Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Drink more water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Tests every 3 to 6 months.

Hello doctor, My father is diabetic. Now his diabetes PP figure is 250 (approx). He is suffering from Malaria vivax. We have completed 3 days course of chloroquine 250 mg with ziffy 200 and dolo 650. But only for one day it came down to 98.5 .after that is varying between 99.5 and 102. Please advise what to do next.

You need to give him a balanced and easily digestible diet to support the action of medicines. His diet is not balanced that's why his body constituents are breaking down causing rise in blood sugar. Consult with a Dietician to know what to eat, how, when and how much.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When blood glucose is well controlled with fasting < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8, the health of the person improves tremendously. There is no weakness felt. If blood glucose levels are not in check, then due to excess glucose loss, there is weakness. Since you have not mentioned any details about your blood glucose levels, it is difficult make any specific suggestions. Thanks.

According to ayurveda, for treatmnet of obesity, you firstly stop causative factors from your life style. Like drinking too much cold water, eat too much sweets, day sleep, water after meal, lack of exercise, curd, menda etc. I will need your detail history. Till you can follow this * start drinking hot water * stop day sleep * start any exercise in morning, like suryanamaskar, walking, joging, sports * drink juice of turmeric n ginger with honey * take jau barley, instead of ghenhu wheat. * use cow ghee n milk only * boild rise in open pot, don't use cocker. Withdraw water if rice we are offering ayurveda course for obesity.

Once you have diabetes may be you have to learn to live with it life long .(So far we have not found Cure for diabetes -however in near future we may find some answers) You may not require to take medicines life long if you are over weight and you reduce your weight to near normal .In that case you can get rid of medicines and can be managed on life style modifications along with suitable exercise. Its always very important to understand diabetes properly so that you can get rid of fear and make friendship with diabetes. You can always be person with Diabetes but never be patient with diabetes.

Hello, your sugar level is absolutely normal, * go for a walk in d morning/evng for an hr. * go for meditation fo 30 mnts. * take, plenty of water. * avoid, direct sweets, junk food. * maintain 1200-1600 calories in yiour diet. *homoeo-medicine* @ syz jimb q-10 drops, thrice a day with little water. It is good for diabetes. In addition to that follow the advice given below symptoms of typhoid 1. Continuous high fever of long duration 2. Headache, body ache, lethargy 3. Loss of appetite, pain abdomen 4. Diarrhoea or constipation 5. Intestinal bleeding and perforation (in severe cases) treatment 1. Consult doctor with blood report like widal/typhidot test. 2. If it is typhoid, you have to take a course of antibiotic for 10-14 days 3. Take bland semi solid diet like rice with yogurt, porridge, barley, fruit (avoid skin/seeds) custard, avoid spicy, oily and fatty food. Take light and easily digestible diet. Take meals at short interval to avoid nausa/vomiting. Avoid meat/poultry/egg 4. Drink plenty of water/lime juice/ glucose water/ coconut water, sugar cane/ fresh fruit (avoid citrus fruits) juice, milk 5. Take adequate rest (4 fold risein h &oantigen titer>1: 160, negative test does not rule out typhoid h&o antigen will gradually decrease after 6 months. O agglutinin appear early and h appears later and lasts longer. Typhidot test (igg/igm, rapid detection,) prevention typhoid is a bacterial infection affecting the gastrointestinal system and is due to fecal contamination of food, milk and water. It can be prevented by 1. Avoiding contaminated food and water/milk from out side sources like junk food etc 2 use purified drinking water and have warm home made food, 3. Avoid fly contamination of food, maintain food hygiene 4, properlyl wash your hands before taking food 5. Wash vegetable, fruit before consuming.

Hello lybrate-user, I am suggesting a proper diet for your father, pls follow :1.Exercise, Yoga, Walking daily, plenty of water is needed. 2.Fruits and vegetables: Eat 4 to 6 serving daily Carrot, onion, peas, beetroot, green and leafy vegetables. Watermelon, muskmelon, papaya, sweet lime, orange, peach, fig, guava, apple, jambu. 3. Cereals, pulses, legumes: Eat moderately [3 to 5 serving]. Wheat, jowar, bajra, rice, bread, Bengal gram, whole dal. 4. Low fat dairy product, paultry, eggs: Eat moderately 2 to 3 serving. Fish, chicken, cheese, paneer, egg white, peanut butter, Skimmed milk, curd. 5. Nuts and oils: Eat sparingly [1 to 2 serving] Almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, olive oil, sunflower oil, Canola oil, etc. AVOID: Sugar, sweets, colas, red meat and refined food products. where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving THYROXINE tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. My Blood Sugar level was 176/316 with Metformin 500 mg BD, voglibose0.3 at 0.1.0, I am taking for the past 7-8 yearsanti diabetic medicines. The Doctor advised me to go for Insulin 10 unit morning and evening. To avoid insulin I gone for AYURVEDA IME -9 AYUSH 82 Research product a n ayurved product approved by min of Health (asper TV ADVERTISEMENT) Subsequently I contacted an AYURVED Practising Doctorwho also gave some capsules. Now I completely Stopped Allopathy and taking AYURVED medicines. After consuming 20 days of AYURVED my Blood Sugar Fasting is 309 and PP is 520. Kindly suggest me which system to follow. My both legs have burning sensation.

Mr. lybrate-user, Please understand for diabetes only treatment option available is in modern medicine, either oral anti-diabetes tablets and/or Insulin injections. So please shift back to appropriate drugs as earlier. However, it is essential to look at what dosage of the tablets or Insulin has to be given.
