Dear lybrate-user, fatty liver is almost an integral part of type 2 diabetes. Excess sugar in diabetes gets converted into triglycerides and cholesterol which get deposited in liver and hence the fatty liver. Best treatment for fatty liver in diabetes is weight loss and good sugar control. Please don't give up. Visit a diabetologist near to you and work hard to get sugars under control. All will be better.

My grand father is a diabetes patient and he wants to make a operation of his eyes how should he prevent from diabetes.
He can go ahead with his eye surgery. The eye surgeon will take adequate measures to prevent complications. From your side, make sure he is taking all diabetes medications on time, controls his diet well, takes up exercise (mostly walking) as advised, so that his sugars and all health parameters are maintained normally.

Lybrate-user, if you are having hypothyroidism and taking treatment, then it is essential to bring tsh levels down to <2 mu/l, otherwise conception may not occur. Further through out pregnancy tsh should be maintained as follows: 1st trimester 0.1 to 2 mu/l, 2nd trimester 0.3 to 3 mu/l & 3rd trimester 0.3 to 3.1 mu/l. If tsh levels go higher than above mentioned, then fetal development is affected, miscarriage may occur, pregnancy out come at full term may not good. So please take care of the tsh levels. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. A person in pre-diabetes state has to adapt a modified lifestyle, if he wants to postpone developing diabetes or preventing it. That means he should refrain from sweets, pastries, bakery items, foods made from maida, fruits like mango, banana, chikkoo, grapes. Dark chocolate is supposed to be good but without sugar in it. In your case with a BMI of 28.4 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs/M2), with a good deal of excess weight, you need to be more careful. Reason being one of the main cause for precipitating diabetes is excess weight second is inactivity. Thanks.

MBBS, PG Diploma In Emergency Trauma Care, Fellowship in Diabetes

I have diabetes from 25 yrs. From last 5 years I have food diabetes problem. Need help.
I hope your sugar levels are controlled. The treatment of diabetes is not that simple. There are many classes of diabetic drugs. It depends on extent of diabetes and complications to decide medicine for the diabetic person. Dosages are also decided upon depending on your acute and chronic sugar levels, fasting sugar levels, post prandial sugar levels, urine sugar levels, urine microalbumin levels, urea and creatinine levels. So, a complete diabetic profile needs to be done to reach for the best drugs and proper dosages. Here is the list of tests, please get them done and follow up with me. I will do the best and give you a proper treatment. 1. Hba1c. 2. Sugar - fasting and pp. 3. Urine - routine and microscopy. 4. Urine microalbumin. 5. Urea and creatinine. 6. Lipid profile. Follow up with the reports. I will set up a wonderful treatment plan to control your sugar levels. Additionally I will also make a customised dietary plan for you to take care of your sugar levels naturally.

Can diabetic patient take lemon with honey in warm water daily morning? Please clarify. Thanks.
Dear lybrate-user, you are not advised to take honey with warm water. Honey contains 70 calories 10 time sugar. As a diabetic patient carry on your medicines and have physical exercise 30 minutes morning. Take 100% safe ayurveda drugs to control your sugar level. Be attentive to your daily foods. Ok.

My diabetes automatic high before 2 days. I carefully in my diabetes. But why. High please tell me.

My diabetes automatic high before 2 days. I carefully in my diabetes. But why. High please tell me.
Mr Md Ayan, It is difficult to give any opinion, because no details are given like fasting and PP sugar levels, drugs being taken with dosage and extent of physical activity. Sudden increase in blood sugar levels may be due to food intake or having missed a dose. Otherwise it is most unlikely to happen. What is the HbA1c%? If your diabetes is in good control then fasting level should be nearer 100 mg and PP should be between 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c%<7.

I have very low vitamin d and increased uric acid and slightly increased thyroid. I came to know this last week. From that time I am taking medicine. What should I have to eat or drink and what I dont.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. A high uric acid level may cause increasingly frequent attacks of gout, or it may never cause problems. A high uric acid level may also cause some people to develop kidney stones or kidney failure. And some people with a high uric acid level also develop high blood pressure, heart disease or chronic kidney disease, but it's often unclear whether this is a direct cause or merely an early warning sign of these conditions. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills),Drinking too much alcohol,Genetics (inherited tendencies),hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid),Immune-suppressing drugs,Niacin, or vitamin B-3, obesity, psoriasis, Purine-rich diet — organ meat, game meat, anchovies, herring, gravy, dried beans, driedpeas, mushrooms and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers,Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Avoid protein diets, avoid more milk products. bad habits , fast food/fat/oily,salty foods. Coffee, smoking, alcohol intake. Non-veg., take whole grain, oats, green veg.,plenty of water in day time, 1 glass of water at night before bed.Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day.Take tab. Bencid 500 mg once a day. Tab. Ulracet sos or tab. Naprosyn 500 mg once a day or sos for pain in joints.
