Dear I think we need more information to understand the cause of pain. Maybe you have shin splint which is a common sports injury and acl rupture is coincidental.

Dear lybrateuser, - Sleep on a firm mattress which supports the spine well - sit straight with good back support - take pain relief tab after meals if pain is more - learn spine strengthening exercises & do them regularly to strengthen the muscles & soft tissues which support the spine - do x-ray spine if there is not much improvement in pain & consult a doctor

I am 28 years old I have backache and knee ache sometime but whenever it aches I just feel like hell. I have to sleep for long time whenever my backaches because at that movement I am unable to move my any part of body. What should I do?

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. - physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. Knee pain is a common complaint that affects people of all ages. Knee pain may be the result of an injury or some other medical conditions including arthritis, patellar tendinitis, acl injury, knee bursitis, torn meniscus, gout and infections. Try some home remedies for your pain- - ice is useful for the control of pain and swelling. It can be applied to the knee for 15 to 20 minutes as often as every two to four hours. The swollen knee should be elevated above the level of the heart while icing. -activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities should be avoided until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting jogging aerobics, dancing playing sport specific exercises will help you improve range of motion, strength, and endurance. It is especially important to focus on strengthening and stretching your quadriceps since these muscles are the main stabilizers of your kneecap. Core exercises may also be recommended to strengthen the muscles in your abdomen and lower back. Also maintaining a healthy body weight to avoid overstressing your knees are very important. -a full history of your problems (back and knee pain) should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. You can check simple tsh blood test for thyroid. Do some knee exercises. Avoid prolong standing and sitting. For short time you can take any anti inflammatory and analgesic. Otherwise you can consult me.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I will have to understand why you are having these pains in multiple joints of the body. You need to get some blood tests done and send me the results so that I can see them and advise accordingly: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels. The reports of these tests can give us a clue to whether there is any inflammation going on, also if there is any deficiency, that can be corrected as well. Is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use this no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated.

You should visit to orthopedic doctor for proper investigation for the cause of trouble and specific treatment. Maintain right posture of the body because most of the time cause of backache is postural. Eat calcium rich food. Avoid forward bending and overexertion of the spines. Rest on firm mattress. Do mild and bearable exercise of back.

For knee pain do regular knee exercises. Eat milk daily to get adequate calcium. Get sunlight exposure during 11 am to 2 pm for 30 minutes. You will need some medicines if pain does not get relives after 15 days of exercises.

Cerebral palsy is a non progressive disease which causes motor delays along with other symptoms which like low iq, disorder with sensory system etc. Till now there is no cure for the disease but with physiotherapy and occupational therapy a child can learn normal movement patterns which his brain might not know on its own and be able to perform it with practice. Its a gradual process and therapy would continue for a long time. Please start with the therapy as soon as possible.

I am suffering from muscle pain, that when I try to stretch my arm or leg I feel pain for at least half an hour. Pain is vey high. What is the solution.

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Get some relax during the work and walk for 15 min. In between the work. Intake healthy diet and green leafy vegetables. Drink 1 glass of milk every day with half table spoon of turmeric. Do cervical exercises for that. And not use pillow at night.

Hi lybrate-user Ankylosing spondylitis has to be confirmed by HLA B27 test and x-ray of spine, pelvis. Physical therapy is mainstay of treatment. For exacerbations of acute phase, corticosteroid and antiinflammatories like Arflur etc are prescribed. Supportive treatment with calcium, vitamin D and B12 are given Do not worry, as the symptoms are manageable with above remedies. You can carry on your activities Do not panic consult a physician, physiotherapist and take medicines as above ,exercises and mild anxiolytic medicines like clonazipam or which your physician may consider to allay anxiety.
