My tailbone pains a lot while I sit. This started when I sat continuously for 6 hrs on a chair.

My tailbone pains a lot while I sit. This started when I sat continuously for 6 hrs on a chair.
You might be suffering from coccydynia. In this condition there is inflammation of tailbone (coccyx) making it difficult to sit on butt and sleeping on back. Generally coccydynia will resolve with conservative treatment as mentioned below. In severe cases an injection called Ganglion Impar block might be needed. This is done by a Pain specialist in operation theatre under X Ray guidance to locate the accurate pain transmitting nerve. 1. Take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen round the clock for pain relief and decreasing the inflammation for few days. 2. Sitting on specially designed gel-filled cushions can reduce pain when you are sitting down. 3.You can also lean forward in your seat and rest your arms in front of you on a flat surface. 4. Clothing such as tight jeans or trousers, may make your coccydynia worse. 5. It can also help to wear flat, comfortable shoes. 6. Patients with coccydynia find sleeping on their sides most comfortable. If you have severe pain, you may sleep on your front. You could also try sleeping with a pillow or cushion between your knees. 7. Warm and cold packs – applying either a warm or cold pack to the base of your spine.

Heel pain in your mother's case is most likely due to plantar fascitis. The treatment mostly is conservative and lifestyle modifications to achieve maximum functionality with minimum pain. Follow these lifestyle changes religiously to get benefit. 1. Reduce body weight as obesity will aggravate the stress on heel. 2. Avoid exercises like running / walking on hard surfaces. Stop such activities when you start developing pain. 3. Roll your feet on bottle of cold water for 20 mins 4 times a day or can apply ice pack. 4. Use shoes with silicone sole inserts. 5. Do calf muscle and heel stretches daily. 6. Avoid prolonged standing or sitting. 7. Use night splint to keep foot flexed at night. Stop using it once pain is relieved. 8. Use analgesics like ibuprofen for decreasing pain and inflammation. With proper lifestyle changes as above 90 % patients have relief and functionality. Only 10% patients would require surgical intervention like plantar fascia release or gastrocnemius recession. For hair fall problem consult a trichologist or dermatologist.

Hi, Apply Bakson’s Rheum Aid oil gently (2-3 times a day) and take orally Bakson’s Rheum-Aid syrup/ 1 tablespoon thrice daily. Also, increase your dietary intake of calcium which is present in green leafy vegetables, milk, milk products, sea food, white legumes, dried fig, black-eyed peas, almonds, oranges, seasame seeds. And vitamin D which is essential for absorption of calcium in our body and is synthesized naturally after getting exposed to sunlight, so early morning sunlight for 10-15 min. 2-3 times a day is mandatory. Apart from this, do walk daily along with physiotherapy will also help you.

I have hair fall and my hairs are very short I am tired of using all the products help out. Pls.
Daily shedding of upto 100 hairs is normal" excessive hair fall can be due to male pattern baldness, physical or mental stress, anaemia or nutritional deficiency or certain medical conditions like thyroid disorders, low serum ferritin etc. Take a nutritious and protein rich diet (pulses, milk products, eggs). Avoid routine application of gels or frequent blow drying of your hair. Use a sulfate free shampoo for your hair twice a week. Biotin containing hair supplements can be taken for 3-6 months.

I am suffering from lice in hair and hence a irritating itching in head always. Kindly advice me remedies.
Home remedies for itchy scalp 1. Tea tree oil- the best home remedy for itchy scalp for centuries, tea tree oil has been used for dandruff, dry hair and itchy scalp and not in vain! the component terpinen-4-ol gives tea tree oil its strong antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It kills the fungus and bacteria that cause over production of skin cells leading to dandruff. It also clears clogged hair follicles to relieve you of an itchy scalp. Ways to use tea tree oil for itchy scalp 1. If you can stand the strong composition of tea tree oil, use it undiluted. Take 5-10 drops of this oil and gently massage into your scalp. 2. If your skin is too sensitive, dilute tea tree oil with some baby shampoo. Add 10-20 drops of tea tree oil to 1/2 cup of baby shampoo. Use this daily to wash your scalp and hair till you get rid of itchy scalp. 3. You can even massage diluted tea tree oil to your scalp. Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to 1 tablespoon of any carrier oil like jojoba, olive, coconut, or almond oil. Massage your scalp with this daily. Leave the oil mixture for 1-2 hours before you wash off hair with a mild shampoo. 4. If you want even easier method, buy tea tree oil shampoo, especially when your itchy scalp has started giving lots of trouble due to dandruff. When you apply this shampoo to your scalp, wait at least for one minute before washing it off with water. Use it daily or every other day to cure itchy scalp. 5. You can also make a tea tree oil rinse. Add 5-10 drops of tea tree oil in water enough to rinse your scalp and hair. After shampooing, wash your hair with this water. Use this water as the last rinse. You can use normal water to properly wash away the shampoo and then use this tea tree oil mixed water.

My hair was too long and silky smooth now is too short and dry what I do for this.

MBBS, MD - MD- Skin & VD
Dermatologist, Ahmedabad
My hair was too long and silky smooth now is too short and dry what I do for this.
They were long and you cut them short? short hair are difficult to maintain, and with short hair, we tend to use hot irons or curlers more often to manage them. For soft and smooth hair, -henna is very good (it changes the door a bit though) -conditioning is very important after shampoo. -deep condition your hair every 15 days. -oil them regularly. -give steam to your hair while deep conditioning, using hot towel. -eat protein rich foods. -stay away from curlers or flat irons. -if you use hair plop method to dry your hair, they will dry softer.
