Tucking is the surgery which involves getting rid of excess skin from certain parts of the body to give a smoother and firmer skin. There are various kinds of tucking and these are performed by a plastic surgeon. Most common is the abdominoplasty also known as tummy tucking. It is the procedure to remove the excess belly fat and skin on the protruding abdomen. A tummy tucking treatment is not an alternative to weight loss. Women, who are planning a pregnancy in future or a substantial weight loss, are asked to postpone the surgery. The loose muscles of the abdomen caused by fat accumulation, and the redundant sagging of skin are removed and tightened by the surgery. There are other nonsurgical tummy tucking treatments but they are not as successful as the surgery itself. Creams and exercise do not remove extra skin and only provide some tightening of the skin. Most people need surgery after pregnancy. Tummy tucking surgery does not help in getting rid of stretch marks. Chin surgery or genioplasty is the method of augmentation of the chin with an implant. Silicon is generally used with the help of sliding genioplasty of the jawbone or by suturing of soft tissues for the surgery. The result of the surgery is a smoother and firmer skin. Healing from the surgery may take up to a week.
