Mr B A Kumar, Most patients with T2 DM some time later in disease have to shift on to Insulin as beta cell function progressively reduces. This may happen after 10, 15 or 20 years of having diabetes. You have mentioned that glucose levels are in control, if so then the level should be : Fasting closer to 100 mg and PP should be 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c% <7. If that is achieved then general health will be invariably good. Plus daily exercise for 1 hour and properly planned diet which gives exact amount of calories based on sugar levels, ideal body weight and extent of daily exercise. If you want any specific suggestions please come back with details like fasting and PP sugar levels, HbA1c%, dietary pattern and any other doubt that you may have.

Daily morning walk...brisk walk for 30 min is good enough... Take light easily digestible meals like khichdi ..daliya etc...and fruits like papaya.. Pomegranate in diet

Have been developing frequent sty on right eye. Normal sugar test were negative. No history of diabetics in family. Yet on fasting, my sugar reading showed 158 today with glucose meter. What dietary precautions to follow?

What do you mean normal sugar test was negative? if glucometer is showing 158 mg, it is better to check fasting and after food sugar levels and hba1c also. If diabetes is confirmed take proper treatment. For repeated sty take tablet moxikind - cv 625 twice a day for 6 days. Infection will be mostly controlled.

How can you eat healthy? This is a question that plagues many of us. The quest for a youthful looking body that is also slim and well-toned is something that we all strive for. So what all can you do to ensure that you indulge in healthy eating for a healthy body and mind? Try these nine tips.

  1. Eating the Right Carbohydrates: Choose the right carbs that will help you pile up on energy with the right kind of food. Sugar and flour can cause an overload of carbs in your digestive system, while oats, cereals and complex carbs like whole grains are high in fibre.

Diabetes is caused due to no insulin production or insulin is produced but not utilised. If it is not managed slowly it starts effecting other organs also. Diet medication and physical activity three things together will help you to control your diabetes.

Hi, do regular exercise. Take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight include protein rich food in your diet like soyabean, sattu with milk, sprouts, milk and milk products, combination of cereals and pulses, take healthy and heavy breakfast. 1. For increasing weight. First we have to work on your digestive system. It will do aam pachan and will increase your digestive power and appetite. 2. Mix 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, ginger and cumin powder with honey to make a paste. Take 1 teaspoon 3 times a day. 3. Take small meals 4-5 times a day. 4. Eat healthy n light food. 5. Drink plenty of fluids. 6. Avoid constipation. 7. Walk 1km daily in evening. 8. Follow up after a week.
