We’ve heard over and over again that weight loss is important in managing PCOS and that diet and exercise are more effective than medications in improving your PCOS symptoms 1. Eat organic food. Avoid junk. 2. Drink lots of water. 3. Exercise regularly. Brisk walking is a good idea to keep weight under control. 4. Visit nature places and spend time alone. 5. Take steps to calm your mind. Worrying about the problem can only make it worse – listen to music, read or spend time gardening. Butterfly Pose can be very helpful in PCOS. Don’t flap your legs too much; instead try holding the posture for long. 1. Even more helpful is SuptaBadhakonasana (Reclining Butterfly Pose), which works just like the Butterfly Pose, this time lying down. This is what makes it extremely relaxing. To enhance the experience, play some soft music and place cushions under your hip. For beginners, it is a good idea to use cushion support while doing this posture. 2. Bharadvajasana (Bharadvaja’s Twist) is a seated spinal twist that helps PCOS patients. 3. Chakki Chalanasana (moving the grinding wheel) is a very simple exercise with several benefits. It helps massage the liver, kidneys, pancreas, uterus and the reproductive organs. 4. Shavasana (Corpse Pose) is another useful posture to try. In PCOS, the more you relax, the better you feel and this posture will help you completely relax at the end of your yoga session. 5. Padma Sadhana practice is also considered very effective for PCOS patients. 6. Make sure you don’t hold the postures that put pressure on the abdomen (Bow Pose, Superman Pose, Cobra Pose and Boat Pose) for a long time. 7. A few rounds of Sun Salutation at a faster pace can be good for weight loss; however, it is a good idea to practice only a few slow rounds daily for more relaxation. Myself being a homoeopathic doctor will advisse you to take homoeapathic treatment along with your present treatment I have developed some very effective combination homoeopathic medicines for PCOD with very favourable ressultss.Have faith in Homoeopathy a these homoeopathic medicines are very safe and free from side effects.

I am 40 years old and my morning fasting blood sugar reading ranges between 129 to 139 for the last 4 months. I didn't take any medicine yet. My blood uric acid levels are also high (almost 9), even when I am a pure vegetarian (not even eggs) for the last 15 years. I tried a bit of homeopathy medicine for a couple of months about 3 months before. Not much of a change. It brought down the fasting sugar reading from 139 to 129 and I discontinued that medicine. I don't take any sugar for tea or coffee. I have cut down on my sweets intake and also have changed to organic rice with brown husks and sometime to millet like horsetail millet. I dont drink alcohol. I drink only green tea. I also have ran a half marathon of 21 kms in less than three hours about 20 days ago. I feel tired after lunch and feel like my head is spinning and want to lied down and sleep and when I wake up after an hour, my head feels very heavy. My urine is always yellow (from slight to dark yellow. I married at the age of 38 and have a son of 1 year old. My Mom, my Sister, and my paternal Grandmother all have had diabetes. Is there any way that this sugar reading could be brought down to 100 by mere lifestyle changes and not by medicine. Has it occurred to anyone before. If you need any more information pertaining to my question please provide me with rightful answer Thank you.

You are already taking a diabetic diet and also doing exercises regularly which is good for your health. Now whether should we start with medication will depend on hba1c reading every three months.

Hello, having diabetes mellitus need not affect using of hair dye. Some persons may have allergy to a hair dye, if that happens then one has to stop. Allergy can cause a lot of different symptoms. So if you are allergic to it do not use.

My wife takes Eltroxin 75 mcg, first thing in the morning, for hypothyroidism. To regulate the dosage, should blood test for TSH be done before or after taking the medication in the morning?

Hello Sir, You can either take the blood test before taking the medication, first thing in the morning. Or you can take it 4- 5 hours after taking the medication. Ideally it is better to take it before the medication. Thank you.

I have diabetes since last November 2016 and had check up with the doctor who has prescribed Glycomet GP1 daily one tablet. Further I have been doing my blood check regularly and my fasting blood sugar is 137 on 05/02/2017 and on full stomach it is 200. Is it OK if I continue with the same medicine or whether you may like to prescribe some other medicine in its place. How is he position of blood sugar whether it is OK, High, Medium. I am having regular walk of 10 kms daily. I have given up all sweet items containing sugar. I have also not eating rice as far as possible. Any good advice Sir from your side.

You r absolutely fine sir. Your walking 10 km is a bit too much for your age, but if you r comfortable its fine. Blood sugar is you can say just a borderline medium. Do a blood test after 10-15 days n get bk to me. Glycomet GP 1 is a time tested med. Anytime you csn get in touch wid me for a prepaid chat n advice.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. You have uncontrolled hypothyroidism, that is the reason all those complaints are present. It is clear that current dosage of Thyroxine is inadequate. You may have to increase the dose by 12.5 mcg per day. Then check TSH after 6 weeks. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I am sure you are aware that after taking Levothyroxine (125 mcg) early morning on empty stomach, nothing should be taken for at least 1 to 1 and half hour. Water can be taken. If you want to drink warm water may take it after some time. Thanks.
