Dear you can follow these methods for relief from Backache(back pain): * First correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back.You can use lumber belt for support. * Do regular back strength exercises.Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * Do not sleep on very soft bed ,sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * Do Tadasana and Bhjangasana for back strengthening.If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. * Take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin D supplements regularly. *Do not Take any heavy weight or heavy work. * If you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. You can consult me to get a diet chart. * You can take Guggalu tablets of Himalaya for fast relief. You can consult me privately for detailed and complete treatment.

I am 51 years old, at menopausal stage. Sometimes feel hungry even after eating full meal and sometimes don't feel hungry at all because of which my weight gets added easily. I am 80 kgs though I walk everyday for minimum 1 hour a day on week days and 2 hours a day on weekends. I doubt that the weight gain causes knee pain. In addition to that I get knee swelling after every exhaustive day or strenuous work. Please advise.

better watch out. menopausal weight gain is physiological @ half kg per year or may be more and it is hormonal and non reversible. you are right ,walking more does cause knee pain as weight is carried by lower limbs. do exercises which involve entire body. get a stable cycle with rowing and exercise at home-cycling is less strenous than walking. eat healthy ,may be one meal a day. rest of the day only seasonal vegetables and fruits in plenty. lemon juice/apple cider vinegar do burn fat. yoga can help tone up muscles and help reduce weight too.

I have pain in my both feet. I have checked my blood test and my Uric Acid is 8.29 mg. Is the increase uric acid responsible for foot pain. What is the reason for aggressive uric acid. Mr. Lybrate-user, 8.29 mg is high concentration, upper limit being 7 mg. So it is possible that uric acid could be the cause for pain. To reduce uric acid intake of purine containing foods should be reduced. Foods like red meat, organ meat, certain fishes and sea foods like herring, haddock, trout, sardines, salmon, scallops, mushrooms, mussels etc. Avoid sweetened aerated drinks, alcohol and high milk products. Skin less chicken, eggs, other milk products (low fat) and a variety of vegetables are good. Plus if need be then drugs helping reduction of uric acid level in blood may be taken. Thanks.

You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any limb pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. This could be due to oa knee & obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency it may have to be further investigated.

Hi your nervous pain might be occurring due to some compression of nerve in you neck region (cervical region) this can happen due to tight muscle as you are young it should be definately due to tight muscle aroung you neck so try to take some hot pack twice a day for 10 minutes each your muscle will get relaxed and then you should feel better if not, then I think you should show it to some physiotherapist.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief see a physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

From her symptoms it seems like she has developed osteoarthritis (oa) of knee. A heating pad or cold pack can feel really good on achy joints. Use whichever one feels better unless you have an injury, in which case cold is best for the first couple of days. You can apply cold or heat several times a day. Just remember to cover the cold pack with a towel and keep your heating pad at a low setting to avoid burning your skin. Whether you use heat or cold, remove it after 20 to 30 minutes. Physical activity is essential for people with osteoarthritis, whether it means walking around your apartment. Activities that cause pain should be avoided temporarily. -if the knee is swollen or sore, the following positions and activities you should avoid until knee pain and swelling resolve: squatting kneeling twisting and pivoting try to take the dietary supplements glucosamine for knee pain. Try using a cane to help her walk can take some of the weight off a painful hip or knee. It might even slow the damage from knee osteoarthritis. Please see a physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of knee pain. Best wishes.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Dear user. It is common to get body pains and feel lazy after getting from sleep. Check out for your vitamin and calcium levels in your body. Due to weakness you feel pain. Take some vitamin pills and do excercises in the early morning to avoid weakness.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.
