Since blood is part of the cardiovascular system, and diabetes is a condition in which the level of glucose in the blood is higher than normal, then is certainly some relationship between the two.

Diabetes and cardiovascular system diseases has been recognized to be closely related to each other due to the so-called insulin resistance syndrome or metabolic syndrome. Some examples of the commonly diagnosed cardiovascular disease are coronary heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and other heart conditions.

Diabetes is considered a major risk factor in cardiovascular diseases. Other factors that contribute to the possibility of acquiring cardiovascular diseases in diabetic patients include hypertension, smoking, and dyslipidemia.

How Diabetes Causes Cardiovascular Problems?

  1. Hypertension: Hypertension in diabetes is considered a major contributor to the increase in mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Diabetic patients, especially those with Type 2, need to always have their blood pressure checked every visit to the doctor. Self-monitoring at home is also a must to maintain and control the rise of blood pressure. The American Diabetes Association recommends a target blood pressure of not more than 130/85 mm Hg to maintain a good level of blood pressure.
  2. Arteriosclerosis and Atherosclerosis: Arteriosclerosis is the stiffening or hardening of the artery walls while Atherosclerosis is the narrowing of the artery because of plaque build-up. Atherosclerosis is a form of hardening of the blood vessels/arteries, caused by fatty deposits and local tissue reaction in the walls of the arteries. Diabetes is a documented high risk factor for the development of both Atherosclerosis & Arteriosclerosis . Heart disease and stroke, arising mainly from the effects of atherosclerosis, account for 65 percent of deaths among diabetics.
  3. Hyperglycemia: Hyperglycemia means high (hyper) glucose (gly) in the blood (emia). Your body needs glucose to properly function. Your cells rely on glucose for energy. Hyperglycemia is a defining characteristic of diabetes, when the blood glucose level is too high because the body isn't properly using or doesn't make the hormone insulin. There is a growing recognition that diabetes belongs to a special category of risk factors because it markedly increases risk of CVD. This increase is partly the result of the pernicious effects of persistent hyperglycemia on the vasculature and partly due to the coexistence of other metabolic risk factors.
  4. Smoking: Smoking has been determined dangerous to our health. Studies show that smoking indeed increase risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients.
  5. Atrial Fibrillation: Atrial Fibrillation means an irregular and rapid heart rate which can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure and other cardiac issues. Individuals with diabetes are at an increased risk of developing atrial fibrillation. This risk is higher among patients with a longer duration of treated diabetes and poorer glycemic control.

Individuals with insulin resistance or diabetes in combination with one or more of these risk factors are at even greater risk of heart disease or stroke. However, by managing their risk factors, patients with diabetes may avoid or delay the development of heart and blood vessel disease. Your health care provider will do periodic testing to assess whether you have developed any of these risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease.

Women tend to develop high levels of blood sugar during their pregnancy (especially within the 24th and 28th weeks), irrespective of whether they already had suffered from diabetes prior to their pregnancy. However, gestational diabetes, if not taken proper care of, might escalate the risks of developing diabetes in the near future for both the mother and the child, accompanied by complications in pregnancy or labor. Gestational diabetes is usually characterized by mild symptoms such as excessive urge to urinate, excessive thirst, blurred vision and fatigue.

Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, allows for the utilization of the glucose for energy. The food consumed is broken down by the digestive tract of the body, converting carbohydrates into glucose before releasing it into the bloodstream. The glucose is then absorbed by the cells to be used as an energy source. With subsequent growth of the baby, the placenta keeps on producing more amounts of such insulin resistant hormones to an extent that they are capable of meddling with the development of the baby.

1. Monitoring the blood sugar count at least four to five times a day and keeping it under control might help to ease the complication.
2. A healthy diet consisting of whole grains, vegetables and fruits in the right proportion and limiting sugar or other highly refined carbs meets the nutrition and fiber requirement of the body. Guard against additional weight gain during pregnancy as that hampers the entire process.
3. Exercise or regular physical activities help to normalize blood sugar level by boosting glucose absorption in the cells. Furthermore, exercises also enhance the sensitivity of the cells towards insulin. This means that only a little amount of insulin production by your body would be enough for the transportation of sugar.
4. Medication, If exercise and diet fall inadequate, insulin injections are often administered to control blood sugar count.
5. Keeping the baby under close observation with the help of repeated ultrasound and other tests to record its growth and development is an essential part of the treatment plan.

What is penis fracture?
Penis fracture is a condition where an erect penis suffers a fracture. An erect penis is filled with blood, in this condition, if it is bent forcefully or suddenly, it can suffer a fracture. The penis consists of two large cylinders and one smaller cylinder; during erection blood rushes to the two larger cylinders inflating them thus turning the penis hard and erect. In this state, if it faces a sudden force it can cause damage to the penis.
The symptoms of penis fracture are-
1. A popping or cracking sound in case of sudden trauma
2. Loss of erection almost immediately
3. Feeling of pain in the affected area
4. Bruising of the area
5. In some cases the urethra can get damaged, causing blood to come out of it
In the case of penis fracture, one should seek medical advice immediately. If the condition is not treated then it can result in severe complications. A physical exam followed by exams like MRI or urethrogram are used to diagnose the problem. Surgery is mostly recommended to repair the penis after the diagnosis and it should not be delayed for long. In case the surgery is delayed, scarring occurs and it can result in erectile dysfunction.

