Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Contrast bath- Fill two buckets/ tubs with Very Hot Water and Very Cold water. Immerse your legs into the water for 3 minutes and then switch to cold water for 1minute. Repeat this 3 times once a day. Ankle Stretching. Ankle Strengthening Exercises. Avoid Squatting. Quadriceps Exercises. Core Strenthening Exercises.

I am 62 yers old. I have pain on left foot heel when wake up in the morning. It will last for 10 -15 minutes.

Pain in heels is a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomentation keep a pillow under the legs at night &/when resting. Any way take take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do ankle/foot & toe exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Pain killers or any oil can not reduce your pain, you must have to take heat fermentation and regular excercise and proper diagnosis will only help you in getting rid of pain.

I am 60 years old. Suffering with frozen shoulder since 4 months. Taken Ayurveda medicines prescribed by Ayurveda doctor. There is reduction in pain. But still shoulder pains in specific movement. Frozen shoulder needs continuous treatment. Exercise therapy and manual therapy is the right choice of treatment. Consult a physiotherapist who will guide you for a far better recovery using scientific knowledge. You will have to continue physiotherapy for atleast a month.

My mother's age is 48. She used to feel pain in her left leg whenever she sat down or while in the bathroom since a few weeks. We did an MRI scan. It showed that the disc L4-L5 & L3-L4 (a bit less) is suppressing the nerve which goes to left leg. The doctor (Neurologist) had given her medicines-season, esoflam, pantosec-d, neurobion temporarily and suggested her to get admitted in hospital for 7 days during which she will be treated on injections and medicines. He said there isn't any need for any operation. Now my mother has stopped bending forward since 10 days. She feels a bit of pain in left leg continuously now and more pain while sitting in toilet. So can physiotherapy treatment help her to get relieved of the pain PERMANENTLY & can it help in freeing the nerve which is suppressed. What treatment should be best for her right now- Physiotherapy or Getting Admitted. Or should she go with Physiotherapy now and if she still feels pain then get admitted? And what kind of treatment should she follow in physiotherapy? Thanks a lot for taking time out and going through the query.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times

Hi, I broken my left leg ankle distal fibula non-displaced fracture on Dec 29 2016 and my Ortho doc suggested to have casting boot and took off after 4 weeks now m walking with fit bandage for another 2 weeks but my ankle pain went off and foot hurts a lot than my fracture ankle while walking. I couldn't hold my weight due to foot. Orthopaedic doc told to come after 2 weeks to remove this for bandage and will take an x-ray and then I can do my routine work. But I can walk for only 10 min after tat feel to take rest and leg elevated. Pls suggest what to do. M really feeling lik hell while walking without boots. Foot really hurts a lot.

The fracture wouldn't have healed properly that's the reason for you to have pain while you started walking. Generally lower limb takes more time to heal as the entire body weight is taken by the foot. It is important to wear MCR chappals as it distributes the weight evenly and it makes the foot to feel less pressure. You can take good Iron supplement, calcium and vitamin D which will help you to have quick recovery and also it helps for quick healing and recovery. You can do hot water fermentation will help to reduce the inflammation and it helps to have better range of motion. If you practice this way it will not hurt your foot any more.

Staying healthy involves a wholesome state of being where the mind and body are in perfect sync. A less than properly functioning body can leave you in a state of potential depression after a certain point of time, while a depressive mind can leave you feeling less than stellar where you end up imagining and experiencing pain. The health of your bones and joints is one such area that requires even more care as you start growing older. Wear and tear is just one of the reasons for degeneration while fractures and injuries can lead to a sudden halt of normal functioning of the bones and joints too.

So how can you ensure bone and joint health in the long run? Follow our tips!

  1. Eating Right: Pick calcium rich food like dairy products that have a low fat content, including milk and yogurt. Also, have a daily dose of green, leafy vegetables and plenty of citrus fruit and juices for your fill of calcium. Further, food like eggs and soybeans which have lots of vitamin D can also help in retaining good bone and joint health. Vitamin C rich fruit like watermelon, oranges, squash and tomatoes also help in natural tissue and cartilage repair. And finally, get plenty of vitamin K to retain good bone density for a prolonged period with ingredients like leafy green vegetables, eggs and cheese.
  2. Exercise: This is the key to good bone and joint health. Much like machinery and tools, the bones and joints of your body can also wither with disuse and prolonged inactivity. Make sure that you indulge in exercises like long walks and muscle strengthening exercises which will give your joints and bones good amount of strength as well. Remember to speak with your doctor before you start a new exercise regime so that you avoid anything that may be harmful in case you have any other ailment. Low impact exercises will strengthen the spine, while fat burning and weight loss exercises will ensure that there is less pressure on the knees and lumbar area. Swimming and resistance building exercises can also be practised for these purposes.
  3. Abstinence: A major factor in promoting better bone and joint health is abstinence from all those things that can create problems in the long run, like smoking, drinking excessively and even too much consumption of caffeine and fatty food. All these things can create depletion of the natural bone mass. Also, switching to a lower heel for everyday wear footwear and changing your position during your time at your workstation are a few things that will go a long way.

Hi There are various causes for foot pain like planter fascities , achilies tendonitis etc. Self-management may include using ice, stretching, wearing proper footwear and altering training (exercise) methods. Ice should be applied for approximately 20 minutes. Try using a frozen bottle of water and gently rolling it under the arch and heel.

Hi looks like you have restless legs syndrome (rls) kindly rule out iron deficiency, diabetes. It can also be due to peripheral neuropathy alcohol and sleep deprivation. Treatment * begin a regular exercise program, *establish a regular sleep patterns, and *eliminating or decreasing the use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco, may be helpful. *leg massages *apply hot baths or heating pads or ice packs to the legs do reply for detail treatment plan.

for joint pain you should be test uric acid, calcium and vit.D. there is weakness so take coffee in the morning. and also take cap. multivitamin at night with milk. it minimised numbness in morning. take tab. dolo sos for pain.

Sir meri mom ko sujan ki problem hai. Mediation lete wakt sujan utar jaati hai. Pehle unhe seene me dard tha to medition se thik ho gayi thi. Lekin ab fir wahi problem hai. Stomach gas problem bhi hai. Koi bhi permanent solution nahi mil raha hai. Please help me.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually there are many causes for swelling in limbs like cardiac causes, deranged lft, kft, thyroid profile etc. Since she has also been complaining of chest pain etc, my advise is to meet up with a cardiologist and rule out a cardiac cause for it first, then you can consult a general physician to rule out other causes for these symptoms. Hamstring Stretch Lie on your back with your left leg flat on the floor. Loop a towel or rope around your right foot and pull your leg as far as comfortable toward your chest, while keeping a slight bend at the knee. Keep your back pressed to the floor throughout the stretch. Hold for 10 to 30 seconds and then release. Repeat 3 or 4 times with each leg. Do this stretch 5 or 6 times a week. Short-Arc Knee Extensions In the same starting position as the straight-leg raises, put a ball (about the size of a basketball) under your left knee so that your leg is bent. Slowly straighten your leg. Hold, then slowly lower. Repeat with your right leg. Exercises To Avoid A few of the following exercises can be done safely if you have chronic knee problems; they're on this list because they're more likely to be done improperly. The exercises above are safer, while still giving you similar results. •Full-arc knee extensions •Lunges •Deep squats •Hurdler's stretches.
