Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. I have pain in my back since last 4days and not able to sit easily on my own after get up on sleeping.
First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket . And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back . you may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * Gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * Surya Namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * In diet vegetable protein of cereal , B complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

I'm 41 years old Man I'm having problem in My back I can't stretch any more what should I do.
Dear, low back pain are often referred for physical therapy for four weeks as an initial conservative (nonsurgical) treatment option before considering other more aggressive treatments, including back surgery. The goals of physical therapy are to decrease back pain, increase function, and teach the patient a maintenance program to prevent future back problems. Common forms of physical therapy include: 1.Passive physical therapy (modalities), which includes things done to the patient, such as heat application, ice packs and electrical stimulation. For example, a heating pad may be applied to warm up the muscles prior to doing exercising and stretching, and an ice pack may be used afterward to sooth the muscles and soft tissues. OSee Physical Therapy: Passive PT (Modalities) for Back Pain 2.Active physical therapy, which focuses on specific exercises and stretching. For most low back pain treatments, active exercise is the focus of the physical therapy program. This article focuses on active physical therapy and exercise as a means to help recover from back problems and prevent or minimize future flare-ups of low back pain Low back pain has lasted between two and six weeks, or if there are frequent recurrences of low back pain, physical therapy is often recommended. I have restless leg tickling in both the limbs unable to bear the pain, advice asap.
Its nothing because of your lower back spinal nerves are under some pressure. You just stretch your back muscles so that that compression may relieved. In between just keep icing therapy for your back.

Hi you can relieve short-term joint pain with a few simple techniques at home. 1) protect the joint with a brace or wrap. 2) rest the joint, avoiding any activities that cause you pain. 3) ice the joint for about 15 minutes, several times each day. 4) compress the joint using an elastic wrap. 5) elevate the joint above the level of your heart. 6) if you are overweight do exercise like swimming or cycling to reduce weight. Still you don't get relief consult me via lybrate as further investigation may be needed.

You seem to be having cervicogenic headache. The cause of headache is some disease process affecting the neck (cervical spine). It can be due. 1. Intervertebral disc prolapse in cervical spine. 2. Neck muscle strain. 3. Occipital neuralgia: entrapment of nerves at back of head. Follow these tips to get relief; 1. Take simple analgesics like paracetamol or ibuprofen round the clock for 4 to 5 days. 2. Apply warm water bag on neck if you find it soothing. 3. Do neck stretching exercises after pain is relieved. 4. Maintain good posture during work or reading to relieve neck strain. Avoid reading or computer work with neck bent. Keep text books at eye level. If problem is persistent you need to consult again.

Knee Pain - It May be a Sign of Arthritis?

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics, Fellowship in Joint Replacement , M.Ch - Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Delhi
Knee Pain - It May be a Sign of Arthritis?

If you are suffering from arthritis, it is important for you to know about how it affects your knee and other joints. Arthritis is a chronic, systematic inflammatory disease which damages your joints and connective tissues. Your knee is commonly affected by arthritis and there are three primary types of arthritis that occur in the knees. They include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and post-traumatic arthritis.

Types of arthritis
The different types of arthritis affecting the knees occur due to different reasons. Osteoarthritis is a progressive condition, which wears away the joint cartilage over time. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory condition, which may occur at any age. Post-traumatic arthritis occurs after an injury is inflicted to the knee and may occur several years after a ligament injury or knee fracture.

Major symptoms

  1. Arthritis pain may occur all of a sudden, but commonly develops slowly. In the early stages, the pain is observed in the morning after you have been inactive over the night. Pain is likely when you want to move around. Pain may be experienced even when immobile.
  2. Periodic inflammation is a common symptom of arthritis of the knee. This happens because of the formation of bone spurs or excess fluids in your knee. The swelling gets pronounced after being inactive for a long period. The skin on your knee may look red and feel warm while you touch it. This may lead to chronic inflammation, which is very difficult to manage.

Treatment
There are several ways of treating knee arthritis. The mode of treatment depends on the severity and cause of knee arthritis. NSAIDS or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are commonly prescribed for dealing with arthritis pain temporarily. Other medicines used for knee arthritis treatment are as follows:

  1. Analgesics, which help in pain reduction act as good alternatives to NSAIDS.
  2. Corticosteroids are used for reducing inflammation.
  3. Certain DMARDs or disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs are used.

Certain injections that are used for helping with knee arthritis. They include:

  1. Hyaluronic acid supplements, which ease the pain and inflammation by lubricating your knee joints.
  2. Corticosteroid injections also soothe inflammation and pain.

You may also require a surgery for dealing with knee arthritis when other modes of treatment fail. The most common surgeries are as follows:

  1. Total joint replacement, where your knee is replaced with a prosthetic made of metal, plastic or ceramic.
  2. Osteotomy, where the knee bones are modified for controlling pressure and damage in the knees.
  3. Arthroscopy, where an incision is made in the knee for removing damaged parts.

It is recommended for you to consult a doctor, if you experience any symptom of knee arthritis. Early treatment will prevent the condition from worsening.
