Suffering from Asthma? These Homeopathic Remedies can Help You Treat It

Asthma happens to be derived from of the Greek word 'toiled breathing' or ‘gasping'. Asthma is a condition portrayed by a paroxysmal wheezing breath dyspnoea (trouble in breathing), for the most part expiratory.

Factors that may induce asthma

As indicated by the etiology, bronchial asthma is separated in the accompanying gatherings:

1. Unfavorably susceptible (outward / atopic) Asthma: This sort of asthma is more often than not begins in youth and is frequently gone before by dermatitis. Be that as it may, a large portion of the youthful grown-ups (35 yrs) creating asthma likewise fall in this class. Hereditary elements likewise assume a huge part is this. In this sort of asthma the allergen prompts to generation of over the top (IgE) immunoglobulins.

2. Infective or Intrinsic Asthma: This is not innate or unfavorably susceptible, but rather might be brought on by, or if nothing else connected with upper respiratory tract or bronchial contamination which is generally popular.

Signs and symptoms of Asthma

Repetitive scene of paroxysmal dyspnoea (trouble in breathing). The breathing is worked, with a wheezing sound, for the most part on close. Asthma assaults regularly happen in the early hours of morning (when there is no prompt accelerating cause). Amid the assault patients frequently wants to sit then rests.

Medications: There are loads of meds in homeopathy for asthma side effects, but the choice of prescription fluctuates from patient to tolerant.

  1. Ipecac (As per Medical Suggestion): This remedy is a nearby homeopathic metaphor to asthma, particularly to the convulsive assortment where the manifestations are incredible weight and uneasiness around the midsection.

  2. Arsenicum (As per Medical Suggestion): As expressed above, this remedy has some similitude to other remedies, yet the season of assaults is soon after 12 pm. The patient has a lot of anguish and anxiety; he can't rests because of a paranoid fear of suffocation.

  3. Nux vomica (As per Medical Suggestion): This remedy is a valuable remedy when the asthmatic assaults are brought on by gastric unsettling influences; basic fitful asthmas; there is some help by burping, the patient must extricate the apparel.

  4. Kali bichromicum (As per Medical Suggestion): The potashes deliver asthmatic condition and under this remedy we discover the assaults going ahead around three or four o'clock in the morning, convincing the patient to sit up to breath. Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then I will prescribe appropriate meds based on your detailed assessment. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Dear lybrate-user, No, this one time smoking will not make your asthma worse. You will find relief with inhalers. Probably you were allergic to smoke in any form. That precipitates asthma. That happened with cigarettes today. Thank God, this one time smoking served as deterrent to smoking in your life. Find a partner who is a non smoker, so that you will not get frequent asthma attacks after marriage. All the best.

Seems to be allergic. 2 tests you would'nt have done are 1. Xray paranasal sinus 2. Spirometry. Have it done and upload the report. Probably you have nasal allergy with post nasal dripping of nose secretions over throat or asthma.

I have cold and cough problem from almost 2 months. After examining chest X-ray, esr, CBP, general physician said that I have allergic bronchitis. Taking the tablets and syrup from past 10 mins. Only 60 % of cough cured. Still getting cough. Please advice me the best medicine like inhalers which I used 2 years ago which worked in just a week. I forgot the name of inhaler. Thanks in advance.

DAA, DNB
Pulmonologist, Bangalore
Hi. I can understand your concern. Allergic bronchitis requires proper diagnosis and follow up. It does not respond to syrups and tablets. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and pft (pulmonary function test). Pft is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only. You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ics). Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Dear lybrate user, your blood pressure seems to be on the higher side, but one reading is not sufficient to make a conclusive diagnosis of hypertension. Additional details like history, weight, height, lifestyle, etc are also important. It is important you consult a physician privately, which will enable the particular doctor to prescribe you specific treatment after checking your blood pressure. Meanwhile, you could observe the following to help improve your blood pressure: - Sleep well at least 6-7 hrs everyday. Do not get stressed about issues. - Drink less coffee and tea, quit smoking - Eat less salt, less processed foods (papad, pickles, noodles, etc.) - Eat small meals (preferably home-cooked) at regular timings everyday Get well soon!
