I am a 69 years old man suffering from joint pains. Specially lower back lumber is bothering one. About 20 years back I was advised surgery of spine since my MRI scan had shown abnormality at L 3 -4-5. After very ten or fifteen yards I had to rest for a while and move again. I refused surgery since doctors did not guarantee 100% recovery . I tried every alternate treatment available including physiotherapy many a times. All these years I did feel discomfort but could manage my life reasonably well. I do fallow many do's and don'ts advised by orthopedic doctors. Lately it's not only my lumber but knee, and shoulder have also been bothering me . Climbing steps to even 2nd floor I am not comfortable . I even get breathless . About a month back it appeared 20 years back situation is going to bother me again but some how of its own it improved and it's much better now. Please advise. I am a retired man with a meager source of income. Please NOTE I am with a solitary kidney. I did take medicine for gaout and BP for some time. Now I ain't taking any medicine. My BP reading normally is found to be around 90/140. God bless you.

Surgery should be the final resort only after all the other non invasive treatments have failed. I hope that the physiotherapy treatment that you have taken included exercise for back extensor strengthening, postural correction and use of braces. Due to the solo kidney working out and age factor the stress on the kidney to retain calcium and other minerals is doubled. Your blood pressure too is of concern. A fresh healthy vegetarian diet to compensate for the allopathy medicine and for your kidney along with isometric exercises for all the joints should manage the situation well for you.

Dear doctor. I had a fracture near ankle with tibia bone and having a pop from 20 days what suggest me for calcium intake. I am taking one a tablet for calcium as advised by my doctor is there any other supplement to be used. Please reply.

I am 60 years of age. I am feeling pain in the left knee. The pain is not from the joints but at the lower front of knee. What could be the reason and possible remedy.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. It may be because of meniscus tear or ligament injury. So you feel any click inside knee or instability during running or walking on uneven ground? Do quadriceps and Hamstrings strengthening. Do cycling exercise.

dont stress your body too much. As you are only 16 so your muscles have also not developed fully..Take rest for 2-3 days from gym..take tablet hifenac-mr twice daily for 2 days

Long sitting is your problem tk break between work do walk spine. Extension exercise avoid toward bending. Heat fermentation twice a day and do spine stretching exercise in daily routine.

If you have leg pain pls check your body weight and your haemoglobin levels, as Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. I am 19 year old. 1 month earlier I got pain in right knee then I consulted doctor, got blood checked. Report came that uric acid is 7.2 in blood. Daily I took 2 zyloric 100 mg tablets and after 1 month it is 5.6 but still I get sometimes mild pain in my right knee. Why is the reason? and I am not fat.

Kindly show me your all reports. Never withdraw zyloric suddenly. Kindly show me photograph& the x rays of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. The pain may be due to tight muscles in legs such as calf, hamstrings and quadriceps. Try doing stretches for the leg muscles. Avoid prolong standing. Sometimes leg pain may be referred from low back. Hot and cold therapy can also help relax muscles. Wish you speedy recovery.

Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the knee against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.
