Hi lybrate-user to reduce belly fat you need to be particular about food choices & timings. Eat small & frequent meals. Include high fiber foods in your diet such as whole cereals & whole pulses. Drink plenty of water. Avoid refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Keep check on your food intake.

My feet get hotter in the night and I Don't know why I went for a checkup and my sugar level was 94 which is not bad. I thought it was diabetes but my A1c was great. Please what causes burning sensation in the feet during the night?

My feet get hotter in the night and I Don't know why I went for a checkup and my sugar level was 94 which is not bad....
There are several causes of hot feet, including: Nutrient deficiencies Nerves require certain nutrients to function correctly. If the body cannot absorb nutrients, then the risk of nerve damage — and hot feet — increases. Deficiencies in folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B-12 can contribute to neuropathy. According to research, malnutrition and nutritional deficiencies are associated with: •alcohol abuse •eating disorders •homelessness •lower economic status •older age •pregnancy Diabetic neuropathy One of the most common causes of hot feet is diabetic neuropathy. This condition is caused by damage to the nerves and is a complication of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Along with burning sensations, symptoms include pain, tingling, and numbness in the arms, hands, legs, and feet. Pregnancy Women who are pregnant may experience hot feet due to hormonal changes that increase body temperature. An increased load on the feet due to natural weight gain and an increase in total body fluid may also play a role in hot feet during pregnancy. Menopause Menopause can cause hormonal changes that lead to increased body temperature and hot feet. Most women experience menopause between the ages of 45 and 55. Fungal infection At any one time, it is estimated that 15 to 25 percent of people have athlete's foot, a common fungal infection. Prompt treatment of this infection is important because it can spread to other areas of the body, as well as to other people.

I had diagnosed and come to know that I am having deficiency of protein and calcium so what should I do.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hello Sadeer, The best way to recover the deficiencies in your body is through foods. Pulses and fish are the best sources of proteins. You need to eat a proper sumptuous diet. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. For calcium, the richest source of calcium are Ragi millet and milk. If you incorporate the right things in your diet, your deficiencies can be over come by diet alone and you will not require any supplements.

Hi I understand your concern. You can consult a physician first to check your balance of hormones and any absorption issues. Start having wholesome foods like roti, rice, lentils, sprouts milk n it's products, soyamilk, sattu, egg, chicken and fish. Try to take Carbohydrate & protein in every meal, do less of cardio activity.

Atta is a product, which will be getting through the processing of wheat and Gluten is a protein present in wheat. During preparation once you mix atta with water the polymerization will happen and it will become elastic in nature. Through avoiding the gluten completely, it is not possible to prepare foods such as chapati, paratha etc. As per FSSAI 6% gluten is allowed and Aashirwad atta have the same. If you have any gluten sensitivity disease, then you should avoid the food products with gluten to avoid stomach discomfort.

Hi lybrate-userto gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.
