Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Dear Doctor, I had been operated on my left leg below the knee as i got multiple fractures, it was in the month of Jan 2006. Till now the leg below knee till toes is swollen. When taken rest/ sleeping position keeping legs on pillow the swelling is gradually reducing and later when going to work is it swelling again. Your kind self is requested to advise the solution for the same. Thanks in advance.

Swelling is a common problem after fracture, even after surgery. However we need to make sure that the fracture has united. Are you fully bearing weight on your legs? Do you have a recent x Ray. Please post the x Ray here. If fracture has united, a crepe bandage and physiotherapy will reduce the swelling.

Hello. I just thought that it was very important for me to ask you some helps regarding my friends injury. I have a friend who plays football, but it's been like 6 months without playing football because since then his ankle was injured. He says it started from spraining of his medial ankle and he is not able to walk long distances and run and this has been going on for 6 months now. He consulted the doctors in his country but they said he was alright which I think is not true because if it was normal he would be able to walk long distances.

Hello dear some time there will hair line fracture and it's always in controversy so have a digital x-ray it's so cleverly. And some time but most common ligament injury it's not seen in x-ray and clinical findings are like normal so don't worry about it. Do muscle strength exercise and use some support like bands or tape this pain will reduce.

avoid forward bending , apply volini gel on back. do warm fomentation. do back stretching exercise, while lying on abdomen, take balanced and healthy diet. maintain straight posture while sitting

Hello lybrate-user, pain in leg is common at all ages. There are various causes of leg pain- cramps muscle spasm muscle fatigue nutritional deficiencies dehydration standing for long hours injuries medical conditions like arthritis, gout, dvt, restless leg syndrome, varicose veins, etc. One should try and find out the real cause of it for early treatment and control. Some temporary relief majors are - # ice fomentation - if leg pain is due to physical exertion or fresh injury. You can do it with an ice pack or put ice cubes in a normal plastic bag or zip lock bag n then cover this with a piece of cotton cloth for fomentation. # hot fomentation with hot water andhalf cup of epsom salt. It is a muscle relaxant and regulate nerve signals. Massage with hot oil is also relaxing. Regular exercise will also help. Advice on calcium intake is possible only after detail case history. I am 32 years old I am having mid back pain during mornings when I wake up then rest of day its clear no pain, now a day I feel like slight compression in my left side of chest which comes and goes for minute what should I do ?

Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise for spine. Don't sit on floors. Don't lift heavy things. Use lumber spine belt also. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement with omega3 for three months minimum.

Our suggestion would be to do hot water fermentation along with cold (ice) therapy. You shall also keep a pillow under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes.

It's not a disease, it's condition so do take precautions for over stretching, over loading and bad posture. You can do strengthening exercises in non weight bearing posture.

Dear, immediately start taking physiotherapy sessions. Take swd for 10mins (10days) u. S. To tender point (10days) ift x 5days. After that start exercising to strengthen your back and thigh muscles. That will help you for sure. Thanks.

See dear if the pain is so much like ij legs also then you need a bed rest and do not be afraid of disc bulge as it is very common these days and good news is its totally preventable by just doing simple changes in your lifestyle like use stairs, drink more water, keep changing your positions frequently etc.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Hi, your father is a diabetic so there will be slight circulatory disterbences to all parts of the body. Which can lead to reduced blood supply to the joint (in your father's case) in ayurveda there are many medicines for such cases. Before that he needs to have a good control of blood sugar and have little exercise so that circulation to words the joint increases. You can start with basic treatment like 1. Mahayograj guggul 2. Chandraprabhavati 3. Ksheerbala capsule, all the three medicine 1 tab each before food three times a day. And apply sahacharadi tailam to the effected joint. This treatment continue for 1 month.
