Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! It not only depends upon the amount of food you consume daily, but also about eating Sensibly, depends upon your genes, your body's proper metabolism, assimilation and absorption, the levels of stress/ tension in your life, and any underlying medical condition you have! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points (if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. Both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 3 months. Revert.

I have specialised medicine prepared for fat loss. It works by converting extra fat to glucose and ensures complete consumption of glucose thereby giving you proper fat loss and natural shape correction. With this medicine, you can lose up to 5 kg per month. If you are interested in this treatment, kindly let me know Detailed mechanism of action This medicine locates extra fat, transports it to liver. This step gives you inches loss or figure correction. In the next step, the fat is converted to glucose, at this step, your apetite is reduced as your requirements of glucose are fulfilled out of extra fat. This way, dieting becomes very easy. In the next step glucose is utilised in cells as this medicine transports glucose and oxygen inside cell wall where with the help of mitochondria, the glucose is converted to Water and carbon dioxide. The water evaporates through sweat or urine and carbon dioxide is expelled through respiration. This is how fat vanishes and we get weight loss and shape correction. I saw an article stating GHEE is very good for Brain, Strengthen your Immunity, Promote weight loss, helps digestion etc. But for aged people like me about 65 years of age with mild heart disease, is it advisable to take Ghee with food Does it not increase cholesterol level and fat in body, since I may not be able to digest it at this age. Please clarify whether is it advisable to GHEE after 60 years of age.

Such articles are very generic in nature. Any item being good/not good depends on the condition of the person. Banana is good for health but not good for diabetics. Similarly Ghee may be good for a normal person but in your case it may not be good. The other issue is - people tend to overhype the benefits of some food products which may not be entirely true. Purely from science point of view. Ghee contains Saturated Fatty Acids (SFA). And SFAs are not recommended for persons with heart issues. Hence its better to avoid.

Hi, I am a 30 years old Working professional. I was diagnosed with Diabetes when I was 25 years old. I have changed a lot of medicines but the sugar is never normal. However, it has no effects on the Kidney, eyes, foot. Currently I am taking metformin 500 MG + glimepiride 1 mg. I do not want to go on very heavy dosage, since I have tried that in the past, but it has not worked out for me. I am also taking Noni juice and have also tried some Ayurveda medicines. Nothing has been successful. Kindly Suggest what should I do to bring my sugar to normal.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your information is very general. There is no mention of actual blood glucose levels like current fasting, Pp levels and HbA1c%. To control blood glucose three things are needed, 1) Appropriate drugs, based on the need of individual person, 2) Strict dietary control, that is taking exact diet based on ideal body weight, extent of daily physical activity and glucose levels. 3) Daily regular exercise to burn extra blood glucose. Only modern medicines have specific role in controlling blood glucose or providing insulin needed for reducing the glucose. Also reducing the insulin resistance and making available insulin work better. Ayurvedic drugs have very little role, even though a lot of claims are made. The product mentioned (Noni), again has really no role to play. If you follow proper treatment guidelines and then diet and exercise diabetes can be well controlled. But as there are no relevant details are given I can not make any comments or give any suggestions. Please understand strict blood glucose control is a necessity to prevent long term complications associated with diabetes. Thanks.

Dear patient, there is nothing to worry about taking a cow's milk and its products. But the only precaution is to use pasteurized milk and to boil it before drinking.
