Hi, hope you are doing good, take rest for three days if pain is severe, then do hamstring and pariformis muscles stretching, and strengthing exercise of back muscles, with help of physiotherapist and learn all exercise and do regularly. Take care and be happy always.

I am a heavy drinker. Now I want to get rid of this and want my health back. Symptoms are sweating more than normal, loss of appetite, dramatic weight loss, tingling and numbness in tips of fingers and toes, reddish palm and foots, some times shaky dont even drink water with one hand, felling cold in ac room. Dear, alcohol dependence syndrome (addiction) is a serious condition which can cause harm to various organs of the body including brain and nervous system. The symptoms like tingling and numbness and shaky hands are due to peripheral neuropathy and weakness of the nervous system. Whereas loss of apetite and wt loss are due to liver and git dysfunction. Lot of time people believe addictions are just bad habits which can be left at anytime with some wiilpower. And only later they realise that its not as easy as it sounds plus it becomes alarmingly dangerous in later stages of addiction. Kindly consult a psychiatrist as soon as possible for complete evaluation and treatment. You may also have to consult a liver specialist if your suffering from jaundice or liver dysfunction. Do you have flat foot? if yes then put medeal arch support in your shoes. If no then strech your calf muscle, use soft cushioned sheos, avoid long standing, do contrast bath 3: 1.

I am 47 yr old male and having pain at the back of my heel since last two days and have difficulty in walking. Taking brufen reduces it for a few hours and then its the same. Also used r. I. C. E technique but not much improvement. Please advise.

For joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water.

Preventive Tips For Neck Pain

Sleep on your back

Sleeping on your back is the best position to let your entire spine rest comfortably. If you prefer to sleep on your side or on your stomach, make sure your pillow is not too high around 4 to 6 inches thick. This will prevent your head and neck from turning unnaturally to either side.

Position your computer screen at eye level

Sit comfortably in your office chair in front of your computer and close your eyes. When you open them, your gaze should be directly in the middle of your computer screen. If it is not, use books or other items to adjust the screen height.

Do not allow your head to drift forward over your shoulders. And don't forget to take frequent breaks get up and move around at least every 30 minutes.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part--knee rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Apply hot fomentation avoid bending forward activities avoid lifting heavy weights like bucket of water etc avoid long standing while sitting back should be well supported & use footrest do back isometrics- keep a roll of towel under your lower back then press your downwards, hold for 3 sec then relax, 10 times twice daily bridging- lie down, fold your knees, lift your back upwards, hold for 3 sec then relax, 10 times twice daily slr- lie down, raise your leg straight upto 30-45 degrees, hold for 3 sec then relax, 10 times each leg twice daily.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Passive physical therapy (modalities), which includes things done to the patient, such as heat application, ice packs and electrical stimulation. For example, a heating pad may be applied to warm up the muscles prior to doing exercising and stretching, and an ice pack may be used afterward to sooth the muscles and soft tissuesctive physical therapy, which focuses on specific exercises and stretching. For most low back pain treatments, active exercise is the focus of the physical therapy programDepending upon the patient's specific diagnosis and level of pain, the back pain exercises andrehabilitation programs will be very different, so it is important for patients to see a spine specialist trained to develop an individualized program of back exercises and to provide instruction on using the correct form and techniqu. Most of us will suffer from back or neck pain at some stage during our lives. The good news is, however, in most cases the pain is not serious in nature and can be remedied. Postural related back pain generally stems from sitting for long periods with overloaded or tight back and pelvic muscles. For example, if your rear thigh muscles (hamstrings) are tight, when you sit they will pull the pelvis out of position and increase tension on the lower back muscles. This in turn overstretches your back muscles and with lengthy periods of sitting will cause pain. This is one example of many variations of postural related back pain. However, one thing will be in common, progressively developing back pain from long periods of overstretched and overloaded back muscles and ligaments. When you first start to develop postural back pain it manifests itself as a low grade ache which tends to be relieved with light exercise or avoiding sitting. But after a while the pain increases and tends to be there most of the time regardless of what you do. It should be noted that a small percentage of back pain is caused by more serious conditions like a prolapsed disc or nerve compression. Symptoms that suggest a more serious back problem are leg pains, pins and needles or weakness in your leg or foot. These symptoms need to be properly assessed by a Chartered Physiotherapist So what can you so to reduce back or neck.
