You have to supplement the nutrition to make up the loss of energy if you venture into abs. Proteins (natural ones) should be used alongwith herbal combos.

For pre diabetes avoid sugar and sugar products. Avoid High salted namkeen High fatty foods. Avoid roots and roots vegetables like potato, Arbi, jimikand, shakarghand. Avoid in Fruits Chiku, grapes,mango banana.

My father aged 70 yrs, type 2 diabetic, diagnosed TB 2 years back n completed 8months DOTS medication, now recently 6 months he is having cold sometimes running nose oftenly in summer also. Is he prone to pneumonia type diseases due to TB factor. I heard of pneumonia vaccination available if so name, type of vaccine can be given as precautionary step. For TB routine analysis any blood test to check any symptoms or growth of any virus. Pls do give your valuable suggestions. Tanx alot.

Hi Lybrate-user there are two types of vaccination available for Pneumonia in adults. Pneumococcal vaccine (type 13 and 23). This has to be given once in 5 years. Influenza virus vaccine. This has to be given Every year. There are no blood tests recommended for routine TB analysis. Though one test IGRA is used abroad for screening for TB it's use in INdia where TB prevalenc is high is questionable.

Take high protein prescribed diet, have paneer, eggs, lean meat and potatoe daily. Incorporate dry fruits in your diet on a daily basis. Eat a balanced diet gradual weight management is always advisable. An increase in 500 kcal per day can result in increasing the body weight by 0.5 kgs per week. Objective should be to restore a desirable weight/ ideal body weight according to one's age, gender and height. To rebuild body tissues, a good nutritional status is important do reply back for private consultation.

You plan should include combination of carbs, protein and saome portion of good fat in order to give you energy. Take milk and carbs like poha, toast, stuffed roti, sandwich, idli in bf, lunch should include proteins n carbs combined like dal n sabzi with chapati dinner- should be light, take mid day meals to control your hunger and to improve your digestion like diet namkeens, bhuna chana, fruits, salads for more detail call for consultation.

You have to decrease the consumption of ghee, oily and fatty food stuff. No eating chocolates, ice creams, cakes, pastries. Decrease butter and cheese intake. Minimum consumption of non veg food. Have a lot of salads and greens. Drink at least 5-6 liters of water daily.

Healthy weight gain means more increase in muscles and to a certain extent fat in order to support those muscles. Just eating anything or high calorie foods will result in only fat gain which will not give you a proper body shape and will also be detrimental later in life. A diet high in protein and adequate carbohydrate in necessary. In order to achieve a healthy weight you should know what you have to eat and how much to eat. You are just 20 years old and you can definitely achieve the fit body with good amount of muscle tissue. Smoking does effect your health in lot of ways. Quit smoking to have a healthy life. However, the healthy way of putting on weight is good diet and exercise. Now, you should focus on what you are eating. Increase your protein intake and good fats. Avoid fried foods and sweets. Take more protein rich foods such as eggs, fish, lean meat, soya chunks, paneer, curds. You should aim at increasing weight through proper diet rich in multiple sources of protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. You should consult a health coach/nutritionist for getting a proper advise on how to increase your weight in the right way. The weight increasing supplements that are usually marketed on tv and media have lot of carbs and sugars, which increase your weight by the way of increasing your fat percentage, which is not the right thing to do. Your job commitment may nor allow you to move around but it is advisable not to sit at one place more than 30 min. The biggest culprit contributing to increase stomach fat is high carb diet. So I advise you to shift to high protein diet. It will reduce your appetite and in turn reduce stomach fat. Another effective tip is not to use elevators as far as possible.
