Dear lybrateuser, -You can have egg whites if you are exercising -your pimples are not due to eggs, wash your face 3-4 times with normal water especially after sweating -to reduce egg intake you can add other sources of protein like milk, soya beans, fish, chicken, paneer, yogurt, also have fruits & vegetables, especially green leafy ones in your diet -avoid spicy, deep fried, processed & junk foods, restrict intake of tea, coffee -have 2-3 litres of water in a day , this will improve your digestion.

Dear Doctor, My parents are diabetic. If they feel sweating due to low sugar levels then can we give them hydralyte tablets? Hydralyte tablets are soluble in water and are similar to the electral / glucon C powder administered to patients suffering from nausea or diahorrea.

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)

Dear friend if your parents prespire due to low sugar levels then give them sugar or glucose because that is exactly what will save them. We should try to simplify complicated situations and not try to complicate simple situations. Hope I have driven my point clear to you. Regards.

Hello sir Is there any w@y to make myself fit and healthy. I daily exercise for half an hour.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Hello lybrate-user it is great that you exercise for 30 minutes a day. When 30 minutes a day becomes easy to exercise (which means you have gained more endurance), you need to increase the exercise time to 45 minutes a day. Along with exercise, it is important to pay attention to what you eat as well.

Is there way to increase muscle and reduce excess body fat weight in diabetic patient.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hi. Thanks for your query. If your blood sugar levels are maintained then only can you avoid excess storage of fats. The sugars need to be maintained by following good diet and exercise routine. For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - The sugar levels will fluctuate depending on what you ate or did not eat, stress levels and activity levels. You have to try and manage a balanced carb intake. Have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. Your diet must include whole grains, seasonal fruits, vegetables, small amounts of nuts and dairy and pulses or dals or lean meats like chicken or fish and egg. Starchy vegetables need to be planned into the diet. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Avoid exercise if sugar levels are above 250 mg/dl. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.