हस्तमैथुन आमतौर पर  मैस्टरबेशन शब्द से ज्यादा प्रचलित है। मैस्टरबेशन  को लेकर हर किसीके अपने निजी ख्याल है। कुछ लोग इसे गलत समझते हैं, कुछ लोग सही, कुछ लोग फायदेमंद, तो कुछ लोग नुकसानदायक मानते हैं और यह एक ऐसा विषय है, जिसे जानते लगभग सब हैं या यूँ कहें कि हर किसी के मन में इस विषय को लेकर जिज्ञाशाएं हिलोरे मारती रहती हैं। पर इसके बारे में खुलकर बोलने की पहल बहुत कम लोग करते हैं। इस विषय को गुप्तांगो की तरह मन में दबाए फिरते हैं। 

असल में मैस्टरबेशन व्यक्ति की कामुकता पर काबू पाने का एक सामान्य तरीका है। वैसे तो लोग इसके बारे में बात करने में बेहद शर्माते हैं पर इसके ठीक उलट आंकड़े बताते हैं कि 95 पर्सेंट पुरुष और 89 पर्सेंट महिलाएं लगभग रोजाना मैस्टरबेशन करती हैं। हस्तमैथुन को से सम्बन्धित सबसे पहला सवाल ये है कि क्या यह एक नेचुरल एक्टिविटी है? 

 चिकित्सकीय दृष्टि से देखें तो यह एक सामान्य प्राकृतिक क्रिया है। महर्षि वात्स्यायन ने भी आज से लगभग 1600 साल पहले  रचित अपने ग्रंथ 'कामसूत्र' में इसका ‍जिक्र किया है। कामसूत्र के मुताबिक़ हस्तमैथुन, मैथुन का ही एक प्रकार है। 'हस्त' यानी हाथ और 'मैथुन' यानी संभोग अर्थात हाथ से किया जाने वाला मैथुन। 

संभोग के दौरान पुरुष लिंग यो‍नि मार्ग में जो क्रिया करता है, हस्तमैथुन के दौरान लिंग वही क्रिया हाथ में करता है। हस्तमैथुन करते वक्त हथेली योनि की शक्ल में मुड़ी होती है। उसमें लिंग के प्रवेश व निकास की क्रिया ठीक वैसी ही होती है, जैसे संभोग के दौरान योनि में।विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि हस्तमैथुन एक स्वस्थ सेक्स जीवन का अहम हिस्सा है। हस्तमैथुन हाथ या अन्य किसी चीज़ से यौन आनंद पाने का तरीका होता है।

1. हाँ एक बात पर गौर करने की जरूरत है, जैसा की किसी भी चीज़ की अत्ति अच्छी नहीं होती उसी तरह हस्तमैथुन को भी नशीली चीजों की तरह लत नहीं बनानी चाहिए। अमूमन हस्तमैथुन करने से पुरुषों को घाव जैसा कुछ होने की संभावना नहीं होती पर महिलाएं हस्तमैथुन सावधानी से करें तो बेहतर है। कई बार सुनने में यह बात जरुर आती है की बहुत ज्यादा हस्तमैथुन करने से योनी और लिंग भाग के ऊपरी हिस्से में कुछ समय के लिए जलन होने लगती है। हस्तमैथुन से कोई विशेष नुकसान नहीं है पर इसकी खासियतें कई हैं।

2. हस्तमैथुन  के बारे में सबसे मजेदार बात यह है इस एक्टिविटी यानि हस्तमैथुन किसीको सिखानी पडती। युवा अवस्था में शरीर में होने वाले बदलावों के साथ सेक्स की तरफ झुकाव बढ़ने के पड़ाव पर यह कला खुद आजाती है, जिससे पार्टनर के ना होने पर या वैसे भी अपनी सेक्सुअल डिजायर को पूरा करते हुए एन्जॉय किया  जाता है।

Ankle Sprain: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment!

An ankle sprain can make life miserable. A sudden twist or stretching (due to incorrect walking, incorrect posture, wearing high heels, walking on an uneven and rough surface, exercise, games) can result in ligament(s) tear (partial or complete tear), affecting the ankle. An ankle sprain is often confused with a twisted ankle. However, the two are different as chalk and cheese. A sprained ankle can be extremely painful, taking few weeks to months to heal completely (depending on the severity).


An ankle sprain is independent of age and sex, affecting anyone and everyone under the sun. The symptoms characteristic of an ankle sprain includes:

  1. The affected region of the ankle may swell up immediately.
  2. Difficulty in walking. In severe forms, a person may find it difficult to place a step.
  3. The area appears bruised and tender.
  4. Excruciating pain and discomfort (severe case).
  5. Stiffness and, in some cases, discoloration of the skin around the tear.

