Hello Lybrate user. It seems that you hav done the related diagnosis. As you mentioned above ther r possibility you have developed early osteoarthritis in both knee. Increase intake of natural sources of calcium n protein. Reduce all activity which r pain aggravating. Apply cold packs or icing for 20 min 2 time a day .do quadriceps static n slr exercises. Put towel roll under your inme ,press roll down using knee ,it's surrounding muscles. Hold it for 1 5 sec for 10 repetition for thrice a day n do hamstring stretches. If you have no injury in sport place like running and playing. Then do physiotherapy treatment and exercise for proper movement otherwise mri must to see ligament injury.

Hi, This is Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. If you have ACL injury i think it is best to get it reconstructed Arthroscopically to prevent joint degeneration and maintain stability of joint. I'm 33 year old. Since last 1-2 years neither i'm able to sit or stand for even few minutes. I feel my legs and back have become too weak. If I walk, my legs start paining & when I sit on the ground, it takes some time to get up and straighten my back. I'm unable to sit upright on the chair as well. My job for last 10 years has been operating the computer, in night shifts. Please let me know at the earliest what my medical condition is & what I need to do to overcome this problem. Thank you.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Because of your previous history and lifestyle I will advise you conservative management initially failing which we will have to investigate you in a greater detail. For back pain: if you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. For leg pain: actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

In all probability bone malunion or deformity must be there. You may consult in a govt. District hospital orthopedic surgeon at the hospital, he may do the management under guidance of Poor's treatment mandatory in govt hospitals under some rules for benefits scheme for poor and destitute. Even charity hospital if available can be helpful. Walking aids, etc,braces ,are provided free of cost by voluntary association of handicaps assistance, which a govt doctor in your city would guide you to. It maybe possible for him to do necessary corrections also to your limb injuries with cast, dressings,medications free of cost available there.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Cotrol diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Stiffness of elbow is very common after its dislocation. You should not be moving your elbow so early after the accident as chances of repeat dislocation is high.
