Hello, I am Dr Sajna. I am an Ayurveda physician and specialized in Panchakarma therapy. We are doing authentic ayurvedic treatment and special Kerala Panchakarma treatment. Here I want to talk about the Back pain management through Ayurveda. Nowadays back pain has become very common and people are not aware of its cause and the correct treatment. There are many reasons for back pain such as;

For treating this problem, seek for a good doctor, know the main cause and start the treatment.

How can we manage back pain with the help of Ayurveda?

Here in the Ayurveda, we are treating back pain into two different ways;

  • Shamana Therapy
  • Shodhana Therapy

Shamana therapy is basically a meditation which helps in strengthening muscles, veins, nerves and helps in reducing swelling and pain. It is a drug treatment which includes massage. The medicine is poured on the swelled part of the body, in order to get relief from pain and swelling

The other one is Sneha Swed Therapy. It includes oil massage, medicated leaves. The massage with this mixture is extremely helpful in pain relief and selling treatment. It helps in strengthening muscles and give relief to nervous, also it reduces compression.

The second part of the treatment is to reduce the reoccurrence and the compression. That is the Shodhana Therapy which is also called Detoxification process. Here in back pain, we do three types of detoxification process;

  • First is the Nasal cleaning. This is basically a cervical problem. In this, we pour some medicated oil or the decoction in the nasal for its cleaning.
  • Second is for the lower back, that is, Basti and the Virechana.

Virechana is a loose motion process. This helps in cleaning the bawal and helps in reducing the pain.

  • The other one is Basti. This is one of the main treatment in Ayurveda. It is a Panchkarma treatment, which is called Enema. There are two types of Enema- Oil Enema and Khada enema (decoction of medication). This Basti is helpful in reducing the vada which is accumulated in the lower back, causing the back pain. it also helps in reducing the compression.

Sometimes the pain radiates to the legs, which is called Sciatica or Gridhrasi.

So the main treatment is Panchkarma treatment which helps in reducing nervous compression, muscle relaxation and helps in reducing reoccurrence pain.

So this is a small description of Ayurvedic treatment for back pain. Yogasana is also one of the successful treatment for reducing back pain. Here we provide ayurvedic treatment in the best possible way.

8 Effective Ways Of Maintaining Stress!

8 Effective Ways Of Maintaining Stress!

Stress, the new buzzword, has become an inevitable part of our lives. Take any of today’s diseases, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, cancer, sleep disorders, indigestion, infertility, depression, memory loss, migraines, etc. All of them have a common contributing factor stress.

Ayurveda believes that health is the result of balance maintained between the three elements or doshas, vata, pitta, and kapha. An imbalance between these 3 components is the main cause of ill health. Different diseases have one of these as predominant factor. Stress disrupts the balance and so contributes to various diseases. Managing stress is one of the keys to maintaining good health and thereby avoiding a lot of lifestyle related disorders.

Read on to know and understand some of the simple but effective ways of maintaining stress.

  1. Yoga Asanas: While yoga, in general, is believed to calm the mind and reduce stress, shava asana (corpse pose) sarvanga asana (Shoulder stand), hala asana (plough pose), simha asana (lion pose) and shalabhasana (locust pose) are greatly beneficial in reducing stress.
  2. Take a break: A break to break away from the mundane routine helps. Try doing nothing for a short while and see how this practice calms the nervous system and provides a clear state of mind.
  3. Mind your mind: Stress is often caused by fear of what might happen. Changing attitude to a positive one can go a long way in reducing overall stress.
  4. Analyse your stressors: If you can change it, go ahead and change it. If you cannot, change the way you react to it or simply ignore it. It is definitely not possible to have control over all things in life. Learning this helps greatly in managing stress.
  5. Meditation: Using Om, take deep breaths and focus on air moving through the lungs and the body. This can be done anywhere and leaves you with a calm mind and body. Pranayama also increases the flow of oxygen to all parts of the body and relaxes you completely.
  6. Hand it down: The ends of the finger have pressure points which act as energy channels for the body. The padding at the end of the thumb and the middle portion of the index finger are linked to the brain and can be stimulated to manage stress. Most yoga asanas use this hand posture.
  7. Warm baths: Add some ginger juice and baking soda to the bucket of hot water. This improves circulation and helps you in feeling light, with elevated mood.
  8. Herbal teas: These are, simply put, magical. Substances like chamomile, tulsi, basil, jasmine, Brahms, cardamom, etc. provide a soothing effect on the mind and body. The aroma and taste of these leave you feeling elated, with the stress disappearing with their vapours.

How Home Remedies Help Prevent Hair Fall?

How Home Remedies Help Prevent Hair Fall?

Men and women alike dread the thought of hairfall. For most of us, this is an age related problem, but for others it could also be a sign of an unhealthy lifestyle. Thankfully, there are many home remedies that are effective ways to treat hair fall.

  1. Onion juice: The sulphur present in onion can help reduce hairfall and speed up the hair growth process by increasing the production of collagen in the body. Chop or grate an onion and squeeze out the juice. Apply this to your scalp and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing off with a mild shampoo. Ideally, this should be repeated twice a week.
  2. GarlicGarlic is also a rich source of sulphur, but it cannot be used in its pure form. Boil a little coconut oil with a few crushed cloves of garlic. Massage the cooled mixture into your scalp and leave for about half an hour before washing it off. You could combine this with onion juice as well.
  3. Coconut: Coconut oil is very good for the hair as it can promote hair growth as well as reduce breakage and prevent hair fall. If you are using bottled coconut oil, warm it before massaging into the scalp. Alternatively, grate a coconut and mix with a little water before squeezing out the milk from it. Apply this on the scalp and leave overnight.
  4. Amla: Amla or the Indian gooseberry is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. This helps keep the scalp healthy and promotes hair growth. To benefit from it, apply a mixture of lemon juice and amla juice or amla powder on the scalp. Once dry, rinse the mixture off with luke warm water. If used in the initial stages of hair fall, amla can help reverse the process.
  5. FenugreekFenugreek contains hormone antecedents that help stimulate hair growth and help strengthen hair follicles. Soak a cup of dried fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind into a paste. Apply this paste to your scalp and leave for about half an hour before rinsing off. Using this hair mask every morning for a month should have noticeable results.
  6. Aloe VeraThe enzymes in aloe vera promote healthy hair and help stabilise the scalp’s pH levels thereby promoting hair growth. It can also help reduce itchiness and dandruff. To benefit from it, you could consume a tablespoon of aloe vera juice or apply aloe vera juice directly onto the scalp as a hair mask.
