Hi, include protein rich food in your diet. You should prefer high calorie, low fat diet. Include cabbage, curd, egg, milk and broccoli in your diet. Take frequent meals instead of 3 big meals. You can consult me privately online on Lybrate I will give you diet chart.

Sir how can hyper thyroid (THS) can be controlled with out taking medicines. And how can hyper Thyroid can be cured once for all.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr Malik, Any disease related to thyroid either hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism both need to be treated with necessary medicine. Without that there is no way one can control these conditions. Plus these can not be cured, can only be controlled. They remain with us for life time. Some times after a course of antithyroid drug treatment hyperthyroid may completely go away. So my suggestion is to get proper treatment.

There is no permanent end to the hypothyroidism. She has to take medicene through out. In diet there are restrictions like cauliflower or broccoli, but don't matter much. Take the medicene and eat everything and enjoy life.

Your thyroid needs iodine to work well, get enough from iodized table salt, fish, shrimp, and seaweeds. Thyroid needs magnesium also - spinach, lettuce, and other leafy greens are great sources of magnesium. Also cashews, almonds, and pumpkin seeds are another excellent source of magnesium.

Hello, at the age of 50 with abnormal bleeding pattern one has to rule out precancerous or cancerous conditions. Surgery would be different if there is any such suspicion. So to rule that out it is always better to get endometrial biopsy and papsmear before a major surgery. It is a very simple procedure, need not worry about it. Or there is sn office procedure done as outpatient itself which is further simpler. All the best.

If left untreated, hypothyroidism can progress and cause a multitude of complications. Understanding the symptoms of hypothyroidism and getting regular screenings to ensure an early diagnosis will prevent the onset of the complications listed below. Birth defects if you are pregnant and have an untreated thyroid disorder, your child may have a higher risk of having birth defects than babies born to healthy mothers. Babies born to women with untreated thyroid disorders may have significant mental and physical development issues because thyroid hormones are vital for brain development. Fortunately, if these problems are addressed shortly after the birth, the child may experience healthy development. An abbreviated thyroid function test is part of the newborn screen. This usually includes a panel of blood tests performed on a newborn to exclude diseases. Goiter when your thyroid over exerts itself in an effort to produce an adequate amount of hormones, the excessive stimulation may cause the thyroid glan.

dear shashank, Hashimotos Thyroiditis and subsequent Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder . This is an auto immune condition. This means that your body's immune system attacks your own thyroid cells and might eventually destroy the cells. There are many causes which can precipitate this attack like a viral attack, trauma, post partum period, +ve family history, selenium deficiency etc. The treatment of hypothyroidism is thyroid hormone replacement The treatment of Hashimoto's disease without hypothyroidism is only symptomatic. Once your TSH goes above 5 miu/ ml we need to start on treatment please revert back with your thyroid profile

Hair fall may be attributed to different reasons like using artificial colors, hair styling, chemicals improper diet, acidity & gas, more exposure to sun, spicy sour n salty food, to much curd day sleep, lack of vitamins & other nutrients, anger & stress, due to previous illness etc. Please go for herbal neem shampoo. Use shikakai and amla as conditioner (soak amla and shikakai in water overnight and boil a little in morning). Apply it on hairs. Keep for half an hour and then wash. It will condition the hairs.

What are the symptoms of thyroid and how to cure it and how to reduce the body weight.
Mr. Lybrate-user, thyroid is the normal gland in all of us. It produces hormone thyroxine, essential for brain development and functioning and also involved in various vital metabolic functions. Lack or absence of that hormone causes hypothyroidism and excess causes hyperthyroidism. So which are you asking is difficult to know. Common is hypothyroidism. This causes weight increase, slow heart rate, intolerance to cold, difficulty in speech, inability to concentrate, menstrual irregularities in women, dry skin and dry hair and hair fall, early fatigue and tiredness, anxiety and depression. Treatment is to take thyroxine tablets for life time. There is no cure.