At no point should the sprain be taken lightly. Seek medical assistance at the earliest. Negligence on your part can aggravate the situation. In extreme cases, an ankle sprain can add to your agony and discomfort, affecting the joints, bones, blood vessels, tendons, and cartilage.

Diagnosis and Treatment:


Accurate diagnosis can make the treatment effective, thus accelerating the recovery process. In case of an ankle sprain;

  1. Physical examination of the affected area and a thorough case study is an important diagnostic step followed by many doctors.
  2. X-ray of the affected ankle region can help in a better and more accurate diagnosis.


The course of treatment depends on the extent of the damage. In case of a minor sprain, doctors mostly recommend

  1. Keeping the affected ankle area bandaged (ACE bandage) and well protected. A crutch or a brace is a blessing for people who face difficulty in walking.
  2. Time and again, apply a cold compress on the sprained ankle. A cold compress can help reduce the swelling effectively.
  3. In case of extreme pain and swelling, your doctor may recommend an acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen
  4. Rest as much as possible. While sleeping, use cushions or pillows to keep the leg elevated.

In rare cases where the sprain refuses to heal and becomes unresponsive to the above treatment, doctors may recommend an Arthroscopy or a Reconstruction surgery.

Precaution and Care:

A little alertness and agility on your part can help to deal with an ankle sprain better.

  1. In the case of a severe sprain, try and avoid self-medication as much as possible. It can do you more harm than good.
  2. Exert minimum or no pressure on the affected ankle area.
  3. Indulge in some strengthening exercise as recommended by your physician. It is advisable that you warm up before any exercise.
  4. Avoid heavy, strenuous work as much as possible.

When the sugar concentration in the blood increases suddenly and unreasonably, the resulting condition is known as diabetes. Sugar or glucose is generally used in order to provide much needed energy to our bodies. But when the pancreas dysfunctions, it leads to a problem in the insulin production. As a result, glucose or sugar gets directly absorbed into the blood, instead of getting absorbed by insulin. And this leads to the condition of diabetes.

Diabetes Treatment in Ayurveda
For Ayurvedic treatment of diabetes, the first step is usually dietary planning and lifestyle change. Adopting a more active lifestyle, and a healthy, balanced diet low on sugars and starches, is a must. You must begin by avoiding sugars in all forms. This means you will have to get rid of rice, potatoes, white bread, sugar coated cereals, bananas, colocasia and much more. Add a lot of green leafy vegetables to your diet to improve your nutritional status and metabolism. In addition to these, also add some herbs to your diet. Ayurvedic herbs that act as natural medicine for diabetes include turmeric, bitter gourd, gurmar leaves, bael, fenugreek and many more.

Apart from diabetes Ayurvedic treatment, you could also practice yoga, which can help you improve your health. Several yogic asanas help massage your internal organs so that they are healthier and can function much better. Some of the asanas are especially beneficial for the pancreas, which produces insulin. You may have to make some changes to your lifestyle as well. For starters, you will have to maintain a more active lifestyle. You will also have to avoid sleeping in the daytime. Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol and take extra care of your feet.

As an ancient science based on lifestyle related treatment methods that include herbs, massages and life changing tweaks, Ayurveda also provides various methods of managing this ailment. Here's how!

  1. Bitter Gourd: Known as an ingredient that is rich in antioxidants, this can be consumed to take care of diabetes. You will need to first remove the peel of at least four to five bitter gourds before crushing them to create a paste. This paste has to be put through a sieve so that the juice of the gourds can be extracted. You will then have to drink this juice every morning, on an empty stomach.
  2. Cinnamon: From treating coughs and colds to diabetes and other serious ailments, this is a wonder spice that can be found in most Indian kitchens. You can start by boiling a litre of water and letting it simmer on the gas for about twenty minutes. Thereafter, you can add three teaspoons of cinnamon powder to this simmering water. Strain this mixture and drink the entire batch every day to clear out the toxins.
  3. Fenugreek Seeds: For this, you will need to take about four to five tablespoons of fenugreek seeds. These will have to be soaked in a glass of water or about 250ml of water, overnight. In the morning, the softened seeds will need to be crushed before the mixture is strained. The water that escapes should be collected and ingested every day for a period of two months.
  4. Turmeric: Turmeric is a powerful and well-known ingredient that is used for curing and managing many ailments. You will need to mix about half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with one teaspoon of amla powder as well as half a tablespoon of methi seeds or fenugreek seeds powder. This concoction will have to mixed in half a glass of water and taken daily on an empty stomach. This can be used by patients suffering from heart ailments as well.
  5. Diet: Cereals like ragi, corn, kulit, green millet, and barley are known to beneficial for patients suffering from diabetes. Leafy greens are also a must for such patients along with protein-rich foods like soya beans. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.
