Facial Hair Removal: Should You Go for Laser Surgery?

FRGUHS, DDVL, MBBS

Facial Hair Removal: Should You Go for Laser Surgery?

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a laser, which is an intense, pulsating beam of light to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth. Although laser hair removal slows hair growth, it does not guarantee permanent hair removal. It takes multiple laser hair removal treatments to provide hair-free skin. Laser surgery for facial hair removal helps your skin look younger and healthier by treating aging, acne, and blotches, scars, wrinkles, lines or excess hair on the face.

This surgery comes with its own share of benefits, which are:

  • First of all, laser hair removal is precise. The laser only targets the pigmented area of the skin on your face, such as the hair follicle. This is why only the hair follicle is burned and not the skin surrounding the area, making it a safe procedure.

  • Laser hair removal is most effective on the hairs in the early part of the hair growing stage. A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair follicle. The laser then converts its energy into heat and heats up the hair follicle preventing it from growing any further.

  • Laser hair removal removes unwanted hair from your face at the speed of light. The laser is designed to treat several hairs in a large surface area, all at the same time. There is no downtime after the service and no sticky residue left behind.

  • The pain factor varies from person to person because every person has a different level of pain tolerance. Laser surgery is described as feeling like a gentle pinch or like the snap of a warm rubber band.

  • Laser hair removal has many benefits that make it a viable option for many people to permanently deal with unwanted hair. You can ask many questions during your consultation to make sure you fully understand the procedure they use and how they deal with the treatment of pain.

Even though laser hair removal surgery on the face is largely safe, there are certain very minor side effects that are associated with it that you need to keep in mind before opting for it. The risks involved with laser surgery occur very rarely including a change in skin tone, burns, and blistering. If performed correctly by a trained professional with a lot of experience, laser surgery for hair removal is very safe. You may have slight redness or local swelling on the treatment area of your face that typically resolves within several hours. Limiting your exposure to the sun before and after treatment can minimize the risk of complications. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

I am 26 years old boy. I am having dark circles around my eyes. How to get rid of it? Pls suggest.
Hi mohit, dark circles can happen because of tension, worries or anxiety; vitamin or calcium deficiency; lack of sleep; over exertion of eyes or even because of some vision problem. You need to identify the problem in your case and solve it in order to reduce the dark circles. Along with it you can apply eyez 20 gel around your eyes at bed time.

My face is very dark so how can I solve this problem by using skinless lite cream and tranexamic acid tablets?
This medication is used to treat heavy bleeding during your menstrual period. Tranexamic acid works by slowing the breakdown of blood clots, which helps to prevent prolonged bleeding. It belongs to a class of drugs known as antifibrinolytics. ... It does not stop your period. You cannot make your face glow by using skinless lite cream and tranexamic acid tablets

I am a girl of 19. My nipples are inverted since my childhood. Also I have 2small lumps in my both underarms from my small age itself. Those lumps are same in size doesn't give me any sort of disturbance. Bt I recently I came to hear that inverted nipples and lumps in underarm are signs of breast cancer .what should I do? Should I trust it? Is it possible to get rid of this issue. Is it possible for nipple to evert?

Nipple inversion of recent onset is a sign of breast cancer. Axillary soft lumps are usually lipomas or more commonly accessory breasts, which are benign. They can be removed surgically if causing problems. In Breast cancer patients we see firm to hard Axillary nodes, which are due to spread of cancer from the breast. A congenitally inverted nipple is present in approximately 3 percent of women ages 19 to 26 without a history of infection, inflammation, trauma, tumor, periareolar surgery, or pregnancy. Congenital nipple inversion is benign and usually bilateral. The cause of congenital nipple inversion is a failure of the underlying tissue to proliferate and project the nipple papilla outward. In the majority of cases, the inverted nipple is umbilicated rather than invaginated There is clinical grading system for nipple inversion is based upon how difficult it is to pull the nipple out manually and how well projection is subsequently maintained: Grade I The nipple is easily pulled out with gentle squeezing of the areolar skin. Nipple projection is well maintained for several minutes, but then the nipple reverts to an inverted state. Grade II Forceful manipulation is required to pull the nipple out, and inversion recurs quickly as shown in the figure. The majority of patients with nipple inversion have grade II inversion. Grade III There is no projection of the nipple and the papilla is buried below the level of the skin. Despite maximal manipulation, the nipple cannot be pulled out and is described as invaginated. Although the majority of patients with nipple inversion have benign disease, some may wish to have correction of their inversion for cosmetic reasons or to improve the chances of being able to breast feed. It can be done by -Simple purse string suture around the base of nipple to prevent it from retracting, but works for low grade inversion. -Another method is to divide the fibrotic tissue between the ducts and selective ductal division if it is holding back the nipple with sutures taken at base to hold the nipple, works even with grade 3 inversion. - some have tried distraction techniques with good results in grade 1 and 2 inversion. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss this further.

Dear user, Fungal infection is caused by moisture, irritation, and bacterial overgrowth. In most cases, fungal infection can be treated at home effectively. You can try the following remedies to get rid of the infection: 1.Apply over-the-counter antifungal cream, powder, or spray to the affected area - our best options include Lamisil, Lotrimin Ultra, and/or Naftin. These are more expensive, but they will get rid of jock itch faster. Prefer Lotrimin Ultra which contains Butenafine Hydrochloride over regular Lotrimin AF which just contains clotrimazole. Studies have shown Butenafine can be faster and more effective than clotrimazole. You can also purchase cheaper creams containing clotrimazole or miconazole. These will take a little longer to work, but they will effectively wipe out jock itch. 2.Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and warm water. 3.Dry the affected area thoroughly after bathing and exercise. 4.Change clothes and undergarments every day. 5.Wear loose cotton clothing. Avoid wearing any clothing that rubs or irritates your crotch. 6.Treat any other fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot. Doing this will decrease the risk for recurrence.
