15 days back I got my root canal done in left corner teeth and filling in the lower area and also the crown done. But now again I started having pain in left side both upper and lower area. I visited to doc and he has given me augmentin antibiotic and said if this is not going to help then will remove the teeth. I want to ask here whether removal could’t be done at first time only if the teeth was in such a bad condition?

Removal could be done at first place but that is not the first preference of an expert dentist. Extraction is the last option. Unfortunately, RCT fails in some cases and yes, there are dentists who performs RCT even though they know that tooth can not be saved by any means, for money they disrespect our profession.

If you are sure andif it is not a self or Google diagnosis ,don't worry it's self healing problem. If must, you can apply medicated gel such as antihistamines, steroidal gel, moisturizer s etc.

Your orthodontist can tell better about the duration as he/ she knows the best about your problem. Otherwise, on an average treatment takes about 1-1.5 years to complete and 6 months with retainers.

Don't worry it will seldom cause any life threatening issues. Let her visit a specialist dentist nearby to check for any remaining tooth structure/ roots of the lost tooth etc. X- ray will reveal other possibilities of developing cysts and/ or tumors etc. Treatment will be based on that diagnosis.

Unless you take it in excess it will not cause any harm. In excess also it will not cause any life threatening problems but bad stomach and other uneasy symptoms but prevention is always better.

Get a pathogical report of diabetes, complete blood count, hemoglobin%, iron estimation, etc to rule out any underlying disease/deficiency. Visit a specialist dentist to clinically observe and evaluate the problem. Many times a sharp tooth cusp can be the culprit so first visit a dentist and if required, all the mentioned tests can be done. Once exact cause is known it will be much easier to treat.

Lady aged 28 years, now undergoing a pregnancy treatment for requiring a child. For the last few weeks may be a month she is having tooth ache due to wisdom tooth occurrence. Dr. says if it gives much pain they will remove. But is it safe to remove tooth while taking a pregnancy treatment. Or is it safe to take pain killer tab for tooth ache. Any advise from gyno or any Doctor is welcomed. I will be thankful if you respond immediately.

If she is not pregnant yet, get the extraction done to ease the pain permanently and to avoid future emergency situations where we can not remove the tooth. If she is already pregnant then 2nd trimester (3-6 months) of pregnancy is relatively safe to undergo extraction under gynecologist's supervision. Please do not postpone it.
