I am a 16 years boy and I want to gain allot of power and strength and want my body as a athletic. My weight is 55 kg and I want to increase 15 kg in 2 months.
To gain 15 kgs in two months is little cumbersome. The right approach should be to gain 1 kg in 7 - 10 days time depending upon how strong is your metabolism. To gain weight one needs to get involved into exercise everyday. One should eat meals at right time. To gain strength and to have a athletic body one needs to indulge into food choices from protein sources like egg white protein, chicken, meat, fish, pulses and lentils and dairy products. Carbohydrates also corresponds to the main percentage of diet, which is around 50%. So one should get into complex carbohydrates from products made from multigrain flour like chapatis and brown rice and cereal which has more fiber and even oats, wheat porridge. High carb fruits should also be eaten like bananas, mangoes, grapes, musk melon etc instead of refined flour. For further clarification on the right kind of diet plan, please consult a dietitian through Lybrate.
I want to increase my body strength and power along with gaining weight. I want my body to be athletic and I don't want to take supplements. My weight is 55 kg and I want it to be 70 kg in 2 months.
Body strength can be increased by involving yourself with exercise for at least minimum 1 hour. For an athletic look you have to include more protein in your diet with complex carbs and not refined ones. 1st class protein source should be from egg whites, pulses, lentils, dairy and dairy products and above all depending upon your body requirement you can also add extra protein from protein powders available from herbal life. For further clarification as how much quantity of protein is required and required portion size in meals. Please consult dietitians through Lybrate.

Hi Sir, I am 50 years old. My knee hurts when I climb up and down the stairs. This has continued for the last 12 years. I do take regular calcium tablets and walk for an average of 3.5 km to 4 km in the morning. My height is 5 ft 7 inches and am 70 kg in weight. I am slim overall but have heavier hips compared to my body. Anything to do can you suggest to improve. No sugar, BP or thyroid.
It is mechanical problem involving your knee joints and medicines hardly has any role. Main thing is how to reduce further damage to knee joints. Reduce your weight by 4-5 kg. Avoid postures which cause pain specially squatting, sitting cross legged, reduce use of stairs as far as you can.

Do not look for short cuts or quick fix methods to weight loss and do not believe in anything posted on social media unless it comes through an expert (with genuine degree in the field) and with scientific basis. Just introducing lemon water and honey or anything similar will not help. If you desire to lose weight healthily and sustainably, I would advise you to give your body time and do it with a wholesome diet and exercise. Focus on high protein, low fat intake and restrict carbohydrates to high fibre foods only. Avoid simple sugars completely. Eat outside food less and have good quantity of fresh foods (Fruits, Vegetables) which are not processed. Have small and frequent meals. Have plenty of water and sleep well. Sir please tell me some ayurveda or homeopathic tablet by which my weight is increase 5 kg or which are of very low cost and easily Available in market. And there is no side effects of the tablet?
Weight is always increased either by getting into a healthy life style regimen and having a balanced diet. By healthy life style I would say involve yourself with at least 1 hour of exercise and a good diet regimen. Eat your meal at proper time and include fresh food like vegetables, fruits, nuts, healthy carbs, 1st class protein source like dairy products, chicken and meat, eggs white protein etc. There are no medicines available which would help you to increase weight. Do not eat any such medication prescribed by any quacks as they will not show any result and will leave adverse side effects. For further clarification, please book an appointment through Lybrate.

Hi Sir, White sugar or brown sugar. Which is more beneficial to intake on the daily basis. And using brown rice instead of white rice is it okay to consume it on daily basis?

Hello, Thanks for the query. For persons without the problem of diabetes, there is really no worry at all. However, it is better if one restricts overall sugar intake, whether it is brown or white. As regards the rice variety, brown one is supposed to contain more of fibers, so it is better. But the whole thing is the total quantity that one takes. There are some white varieties with high fiber content available. All these considerations are more relevant for a diabetic patient. In general for a normal person it is better if one consumes more of green leafy vegetables, and other fiber containing foods. Thanks.
