I am 70 years old male. Recently I developed initial stage of oa in left knee and was advised colla cee gs. Dose was 28gms per day. Took for 3/months. My pain reduced by 80%. Doctor said to give gap of 3 months. My question is if this medicine is managing pain or provide lubricant in knee joints? how long it should be take.

Orthopedist, Delhi
Hello, this is Dr. Mathur from new delhi. Welcome to lybrate. Collacee gs basically contains collagen granules and glucosamine which terms to repair the lost cartilage. So it is not a painkiller but tends to increase the lubrication of the joint in a way.

This may be because of muscle tension in one or more areas of the body, injuring the muscle while engaging in physically demanding work or exercise.

Every time patient comes with the back problem, they ask for instant relief. But they often forgets that analgesic medicine are for short term. And pain is only a symptom not a disease or disorder. Our Approach towards a problem should be appropriated and well directed. It must ADDRESS the origin of pain that is cause of pain. I suggest you to go to a Good Physiotherapy Clinic. They have pain relieving modalities also. In addition they will guide you about your posture and suggest you Exercises which will help you in a LONG RUN. Feel free For further guidance. Regards.

Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

I have pain in ankle of my right leg and undergone physiotherapy and the pain started again in one month after. Uric acid counting was 7.6 and took medicine for one month and it came to 6.0 but the pain still remains more in the morning. Does it have any relation with food habit and blood circulation. My height is 1.71m and weight is 80 kg. Please advise.

That might be due to knee pain or it might be due to ankle pain. Our suggestion would be to do hot water fermentation along with Cold (ice) therapy. You shall also keep a pillow under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes. Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area.
