meal two times. After 3 months b. S (f) abnormalyy high (304) and during that time I was suffering from gastric (i think side affect) now medicine totally stop. Doctor advise me to take admission in any hospital. General Physician,
After 20 yrs of diabetes, your body's own insulin production is very less, and thats why medicines won't help much. Starting once daily basal insulin will improve your condition a lot with weakness going away. Don't be afraid to start insulin, because the injection is painless, and can guarantee you that your condition will improve a lot. No need of admission, consult me online with your reports if necessary.

This is a case of diabetes mellitus type 2, due to deficiency of insulin production probably. Insulin is a hormone which helps to metabolize sugar in our blood. Fasting blood sugar may remain normal sometimes, which does not mean that she cannot be diabetic. In your case, it is postprandial hyperglycemia which is also a feature of diabetes mellitus type 2. So, consult any endocrinologist or diabetologist very urgently. If she is left untreated at this moment, than her blood sugar may rise more. High blood sugar is very harmful heart, brain, kidney, nerves and eyes. So, maintain diabetic diet from now onward.

Mr. Lybrate-user, diffuse inflammatory gastritis, means the mucous lining of stomach is inflammed, (becomes more red) and irritates, can go on to develop some ulceration. This most often happens due to excess acid production in the stomach. It can be treated by using ppis (omeprazole, rabeprazole etc) plus bland diet.

hyperthyroidism before pregnancy means through pregnancy there is antithyroid treatment on. Carbimazole crosses the placental barrier, hence can affect the development of thyroid gland in fetus causing hypothyroidism. So propylthiouracil is preferred as it does not cross the placental barrier. However, there are possible side effects of these drugs affecting the pregnancy. Usually antithyroid drugs are given for 12 to 18 months and stopped. That could be one option when hyperthyroidism is completely controlled.

What is the symptoms of thyroid. And what abt the solution for this. So let me know.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr Harendra Kumar, Thyroid is a normal gland present in all of us. It produce a hormone called thyroxine which is essential for brain development, almost every single metabolic activity in the body. Deficiency of thyroxine hormone causes hypothyroidism and excess cause hyperthyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a more common condition. It is recognised by increased level of TSH in blood and reduction in T4 and T3 hormones. A blood test helps us to detect this. Symptoms of hypothyroidism are : Weight gain, intolerance to cold, reduced sweating, slow heart rate, early fatigue and tired feeling, swelling of face and legs, irregularities of menstruation, difficulties in speech, inability to concentrate etc. Solution is to take Thyroxine tablets daily, dose is based on body weight and TSH levels.

General Physician,
I am suffering from sugar so should I have to do and what type of medicine should I take please help me.
Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. You are not diabetic, neither your blood sugar levels are normal. You are prediabetic on way to develop diabetes if strict, disciplined measures are not taken immediately. Weight control, regular exercise & diet can help. Try brisk walks 40 mins. A day for 5 days a week. Plus avoid sweets, sugar.Eat 5-times at regular 3 hrly intervals small meals with enough leafy vegetables. (A dietician can help you ).Repeat FBS, PPBS & also get your Hb1C & lipid profile done after 3 weeks. If these reports are normal you can continue the same. HbAIC should be 6.7% or less. Repeat these tests every 3 months. You may need medications if your blood sugar levels do not reach normal levels. The lipid levels may also need to be normalized if high. Hope this helps. Take care.
