Please note the followings in respect to your queries: Banana and Milk -- Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals. Note – Don’t eat bananas when you are down with common cold. If you have any medical disease that needs to be treated. Find a great personal trainer and yoga instructor to keep you consistent. Take Five phos - 4 tablets twice daily.

My DOB is 1st April 1983. I have lost mush weight in last 2 years and want to know what might be the reason for this. The one reason that I know is that I don't take my meals properly and rarely take breakfast. Could yo please suggest some ways to improve my appetite in order to help me gain weight.

My DOB is 1st April 1983. I have lost mush weight in last 2 years and want to know what might be the reason for this....
Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Thanks for the query. It is very possible that you are not eating the right foods at the right time. Most often we try to combine foods we feel are healthy but they do not affect our body because they are not provided when the body needs it. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.

How to gain weight. please tell me what should I have to do?

Diploma in Diabetology, Master of Hospital Administration, MBBS
General Physician,
How to gain weight. please tell me what should I have to do?
Our weight should be proportionate to our height. For every given height there is a normal weight range. You must do several things correctly to gain weight. A healthy diet: this is the foundation of gaining weight. If you don't do this right, the other things you do won't be effective and could even be harmful. Follow the following tips:- · Pay attention to your health and food intake. · To increase your appetite, have a glass of lime water or 1 cardamom (elaichi) before your meal. · Have minimum 4 meals in a day. · Drink 1 glass of milk twice a day. · Try to enjoy your meals and gradually increase the quantity you eat every time. · A balance diet should have all essential nutrients in it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It should include combination of Both Carbohydrates and Proteins for e.g. Oats with Milk or Poha/ Upma with a glass of milk. If you do not like milk have 1-2 egg whites in the morning along with your breakfast. · You need to focus on your protein intake : Increase your protein intake e.g. milk, dairy products- cheese, paneer, lentils (dals), nuts ( soya, peanuts, dry fruits ), pulses e.g. rajma, chole, kidney beans etc. sprouts. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you can have proteins by also eating eggs, chicken, fish. Make sure you are including at least 2 serving of any of these in your daily meal. · Lunch and dinner again should be a combination of Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats which could have dal, roti, sabji/chicken, salad. · Please do have minimum 4 almonds or a small bowl of peanuts every day. · Please ensure that you drink at least 3 litres of water every day.

Yes you are currently underweight. As per your current height & age, your weight should be 60-61 Kg. Being underweight is unhealthy as it reduces immunity, stamina & productivity. For weight gain, you may follow these tips: 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs intervals containing foods rich in nutrient & calorie density like paneer paratha, cheese-potato sandwich, dates-almonds milkshake, peanut chikki, til ladoo, banana kheer, atta halwa/gond ladoo, thicker atta-maida rotis with ghee, rice with ghee, cow/buffalo milk with skim milk powder, homemade cereal malt with milk & sugar, premix with soup, fruit juice, sugarcane juice, dry fruits, soyabean cutlet/roll, fruit lassi, egg curry, fatty fish, chicken 2. Drink 3 litres water daily (but not with or just before meal) 3. Avoid junk foods & empty calorie snacks 4. Enjoy meals in a peaceful environment without distractions 5. Eat fast & in bigger utensils 6. Practice strength exercises to increase lean mass- bench press, push up, squat, etc.

Dear , gastric and liver issues are highly related to our diet habit and so the cholesterol is. So first of all try to change your food habits. Take good and healthy breakfast, lunch and do some cut off in your dinner specially. Don't take fruits immediate after your meal. And avoidy salty spicy and street foods. Apart from that consult privately for further consultation.

Sangrahni is one of the tough diseases to cure. It's called tough because people now a days can't follow strict instructions. Otherwise it's not invincible. You must have been treated by various systems vviz allopathic, ayurveda etc. I ll suggest you to start the following decoction first of all. It's only preparation and not the final treatment. There would be few steps involved. First this decoction, then a herbal combo with curd, chhachh or warm water, then ras chikitsa with asavarishta and then parpati kalp (different parpati yogas are to be tried depending upon response). Anupana and food modifications are necessary. It will not take less than two three months. So first of all get chvya, chitrak, sonth, peepal, peeplamool raw quality herbs yourself. Grind at home. Make 1 cup decoction and take every 8 hrs for a week and then 12 hrly. Respond should be reported. This will give me accuracy for next step formula. You have to be in constant touch. Consult. I don't know what's the position now but water of tatwani chashma was found not good for health by health department at one point of time. Though it was very popular among residents at that time.
